Deputy files suit over Covelo workplace

Wonder if Cox works well with others in his current assignment. I doubt it. Sounds like a whiner.

What was Allman doing when all this stuff was happening? Im sure it was brought to his attention but he was too busy trying to get the votes for election. Two deputies are deceased and Barney is put back as Cox's supervisor? Sounds like Deputy Cox lost his family due to this crap and was reassigned to get away from it. Now Allman puts Barney back incharge of Cox? What is going on here?

Sounds like "Ukiah Native" might be a witness?? Or maybe the wife of a witness?? Or maybe a nosey nancy who sticks their nose in everyones business. Or maybe a sore loser?? We know who you are.

"WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE" SOUNDS LIKE A THREAT. Typical Mendocino management...poor. Whether MCOE or MCS...employees are put in difficult and unprofessional situations...when they use the chain of command they are labeled whiners or not team players and brushed off. People talk about the power of the police union or teachers union...as a county teacher...I've seen neither power or much of a union. Managers in this county keep their jobs for decades while in more urban areas people are moved in and out...sounds like some top management at sheriff and MCOE should be moved out!

Pay him off. There is no way to win this and there can not be another suspicious death or then powers higher than we would like will be coming in like a storm no one can handle.

I happen to know Jason Cox quite well and he is a respectable man. Had he not been those he ...his wife would have been dead long before they took their on life. The master above knows all about it and there are a few more who will in the end pay for there wrong doings. In the court of law it will all come to light and once again we will see for our self how the cops operate. Good going Jason

I'm sorry I'm trying to figure out what you just wrote beside being on Coxs side because you know him. Guess what I know Barney, and I think he's a great guy. To bad everyone doesn't know what drove Gore and White to do what they did, then again it's probably better that everyone doesn't know. those men suffered enough. But, maybe Gore could have used some family support, which he didn't have,not to mention the department leaving him hanging out to dry. White had some major issues of his own too, and none of them had to do with Barney!

Why dont the Mendocino Police Department do what all the other departments around the world do and do drug tests on these out-of-line cops following a smooth firing.

All the law enforcement around here is abusing steroids and sexually harrassing women along the highways. I know people that witnessed such incidents among other bad things including extortion, death threats,... etc.

this community needs to wake up and realize whats going on behind the scenes. Quit being blind from the truth!

This is bull **** i am Brett whites daughter and friends with the gores and the Barney's. why wont you guys just stop talking about them and let Eric and my dad rest in peace and first of all my dad would never drink and drive either would Shannon they where always wanting to teach people to do the right thing over the bad.And for Jason the things he said to my dad i blame some of my dads death because of it. i was trying to forgive him because he was like a second dad to me i watched his kids we went on trips together and now he is doing this again Jason just stop please. how can my family heal or the gores i know you have a heart so use it stop being so cruel. yes jason i know my dad would of never call you and taunted you but if i was my dad i would of because of what you said.

and also my dad was not the only guy she was sleeping with there was guys from Chico coming to covelo looking for her. i saw the pics she brought back and they weren't just friends and no not good going jason this is awful

to me it sounds like this is just a cover up for what had happen to those to indian boys in covelo who were killed on that mountian those two cops killed themselves because they could'nt live with the guilt of what had happened to those boys and the ring leader just get to jump from job to job intil everyone fogets about what had happen those cops had to look those families in the face everyday and they could'nt handle it that is what i think

I missed the article on your dad's suicide, why did he kill himself?

well one of the things where jason was my dads best friend and when my dad told him something all my dad was worth was a bullet to the head and just other things, this is not the truth this bull **** jason just dosent want to admit what really happened, yes jason can be a good guy when hes on the right path

Brittany, I am sorry for your pain. As you know, I always tried to look out for you. Your dad was someone I cared deeply about. I cannot control what is being published. I'm sorry for the pain any of it causes you or your family, including your mother. You are a wonderful person and I hope you learn from the terrible attrocities that you have seen. Look at what changed (in you) after you got that dog, Jason - then ask yourself why no wife, no promotion....NEXT, you'll be wanting to blame this lawsuit for why you can't get hired anywhere else. When actually its your propensity for blaming others rather than facing up to your OWN problems. Pity about the innocent victims in your wake ..

my question is this... why in the world is all this being made public,dragging everyones name thru the mud? Police are humans like the rest of us,but they have a gun and badge and have a job to do. Whomever let all this out in the public should be ashamed of themselves.

Listen, bottom line is we need an independant look at our Sheriff's Office. Theres a lot of things that just get swept under the rug that need to be investigated. This is the 2008, the good ol' boys crap does not work anymore. We also need to take a serious look at who we voted to be our Sheriff. I'm my eye, Allman is nothing but a political circus act. He is far from a worthy law enforcement officer. He'd throw his own mother under the bus to get a vote.
