Codefendant says teacher not part of pot grow
Jeff Burrell, the Ukiah teacher arrested on charges of marijuana cultivation last week, may not have been involved in that garden, according to a statement signed by his codefendant, Steven Laino, 46, of Ukiah.

either the codefendant is being paid to take the fall, or the UDJ and the UPD are misrepresenting what happened. It wouldn't be the first time the cops and press mislead the public.

Seems like Eyster is more interested in the court of public opinion than the court of law. Looks like a small city attorney trying big city tactics. Present your case in court Eyster, or are you held to a lower standard than the DA.

Lets see, one guy get busted and tells all and then the second guy's lawyer has the first guy recant his statement and swear to the new story "under penalty of perjury .."
Firstly the storyteller is an admitted crook. His believability went down the toilet. Secondly, the lawyer that obtained this new written cofession that would seemingly distance his client from crime , in my opinion, is guilty of tampering with a witness (crook #1). Maybe the legal counsel needs to spend alittle time in the cross-bar hotel also .... along with the partners in crime. |

He leased the place, paid the bills, and knew exactly what was going on. Can you honestly believe that he wasn't taking in part of the money made from the sells? You people with bleeding hearts posting from all these places other then Mendocino county make me sick. You're the reason things are so out of hand, you're the reason violent crimes are on the rise.
