Just loved Pinches and Colfax's response of how the county should be dealing with the 10,000 plant patches, instead of wasting time and money busting "mom and Pops" gardens.
Colfax relays that we should go back to reading the constitution. Pinches says that Measure G was to put the pressure on the large gardens, Measure B worries about the 6-25 plant gardens while 10,000 plant gardens are sucking the eel river dry, he says again " no I don't mean sucking the eel river down, I'm talking about these large gardens sucking the eel river dry". he futhers "were sitting here worrying about gardens of 6-25 plants while there are hundreds of 10,000 + plant crops"

United States District Attorney Carey has received a telegram from the Sheriff of Mendocino County informing him that he was gathering a posse to Capture Captain Shaw, whom US General Howard had sent in command of United States troops to eject sheep herders and others from the Round Valley Indian Reservation in this State. The telegram also states that the State Court had issued a writ of injunction ordering Captain Shaw to desist from removing the trespassers. District Attorney Carey advised US General Howard to order Captain Shaw to surrender to the Sheriff, which General Howard declined to do without an order from the President or the Attorney General at Washington, in which he states that, if the Sheriff persists and General Howard continues to refuse, it will probably result in bloodshed.

Interesting the Sheriff would acknowledge this issue yet he still hasn't addressed the issue of the Cox Lawsuit. He still hasn't addressed the lack of deputies for the Covelo Area. He hasn't addressed the Suspicious Deputy Suicides.
He hasn't addressed the Alchoholism among deputies of the Sheriffs Department.
The only thing I have heard the Sheriff address is pot. Not Meth, not the $1,000,000 civil rights which names Allman personally and the County of Mendo.

Isn't there greater priorities to address rather than drop a press release stating "were not busting legitimate marijuana gardens"?
Everyone knows the big fish are left to swim while the small fish are sent to jail. It's the families and small mom and poppers who are getting busted.

Meanwhile as our own County Supervisor Pinches said: "there are hundreds of 10,000 + plant crops" -Johnny Pinches

Don't be fooled, these guys are out busting small growers while the helicopters fly right by the 10,000 plant patches.

Our own supervisors said there are 100's of 10'000+ plant patches. But these fools hear wanna keep harassing and sending their neighbors to jail for small "mom and pops" gardens.

The CEO's Office has determined that the Sheriff's Office requires $11,069,108 to operate but Sheriff Tom Allman said his internal numbers differ drastically from those calculated by the CEO's office.

Whoa did I read that Correctly!
$11,069,108 Per year to operate!!

and Sheriff Allman is complaining that $11,069,108 isn't enough, he'll be back in January.

This is a serious waste of funds when you consider how many deputies you see patroling in circles with brand new cars, 8 cylinders by the way. What are the fuel percentages??

Whoa!! That could do alot of other things for our county, imagine how much of those funds go strictly for eradication efforts.

"If the board approves the budget as written I'll walk out of here happy, but you have to be ready for me to come back to you in January," Allman said.

Allman said he was willing to take the county's guarantee that he would remain fully funded but would otherwise have to take other measures to keep the Sheriff's Office afloat financially, including coming back to the board for additional funds.

"The most important thing I need is your commitment that no matter what number you give me today, the Sheriff's Office will continue to operate at the level that the citizens of this county expect," he said.

Without that commitment, Allman said he would have to stop recruiting resident deputies for areas such as Covelo and Anderson Valley in order to maintain current levels of staffing. The Sheriff's Office has 47 deputies, the same number it has had since 1973.
