It's Realilty Checker's poll. Now, she argues with it? Why post it if they are manipulated? What point would it serve? Why post it and then discredit it? On what basis is it being discredited? Because the numbers aren't favorable? Why would anyone care enough to vote twice?

That is EXACTLY what you, Watcher, Mongo and all the others have been doing. Multiple names, spamming the heck out of everything, posting under other's people's names to make them look stupid, etc. Just look at the above posts - almost ALL of them are anti-pot spam. In fact I haven't seen any pro pot spam coming from anyone other than sue in quite a while.
So where is this grand conspiracy of pro pot spammers, hmmm? The hypocrisy and stupidity that comes from some of you people never ceases to amaze me. You know damn well that none of your arguments are in any way based in reality, science or fact, to you have to resort to these sort of tacts. It is very obvious that if you must do this to further your argument that you have already lost the debate, and you KNOW it.
Actually, it is Think (so-called) who has lost the debate, as well as all perspective. Notice he says he hasn't seen "any pro pot spam coming from anyone other than sue in quite a while."

Really? The pro-pot spammers have been relentless in spamming this forum and routinely hit 10-30 threads at once with the same identical message.

Marijuana apparently interferes with the ability of the grower/dealers to tell the truth.

Apparently Mendocino is not the only place having trouble with Pot Growers. This is just one more way that the lies of pot growers can affect innocent people.
__________

Dogs Killed In Raid On Mayor's Home / AP

Mayor Cheye Calvo got home from work, saw a package addressed to his wife on the front porch, and brought it inside, putting it on a table.

Suddenly, police with guns drawn kicked in the door and stormed in, shooting to death the couple's two dogs and seizing the unopened package.

In it were 32 pounds of marijuana. But the drugs evidently didn't belong to the couple.

Police say the couple appeared to be innocent victims of a scheme by two men to smuggle millions of dollars worth of marijuana by having it delivered to about a half-dozen unsuspecting recipients.

The two men under arrest include a FedEx deliveryman; investigators said the deliveryman would drop off a package outside a home, and the other man would come by a short time later and pick it up.
__________
If the pot dealers hadn't lied, would any of this have happened?

I must say also, there are many promoting education, while also complaining about "police states", and stating that the government needs to go after the "demand" side of the drug equation. Inane.

That IS a police state. In a police state, the government GOES AFTER DEMAND. The government "educates" to decrease demand. The government polices "thought crime", a synonym for "demand".

Those here complaining about "police states", civil liberty concerns, and telling folks to prosecute "thought crimes" are also advocating a police state.

In a democratic republic, it is not the responsibility of the government to tell your children how to think. The government pursues the SUPPLY side of the drug equation, because it is there where the crime exists. They do not arrest people for "wanting" a drug, also called "thought crimes", or "demand".

Some of these folks really need to take the time to read "1984" again, sober. It appears as if they do not understand the meaning of "police state", "thought crime" (demand), or the differences between a police state and a democratic republic.

Just an observation.

Law and Order

Don't be fooled, the Yes on B community is the Minority in Mendocino. They passed Measure B using their tactics of misinformation and lies.

Measure B is not being enforced currently and it will not be enforced any time in the near future if at all according to J. Pinches
Measure B is not being enforced because it is unconstitutional under the California Constitution, and the National Constitution.

The fascist Measure B Coalition seeks to turn the good people of Mendocino County who grow a personal garden and Medical Marijuana Patients into felons and criminals by means of reversing the Marijuana Laws that the good people put into law. Thats right, they seek to overturn the laws which have decriminalized marijuana and put marijuana at the bottom of the list of priorities for law enforcement. Instead of Combatting the Meth, Coke and Speed which is destroying our Mendocino County communities,

The Measure B Coalition seeks to lock up and throw away the keys of your neighbors, families, friends, and entire community.
The Measure B Coalition seeks economic poverty to provide "cheap labor", a means of keeping Mendocino County families underpaid and poor while traditionally "ELITE" families prosper off the hard work of Mendocino Citizens.
They do not like the fact that Minimum Wages in the Mendocino Trimming business start at $25 per hour.
Don't be fooled by prohibitionist seeking a Police State and poverty in Mendocino County.
Keep Mendocino Prosperous FREE and GREEN!

