LOL. I am a leftie, though. I posted a bio to this same remark on one of the (likely) hundreds of threads that he posted that to (obviously not this one).
The software sputtered and coughed while I did it, too (so there's two of them). I'm really not THAT egotistical.
Richard Haley, aka writch, moved here in March of 2006 because he likes to grow and smoke marijuana. He is a long time associate of pot guru, Jack Herer ("Marijuana will Save the World") and Eddy Lepp, the Lake County medical grower who has been busted for 20,000 and 30,000 medical plants. He is now 49 years old and has been smoking marijuana since he was 13 years old. He is living proof that chronic marijuana use is damaging for the developing adolescent brain. He ignores the studies that show that pot smoking is a contributing factor for schizophrenia, especially for adolesent males. He prefers to think instead that smoking lots and lots of marijuana is a cure for schizophrenia. He is still smoking lots of marijuana and he is still schizophrenic. He likes to get stoned and spend lots of time on the internet, especially blogging. He has been working for the marijuana lobby for at least ten years.

EXPLAINS A LOT.

More evidence of the damaging impact of marijuana on humans has come to light.//It can trigger temporary psychotic symptoms in some people, including hallucinations and paranoid delusions, it has been found.

In a recent study, one compound, cannabidiol, or CBD, made people more relaxed. But even small doses of another component, tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, produced temporary psychotic symptoms in people, including hallucinations and paranoid delusions, doctors said.

The results, to be presented at an international mental health conference in London on Tuesday and Wednesday, provides physical evidence of the drug's damaging influence on the human brain.

"We've long suspected that cannabis is linked to psychoses, but we have never before had scans to show how the mechanism works,'' said Dr. Philip McGuire, a professor of psychiatry at King's College, London.

In analyzing MRI scans of the study's subjects, McGuire and his colleagues found that THC interfered with activity in the inferior frontal cortex, a region of the brain associated with paranoia.

"THC is switching off that regulator,'' McGuire said, effectively unleashing the paranoia usually kept under control by the frontal cortex.

In another study being presented at the conference, a two-day gathering of mental health experts discussing the connections between cannabis and mental health, scientists found that marijuana worsens psychotic symptoms of schizophrenics.

Doctors at Yale University in the U.S. tested the impact of THC on 150 healthy volunteers and 13 people with stable schizophrenia. Nearly half of the healthy subjects experienced psychotic symptoms when given the drug.

Schizophrenia is a genetic disorder involving failed production/reception of neurotransmitters.

When they start losing their minds, they DO crave pot. I've watched it quite a few times. I think it's an important indicator of the future. You can see that their desire to smoke it borders on 'Reefer Madness'.

In fact (after seeing "A Beautiful Mind" I tracked down and checked up on a friend from college who smoked seventeen joints a day, listened to the Rolling Stones at concert level, and solved math problems that nobody had ever solved before (the boy was a freshman and in his first semester, he went past the top-level doctoral seminar's assignment).

Given how much pot he smoked, and the other circumstances, I wondered if he were ok.

He's fine. He has a wife and kids and a job in the bay, actually.

He just REALLY liked the Stones, pot, and math.

It seems to be a thing with high-level mathematicians. Many have said it really helps them envision some of their solutions.

It does tend to mess up arithmetic, though. If you are going to balance your checkbook, have a glass of wine instead.
