It is APOTHECARY MINISTRIES’ hope and desire to assist others on their spiritual journey as we continue on our own journey.

Both Rev. Jeanette and Rev. Bret have had the opportunity to travel the world and have seen many different native traditions and religious beliefs. After spending 2 weeks in Jamaica, they returned with a new understanding about culture, religion, and native traditions they never had known before.

It was then that they discovered what some have always known: everyone has their own belief system and who are we to tell them they are wrong?

One thing being a US citizen taught them was that everyone has the right to worship and believe in what they see is best for them and their life.

It was in 2004 they were determined to share their experiences with others by starting APOTHECARY MINISTRIES in Willits, California. Determined to spread their love and acceptance of other religious beliefs, the ministry started with the hope that people who share the same beliefs will feel welcome. For those who have been feeling ostracized or rejected for what they believe in, APOTHECARY MINISTRIES welcomes them with open arms, open hearts, and open minds.

Biography and Mission statement for Apothecary Ministries
Rev. Jeanette Bogue was raised in Washington State for 31 years. She attended catholic grade school from 4th grade through 8th grade, and graduated from Bellarmine Preparatory High School in 1989.
Rev. Bret Bogue was born in Tacoma, Washington in 1970. He lived in a very poor neighborhood until he was 5 years old. At 5, his mother and stepfather moved him, his little sister, and brother to Sandpoint, Alaska where he was one of a few white children in a village of 450 Aleut Eskimos. He lived in Alaska until the age of 9.
Living in the poor neighborhood and the Eskimo village as a child allowed Bret to experience other cultures in a way most of us never will. When Rev. Bret became an adult, this exposure to other cultures assisted in forming his current religious and cultural beliefs.
At 9, he returned to Gig Harbor, Washington, a predominately white, upper class neighborhood. As a youth, he traveled down a path of drug and alcohol abuse. Personal choices made as a teen led him into teen fatherhood, foster homes, drug rehabs, mental institutions, incarceration and welfare. During this time, his exposure to minority cultures as a child and his current living situation conflicted internally with how others were treated and viewed based on race, culture, and wealth, leading him to really question who he was.
It was an experience some would describe as “divine intervention” at age 23 that led to a “spiritual rebirth.” Dealing with inner demons related to abuse of alcohol and drugs, Rev. Bret asked “god” for help with his problems and turned his life over to him. This rebirth ended in sobriety for Bret. Sobriety, coupled with a diagnosis of a rare form of skin cancer at age 25 changed life as he knew it. Being told by doctors that the cancer he had (only 32 other cases diagnosed world wide and no survivors) would most likely end his life, he chose to fight. He is now cancer free, alcohol free, and on a new path in life.
During this time, Rev Bret was using cannabis as a recreational drug. Through the recreational use, he discovered the medical and spiritual use of cannabis to be life-saving and life-changing. His and his wife’s yearly attendance at Seattle Hempfest opened the door to learning more and more about the health and spiritual benefits of cannabis.
The final event that changed their path in life was a trip to Jamaica in 2000. Being exposed to the Rastafarian belief and culture was as eye opening to Rev. Bret as his divine intervention had been. After years of searching for the right path, he now knew what his calling life was.
Rev. Bret and Rev. Jeanette decided in 2004 to expand their beliefs and move to California to start their ministry: APOTHECARY MINISTRIES.

Calpella, huh? Is there an actual CHURCH there? I wonder. Maybe a little altar in the middle of a big pot garden, perhaps? With little Haile Selassie pictures on it? Some cheap incense? You know... like patchouli?

I pray to the St. Marley that my smoke is da kine. Amen.

<roll eyes here>

Does the "church" take visitors? I would LOVE to see it. Call it purely a religious interest. Who do I need to talk to in order to arrange a visit? Friar Selldopetokids, perhaps?

O father, who smokes in heaven
How much be your drugs?
Will you give me some?
If I swear to be mum?
About the location of your garden in Mendo.
Give us this day, our daily fix
And forgive us our trespasses
As we intrude on properties to grow our dope
For thine is the kingdom of glorious drugs
Oh MAN!

So... did you find God in Jamaica, Reality Checker? Did he have natty dreads, a big blunt in his mouth, and say "Jah Rastafari" alot?
Free Clue: That was not God. It was just another stoned Jamaican. They have alot of them there. It IS Jamaica, after all.
Oh. Just so's you know... Rastas do not like white people. Quite the opposite. See, whites oppressed blacks in Jamaica, Africa, parts of Europe, and in the Americas.
Are you white, by chance? A white rasta?
A-hahahahahahahahahaha. Sure. Sure.
Is this YOU, Reality Checker?
That's as stereotypical of a statement as saying white people do not like Rastas. Marcus Garvey did say a lot of over the top things and said some things against Jews. The general premise of the movement was/is to preserve (and enrich) African culture while being equal in society. Could be called integration without assimilation.

You seem a little bigoted towards Rastafarians. Is this just an extension of a bias against Cannabis? I'm not sure if a federal judge will ever grant separation of church and state in regards to Cannabis as a sacrament. A judge in Italy did recently which was the first such case ever. Goes to show that people are thinking a little less like Richard Nixon every day.

No. It isn't. It is FACT. Rastas do not like white people. Go to Jamaica. Find out for yourself. The reason there IS a rastafari cult, is to rebel and organize against, you guessed it, WHITE PEOPLE. The more militant variety would just as comfortable killing white people, as looking at them.

Gooooood morning Mendocino!
What a GREAT morning it is, isn't it?
A nice day for the TRUTH.

So, how 'bout it, REALITY CHECKER? How 'bout gracing us with a little truth? Are you Jeanette Bogue? You know, the self-proclaimed "minister" of "Apothecary Ministries". The operator of "Apothecary Travel", that offers NORML and marijuana "tours".

Is hubby Brett Bogue? Does he spoof IP addresses? Is he a "minister" at "Apothecary Ministries" too? What is the court case about, hmm?

Mendocino is ready for some truth. Some "reality".

I get confused. First the growers are praising allman and lintott, now they want them recalled. What happened recently to change all this? There must be things happening behind the scenes (out of the paper or media) that is firing this recall issue up.

Lintott/Allman have busted a few people, and are seizing properties. The DOPE GROWERS want COMPLETE meat puppets.... those who will NEVER make busts, or seize properties, hence this recall attempt. They bought and paid for most of our civil servants, and they want to get their moneys worth.

Do you actually know any Rastafarians? Have you been to Jamaica

Many black Rastas have white Rastafarian wives/husbands. That doesn't seen like hate to me. The Rastafarian movement is militantly opposed to "Babylon" and they do hate "white people" if you consider that to be your average Joe Protestant who looks down on them.

The only people who equate being a Rastafarian with hating white people are ignorant white people. It is true that the Rastafarians do dislike the mainstream white culture which attempts to force assimilation on them. I'm sure Rastafarians don't appreciate the fake Rastas and "trustafarians" who wear the hairstyle but do not eat in the "I-tal," etc. Not even Marcus Garvey "hated white people" as his main thing was to be considered equal to the white man but still be able to be a black man.

If you don't want to sound like a racist, sort the facts out from your own prejudice.
