Save Mendo wrote: <quoted text> You mean how stupid, they knew, of course they knew! I lived two houses down from a person who grew a "legal" amount of weed and I could smell it. They knew they were just too dumb, scared, or ignorant do do or say anything. Now that, that is sad. Before Measure B many people did not report because they thought, often correctly, that nothing would be done. Now that law enforcement knows they have public support and a DA who will file charges, they are more than willing to do their jobs. If you are a commercial grower/dealer, it is only a matter of time. What ya gonna do when they come for you?

FB-Grower wrote: 15 plants outdoors 250 indoors Set up a county assyer to buy the crop of each grower. Assyer would sell crop to legal clubs or and/or distribute directly to adults only for recreational use or medical use with no presciption needed. Tax the crop 20%- 10% from buyer 10% from seller. Use the tax money to pay for the tuition of ANY kid who graduates from a Mendo County Highschool too go to any college or tech school of their choice. DO SOMTHING POSITIVE FOR OUR COUNTY and WORLD MENDO County is THE BEST PLACE YOU CAN LIVE. Make it better not meaner :) FB Grower is an admitted grower/dealer who is only interested in protecting his illicit profits. FB Grower knows the county can't effectively impose a tax system as long as we have federal prohibition. FB Grower is legally obligated to pay federal income taxes now on his illegal profits but does not. FB Grower is nervous now that the police are targeting commercial growers.

I hate what the commercial growers have done to the area as far as the increase in crime. But I don't think that creating more laws is the answer either. If that were true then we should just outlaw stupid, mean, and greed. Repealing Measure G so we are no longer a haven for commercial growers was a good start on outlawing stupid, mean and greed.

Vowel Movement wrote: <quoted text> Sorry for interjecting here... but the proceeds from the sale of the house could have gone anywhere. It was most likely reinvested into another home to avoid capital gains. Yes, money was spent on basic costs of living and worker's wages, but from the sheer volume confiscated, it would appear as if vastly more money was being created than was being spent. My point here, if I can be allowed to make one, is that larger scale commercial growers do more harm than the good their money brings into our communities. Commercial growers are not, by and large, here out of a sheer love for our communities. Their methods demonstrate this point. Before you go gettin' yer panties in a bunch... think about the point that we're debating. It is simply my position that larger scale commercial growers, such as the ones that lost their income generator in this article, do more harm than good. If you have some specific evidence and you feel you can objectively refute that point, have at 'er. Even the pro grower marijuana lobby now concedes that the large commercial growers are bad, but they still try to justify it on economic terms. The other side of the coin is that the smaller commercial growers are often creating serious public safety and nuisance impacts to their neighbors. Many of the coommercial grower/dealers from large to small, have proven themselves to be poor neighbors. Now the tide has turned. And instead of supporting reasonable regulation, the growers continue to defend unregulated growing.

Get A Grip wrote: You are certainly entitled to your opinion. Just like those of us that choose to grow... and to hold down a regular job, volunteer for various non-profits, donate money to food banks and shelters, pay my taxes and keep money and services local. I am sure that you are just as civicly-minded; but tolerance is apparently not one of your strong points. I think it's time to separate the commercial growers from the rest and it appears that the task force has been doing just that. <quoted text> If you sell you are a commercial grower. If you sell you are required to pay federal income taxes. If the growers were more tolerant of the rights of their law abiding neighbors we might not be having this discussion.

I want to take over the forums by posting 100 times more than anyone else. I will use cut and paste to save time. I also won't be able to post just once so expect multiple posts in a row. I will effectively get all the attention until everyone quits reading any post with my name involved. I am wonderful and am so proud of myself
