Juliet wrote: What cruel words you write. As a former patient of Dr. Plotnick, I know he helped so many patients, including me. He is a kind, caring physician who spent the time needed to examine each patient, advise the patient and answer all questions the patient had. He even took the time to talk to and educate family members. How many doctors do that? I hope he will always hold his head high in public, knowing what caring, experienced and genuine doctor he is. I, and many others, hope he will pursue medicine again and commense his help for those of us who suffer chronic pain. We are still here supporting you, Dr. P.(never forget that) <quoted text> Unfortunately, your rhetoric does not match the facts. Feel free to revise history, if it makes you feel good. What this careless and negligent man did was in fact, just the opposite of what you have written. He endangered many lives by his overperscribing of serious narcotics without enough proper supervision. You do not let an alcoholic work behind a bar... You do not give people who may have a propensity for narcotics use, narcotics, just because they say they are in pain. Think about this... His name was turned into a verb....He/she has been "Plotnicked"... which means to be overpercribed with narcotics... I believe Webster's may publish this word one day. I hope this man is happy with what he has done... Do you think his wife and family are proud of his medical accomplishments, his personal bankrupty, his four front page headlines.. I bet his children say, "Dad, I want to grow up and be just like you..."

How come they are going to charge Michael Jackson's doctor with criminal charges and not this Doctor. From what I read this Doctor did more harm to more patients than Jackson's Doctor. Can someone please explain why Dr. Plotnick has not been charged with any crimes.

Many people and former patients, including myself, will stand by the good doc. I have searched locally for a competent Fibro/CFS doctor to fill the void when we all lost Dr. Plotnick in 2008. Many co-pays later, and still no doctor able to treat the conditions corrrectly. Not even my insurance company can recommend a doctor that can help. There is something seriously wrong with that picture. No one else around here seems to have half the knowledge that Dr. Plotnick has accumulated on these mysterious and VERY little-known illnesses. That in itself is a crime. Not one single day goes by when I am not in pain, or able to concentrate on things, or not nauseated, or not exhausted, or achey like the flu, or dizzy...and I could type another 5 minutes to give more symptoms of these illnesses. The medical field NEEDS Dr. Plotnick back in business here! I'd be there in the waiting room. OK, mean, clueless people, go ahead and spread your hatefulness again. Blow smoke out of your @%% and get it out of your system.

stephanie98, you are truly clueless. Have YOU suffered through several chronic pain syndromes that basically took your previous life away from you? Debilitated you to the point of being depressed? Aged you tremendously? I would not wish this upon anybody, even the mean-spirited, clueless people in the world. Is there any reason to think that I need some sort of detox? If you actually read my original comment, you would learn that I am not on any pain medication. Perhaps YOU are the one who may need a detox. If so, then seek out the help you need. It may help you think more clearly. Good luck.

Enough name calling... Everybody is entitled to an opinion. However, let us look at the facts... Dr. Plotnick gave up voluntarily his license, and filed personal bankruptcy. Most likely he will never practice medicine again. And, if he does, it will never involve the use of pain medicines. Dr. Plotnick has suffered tremendously as the shame and humiliation he has brought upon himself, his family, and his medical profession... Would you want your name to be turned into a verb. He has become a laughing stock in the medical profession. Sadly, the deaths of patients is no laughing matter. We do know from the articles that there was one settlement, and over a dozen lawsuits. Let this man have his dignity and the chance to defend his name by winning the cases. If he is found guilty at trial, then we can assume that he was negligent, otherwise, we are acting like a mob.

Does anybody know, if Dr. Plotnick has reapplied for his license. I hope this wonderful man gets to practice again. As a former patient, I have missed his kind and compassionate manner. Also, you will never find a more loving and caring family man than Dr. P.

He doesn't rush us through like most doctors and he really listens. I have been seeing him for about 8 years now and I'm not hooked on anything and have a good quality of life. I think you should hunt down the quacks and leave the good doctors alone. Dr Plotnick was the best ever. He never treated me like cattle. He knew my name and personal info. He saved my life! He ALWAYS listened to me and never tried to tell me things were in my head. If I was not happy with a medication he listened and changed or adjusted it.

Dr Plotnick was the best ever. He never treated me like cattle. He knew my name and personal info. He saved my life! When he was at loss on what to do for me he called the NIH. What other Dr would take the time to do this? He ALWAYS listened to me and never tried to tell me things were in my head. If I was not happy with a medication he listened and changed or adjusted it or took me completely off of it at my request.

I wish Dr. Plotnick would get his license back. He was a most wonderful human being. What I respected most about Dr. Plotnick was how he put his patient's needs first. Also, he was the most dedicated husband and father. To find such a rare combination of brilliant physician and family man is a true testament to this man's incredible character. What a shame that more people can not be like Dr. Plotnick. Please get you license back.

I was a patient of Dr. Plotnick for a couple of years. I was probably next in line to die. Unfortunately, I was on so many drugs and I trusted that he was doing the right thing, that I didn't even recognize how drugged up I was. Other doctor friends were very concerned about me, but I thought I was in heaven because my pain was dissipating. Little did I know I was highly addicted to 13 different prescription pain drugs. Finally, a family friend/doctor put his foot down and said I will not return to Dr. Plotnick, a week before his license was suspended. I thank God I had another doctor who was able to help me detox and, a couple of years later, I'm a normal, functioning human without any drugs. I truly regret the damage Dr. Plotnick did to me, my career and my family, and I feel sorry for all the other patients who think that all the things he was doing for them were "normal" and "a godsend". Plotnick was irresponsible, period, and I trusted him and never took anything other than exactly as he told me. May he never practice medicine again. And if anyone wants a doctor who can really help them, feel free to respond.

My mother was on 5 tablets 5 times a day of oxy cotin plus all the other medicines that he had her on like acqtic(misspelled) which is only FDA approved for dieing cancer paitents which my mother was not. For ever new symptom she got a new pill! The oxy made her depressed so he gave me an anit depressant, that upset her stomach which he gave her a antacid those combinded made her not able to sleep well which is where the trandazon came in then the muscle relaxers over and over again another pill. I can tell you this I remember when I was a teenager, around 16 I drove to his office and picked up her prescription of OXY so you cant tell me that he was prescribing per regualtions if there was no physical exam done!! AGAIN I was only 16 and they gave me my mother prescription for qty 500 of oxy!!!!! Whats wrong with that picture. Jenna, I am soooo glad that you are still with your family and that you had sence to realize that something was wrong. I was a very young adult when my mother passed, I only wish I had been a bit older and maybe I could have understood her situtation and helped her!!!
