Pay all employees fairly
Why do we get so little and pay so much for it? Ted Gabler's commencement address to the graduating class of the Fels Institute of Government at the University of Pennsylvania in 2006 gives you a clue.

JD get off your high horse and drive around town. See the hard working corpyard employees fixing broken water mains in the extreme heat. See them landscaping and fixing burnt out lights. Watch the traffic cop writing tickets on Redwood St. where speeding is out of control. See the firefighters running around town putting out grass fires and tending to accident victims.
I bet the detectives that solved the brutal murder of the 711 clerk worked long hard hours to help make the community safe. Tell us, JD, what is a fair wage? How dare you accuse all city employees of doing nothing and being "guilty" of not taking care of you. You can cite all the research from self proclaiimed experts all day long. The workers of Vallejo give 100% everyday. A person like you can never be pleased. Your socialist views will never be appreciated by the hard workers and the citizens who appreciate what they do. Take your stupid charts somewhere else. |

yes sam we have seen the 100% given by firemen walking around a fire truck each morning and checking to see if the siren , lights work etc. now take your average citizen. he or she gets upp, gets ready for work then jumps in the car or truck hits starter and off to work. the lights work as does the horn heater and all other accessories. most likely 99% of all the items related to safety work WITHOUT having to check off a list each and every morning. why? because they are reliable. and face facts if one light did not flash on that light bar with all the others it would not make one difference on the emergancy run that MAY be needed sometime during the firemans duty hours. washing it makes no difference on the ability of the truck to preform as expected. we also see city trucks with up to 4 people in them crusing around doing nothing but look important. we see two or more police cars respond to some call and all coming from the same direction and in a nice neat straight line. 2 could ride together in one car and save gas, cost the city less but somehow to the city it makes more sence to have one man to a car and double the cost of responces as 2 responde to calls. ever see a car stop and withen a minate or 2 another pd unit shows up? right, safety in numbers. just doesnt make sence to have 2 in the same car. 100% every day. yeah, right. 100% of what is the question.

JD, what city do you live in? It cannot be Vallejo. All I see are hard working employees.
Gee, did you get a ticket? Are you upset with our public safety members, non members? Or have you been talking to Gomes again. Ask her about her $140,000 a year government job. Thats right,$140,000 a year and that does not include her benifits. And she just sits at a desk all day. Probably working on non work items too. |

I have seen your comments in the past and agree with some. But when you get goofy about procedures, come one Blue. How can you run two man cop cars in a city our size, when there are only 6 cops working days. That would be in your mind, 3 cars for Vallejo. I thought you were smarting than that. |
But $140K a year is still 35% less than what the GED FF's and copsmake. |

True but how do the total hours worked in a year compare? |

From what I have seen, I would make her pay me. She is not even worth a dime. She wreaks of revenge and hate. I think her nick name should change from the elephant (very appropriate) to the black widow. Look out mr P |
The VFD works very little in comparison, they are "on call" for 90% of their shift- time that is "down time"-washing fire truck, shopping, cooking eating sleeping. |
