The above list was gotten from the City of Vallejo take your questions up with them, but the in Craig Whittim's BK declaration PSU average salaries are about $200,000 not including overtime.
See attachment E-4 slide 44.
http://www.ci.vallejo.ca.us/uploads/688/05290... (05082008)%20-%20Material%20Ev ent%20Disclosure%20Notice.pdf
According to attachment E-4 the average officer salary is $106,590. Total comp including benefits is $169,316.

If you are gainfully employed with benefits, I'm sure your benefits are in the neighborhood of $30-40k.

LOL...no one in the real world gets $40K in benefits-that only happens in the fantasyland of gov workfare.

Oh, and BTW- the benefits for a GED cop or firewhiner are equal to their base pay, not that paltry 50% of base pay your sorry lying as-s listed.

The only one lying here is you. The chart clearly states what benefits are compared to base pay. Benefits clearly aren't anywhere equal to base pay. I understand why you have trouble counting that high though, not enough fingers to do the math and all.

Wow, that GED is showing clearly here.

If the "chart" said the earth was flat would that make it true Dumbo?

The fact is GED cop benefits are worth MORE than base pay because the pensions are currently being underfunded.

I would suggest that you "get a clue" to use your terminology, and spend and evening riding along with the Vallejo PD. You may feel you understand their job, and that since you pay taxes that pay their salaries, they are your employees. So, why not check in and make sure they're doing the job you want them to do? Ride along... its an education. I think you'll find you realy know very little about police work, and will come away with a whole new appreciation for what they do. I did.
I did a ride along with VPD (as well as Richmond PD, Solano SO, Oakland, Pinole and Fairfield)while I was in the police academy, before going on to work for a local Sheriff's Department as a Deputy Sheriff/Coroner, so I am quite familiar with how taxing it can be working as a patrol officer. Before receiving a job ending (on the job) injury I took many citizens and prospective officers on ride alongs and believe me, the activity and behavior of officers on ride alongs is totally different than the activities of officers while unattended. I understand the job, which is why I feel qualified to comment on it. I am by no means indicating that it is an easy job, because it is not easy to participate in and referee sorrow, pain, tragedy and loss all day long, and it comes at a great emotional cost to the officers on the street, but the reality is that there are also a great deal of racist behaviors and laziness associated with police officers in general. It was a shocking reality check to witness racial profiling being taught on the job, learning how to harass people "legally", the real use of the vehicle code for perpetrating unwarranted car stops, etc. I am not indicating that I think that the officers are overpaid, because it is difficult to determine what risking your life is worth, nor would I suggest that firefighters are overpaid either. My main and central issue was that at least several VPD officers are visibly not doing their jobs, and that is unacceptable.

excellent post....very honest and respectable....as with any other group of people good and bad officers exist....and the way we are policing today is not doing much for prevention of crime...nor is our system of rehabilitation....we need to consider new options and new methods of policing...sf is begining a new program that involves citzen participation and feedback...that is needed here on a regular basis...now especially with limited resources we must be assured that the officers we have are performing up to par.....and that we are getting what we pay for :)

Huh interesting. So you went out on a medical retirement? Wow, how long and what Sheriff's department did you work for? I don't think you are qualified to give any opinion. It is obvious that you know nothing of Police work in Vallejo. How long were you on patrol and did you work any specialized assignments. It sounds like you are just another (p)ussy who could not handle Police work so you went out on some (b)ullshit injury because you could not take it anymore. Because you did one ride along with Vallejo PD does not make you an expert. Now go back to Solano college and finish up your private investigator classes (i)diot.

Vallejo, we can do this. We have to stick it to the the people running the city, and the people running around the city. Call the cops. Make them tow vehicles and enforce codes. Be their eyes if they are not able to patrol. You want a better town, make it happen.

Were you on the "care home ride along" program? What care home are you from? May I suggest you go to the toy store and buy a police car. Then you can take it home and make siren sounds. night night re-tard.

I did not realize profiling was illegal. Does that mean when a black male with a gun was last seen running from the crime scene, I cannot look for a black male with a gun running. This would be profiling a black male with a gun running. Wow, I learn something new each day. Thank you re-tard

All the violent victims in VAllejol, make sure to e-mail or call Gomes and let her know violent crime in Vallejo is down. She is an expert and she knows this for a fact. Can you say "blinders" = a very re-tarded councilwoman

MR. fear Monger: I'm not saying there isn't violent crime. But why don't you provide a link that shows violent crime is up. A bad economy and high unemployment rate are typical drivers of crime and that could be expected. The stats I've looked at show violent crime in Vallejo is flat even in a declining economy with fewer cops.

I think Vallejo needs more cops. But I'm sick of people that are suppose to be security providers using fear tactics as weapons of persuasion.
