Do they have hard numbers on lost retail to Santa Rosa.

It is possible that Delbar and McCowen (more light industry) are both correct.

A lot of people go to Santa Rosa to shop. They always will. Even if Costco or whatever was here.

But Carre Brown and McCowen are right. We need to keep our best industrial site. Let Costco go to the land already zoned for retail. Build that out first. Retail is not going to pay the bills. If we rezone industrial land for retail we will never get good paying jobs.

Wasn't the south end of town supposed to be light industry too? Is Wal-Mart light industry? This pipe dream of high-paying, light industry, environmentally clean jobs didn't happen then, and it sure doesn't look like it will happen on the north end either.

I'm not sayin just let the retailers take over, but I think Hemp Theme Park is about as likely as light industry.
