Something makes me think the whole incident was translated prior to reporting.

I would use the headline "stupid pot smokers" or perhaps "1st instance of violence associated with MJ!" or could it be about the fourth one of the day!

Are we blaming this on immigrants and marijuana?
People don't usually pistol whip someone over a marijuana pipe... a meth pipe or crack pipe is more believable, but a pot pipe?
I think its very interesting how 'detailed' the report is.
Why didnt they mention how big his 'stash' was?

... just a few thoughts

One of the charges against Mendez was "making terrorist threats."
To call what Mendez did "terrorism" trivializes the real thing.

Had to be a drug related issue. Friends don't threaten friends with guns.

See what happens when local law enforcement makes the blunder of announcing to the world that when it comes to pot growers we look the other way. People whose morals are subject to the wind came here from all over the US just to grow their pot and share their violence.

We all owe a big thanks to the Mendocino County Sheriffs Dept.

im just wondering if you're telling ME ~ to 'go home'?
i AM home, my family is NATIVE to california, before the gold rush, before 'the discovery of america'.
CALIFORNIA is HOME to my ancestors and the last time i checked, mexico was also originally part of our land. Are you ready to work the fields? Are you willing to work for low wages @ fast food restaurants, or cleaning hotels & schools?

Educate yourself, stop with the 'GO BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM' mentality~ or better yet, try going back to where YOU CAME FROM.

There was nothing in the article that stated that anyone was 'growing pot' or an immigrant.

I'm curious why you are so quick to blame a domestic violence situation on pot growers and 'illegal immigrants'.

perhaps you're both correct and simply thinking of two different people; i would imagine Angel Mendez is a pretty common name in hispanic culture
