Was not looking out the window, but I heard a ka-boom around 9:45 PM last night, which seemed to come from the east. My apartment building (near Langley) shook a little.

NOt sure whether I emailed wavy 10, but wanted to say I am a former lake james, vb, va. resident, and live here in CT, and heard the thunderous sound last night in bed. My fiance, a Yale PhD Physics student said he saw several bright flashes after the loud sound. Deb

I live in Hampton if it was a meteor wouldn't there have been an impact somewhere by now? Where is the tidal wave or crater? Something just doesn't seem right about this being a meteor to me. My friend says maybe the meteor incinerated, I doubt it. I think it was a man made device that went wrong. Possible attack on the U.S. and a Patriot missile destroyed it. That sounds more believable than a meteor to me.

Yes, I heard it too, but I think I know what it was. I believe it was simply a meteor that entered earth's atmosphere before burning up. The point of entry caused the sonic boom and created the shaking. It's much more violent than breaking the sound barrier. I experienced this same thing several times when living in Southern California everytime the space shuttle would land at Edwards AFB. You always new when the shuttle entered the atmosphere because it created that exact same type of sonic boom that would shake the ground like an earthquake. That's the kind of explanation I think the experts will tell us. But if my theory is completely off base, I am willing to accept their explanation, whatever it may be.

My husband and I were looking out the window around 9:40pm last night, we seen what looked like a meteor shower and heard a deafening Boom, we ran outside, our neighbors had a flash light looking in their yard, they thought something had fell near there, it was the loudest sound I've ever heard. We live off Princess Anne and Dam Neck

I was lying in bed when sometime between 9:30 and 10PM I heard a load bang on my bedroom window. It was as if a sudden strong gust of wind hit the house. I did not here the wind chime just out side the window so I know it was not the wind. the dogs were startled by it as well and started barking. I got up to look out the window thinking someone had knocked on it. but no one was there. I shouted to my Roommate in the next room and asked if he had heard it as well. He had but did not think much of it. I did not fell any shaking or vibrations though.

It was after 9:30 and I heard a boom while watching TV. I thought is was thunder or a truck had dropped something. I looked outside but didn't see anything. The wind was blowing and figured it was just thunder. I didn't realize how popular this boom was until I read the articles this morning about it.

I live in VA Beach near Weselyan College and about 9:45 the walls in my house shook and there was a loud boom. At first I thought a tree had fallen or a car had hit a house nearby.

I live in Virginia Beach and i heard a very loud boom and everyone in my neighborhood felt their houses shake. If people felt it from Elizabeth City, N.C. all the way to Maryland, it had to have been more than just a meteor.

We didn't see the light but a little before 10:00pm we heard a loud crashing sound and it felt like something had crashed into the roof. We went out and looked around but didn't see anything. Our neighbor called saying she felt and heard the same thing.

I was sitting on the back porch with my husband when the back yard lit up. It was so bright. It seemed like it was daytime. My husband looked up and swore it fell near the house. I just saw the tail end of the light falling. I went in the house and heard an explosion. I swore we were being bombed. It was very frightnening.

We were on the way back from Martinsville and saw an extremely large and low shooting star looking object. We were around the South Boston area. It was brighter than any other shooting star I have ever seen. It looked like it was right in front of us.

Oh My Goodness !! Is this mass hysteria or what?? I saw it while sitting on my back porch and it sat beyond my back yard tree’s for a while so it must have been heading toward us around 8:15pm after dinner because I cooked out on the grill last evening. I thaught it to be the moon because it stayed off in the distance but it was very low yet beyond the tree’s.This was about 8:15pm and us 4 adults did as we usually do and went out for an after dinner cigarette. Must have been passing directly over my house. So me and 3 other adults had watched it thinking it was the moon, and went in to watch a movie with the kids until 9:40pm last night and as Bobby (adult) stepped out after the movie he saw shooting stars that were possibly the tail end of it. We must have seen it come in from the south west heading toward VAB because we are about 4 miles in from the Suffolk line in Gates, NC. I thaught it was the moon, there was no moon last night. But the stars are bright at night out here in the country. So when the stars are out and you have a covering you see thru; it is not really considered a visual by me but the hubby saw, and when Buddy did see it was gone he had seen dozens of shooting stars. so we have a Bobby and a Buddy in the house but what were the dramatics last night?? Seems one will never know. If it reached all the way to VAB then it had to be a deteriorating metior but we were watching a movie with the kids and heard no sonic boomb, nor did we have our house shake any. But right after the after dinner smoke I had to rush to the restroom with a nausiated stomach and went to bed with a terrible headache.Woke around 4am with an even worse headache, so it did cause me to feel ill whatever it was. I finally got a little rest after all that hysteria in my body, but now we need to see if anyone else was nausiated during that time frame because it could be filled with radiation. Good luck Wavy TV crew on finding out “The Mystery In The Sky”!! Janet Jenkins Gates, North Carolina resident. P.S. I am still a little nausiated, no not by the story, but from something odd in the atmosphere.

I was outside last night when I heard the boom. However, what is interesting is that I received a call from my family in Georgia approximately 1 week ago reporting the same phenomena of a loud boom, bright lights and a vibration that shook buildings. No debris of any kind was found in that area. My family resides in an area of Georgia and South Carolina known as the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) which encompasses Augusta, Harlem, Martinez, Evans, etc., and in SC, North Augusta, and Aiken.

Last night my daughter and I were sitting at the table by our back door and our dog, Dakota, kept wanting in and then back out and this continued for about 5 minutes. When she would come inside she would jump up on me and then go back outside. I honestly believe she was trying to get my attention because about a minute later, we heard and felt the loud boom that everyone is describing. We thought a plane had crashed or something because we first heard a whistling sound of some sort and then a loud boom! I just wish I could have seen it in the sky. It’s just scary!