Thats why we have written a Ballot initiative to repeal Measure B- even

Drugs Kids And Marijuana
Drug Free America 20050423

With the Supreme Court marijuana case (Raich v. Ashcroft) verdict looming, the ruling may have serious impact on young people. How do states’ rights concerning legalizing so-called medical marijuana affect children?

History has shown that when teens perceive marijuana as the dangerous drug it is, the usage rates among youth decrease.
As parents today struggle to keep their children drug free, it is important that they should arm themselves with the facts about the dangers of marijuana and be aware of the deceptive campaigns that attempt to legitimize this illicit drug.
These campaigns that promote smoked marijuana as medicine, coupled with decriminalization and normalization in the media, have contributed to the increased use of marijuana and other drugs by young people.
The National Household Survey on Drug Abuse and Health is one of the most reliable sources that delineate numbers by state.

One finding relevant to this issue is between 1999 and 2001, marijuana use by juveniles increased 12.2% nationwide.

It is startling that this national average is far exceeded in states that have legalized marijuana as a so-called medicine.

California and Colorado had an increase that was double the national rate, Hawaii had quadruple the rate and Maine experienced a whopping 54.4% increase-about a 175 times higher rate. Additionally,

it is frightening to note that between 1992 and 2001, there was a 49% increase in adolescent admissions to treatment programs, and marijuana abuse treatment rose from 23 to 62% of admissions.

Also, nearly 50% of youth between the ages of 12 to 17 in drug treatment are there for marijuana addiction. For more information on recent studies like this one, please visit our library.

This issue is an extremely important one to consider. If the U.S. Supreme Court makes an exception for the so-called patients who claim marijuana is a medicine, it will open the door to widespread marijuana use and fraudulent claims of illness for all drug users.

It will have devastating effects on society as a whole - especially millions of families struggling to raise children in a drug-free environment and addicts battling to break free of the deadly grip of drug addiction.

Clearly this is not a benign drug.

"It will have devastating effects on society as a whole - especially millions of families struggling to raise children in a drug-free environment and addicts battling to break free of the deadly grip of drug addiction."

I especially like the last sentence. This marijuana problem has gone way beyond a few people using it for "medicinal" purposes. To argue otherwise is inane. All this RC spam, and spam by others extolling the wonders of marijuana are simply blowing cannabis smokescreens to cover THIS TRUTH. Marijuana is NOT being used medicinally, by the majority of people in the county, or to those who get it all across the country. Children are not smoking it to cure hangnails. Heck... many here admit they smoke it recreationally. Of course they do. To sit and argue it is "medicine" and therefore we need to liberalize drug laws is just, well... stupid.

The reality: this DRUG is being used recreationally. It is bringing in BOATLOADS of money. People have realized that they no longer have to work for a living, and are cashing in. As a result, more "medicine" is polluting the county, and the rest of the country... who do not have "compassion" laws, and want nothing to do with Mendocino's "medicine". This drug trade puts cops in other cities lives at jeopardy, to deal with the trafficking. It hurts children, and breaks up families. It leads to other abuses. There are far more ills that it causes, than ills that it "cures". Fact is, it doesn't "cure" anything. No one smokes a joint, and is "cured". If that was the case, it would be sold in pharmacies, with other drugs that DO cure.

Call it was it is: a big dollar recreational drug.

4 tons marijuana, 805 pounds cocaine seized
By Gene Johnson / AP 20060630

BELLINGHAM, Wash.– U.S. and Canadian authorities said they have broken up smuggling rings that used air drops to move tons of drugs across the border, a method that has become more prevalent with tightened security at traditional crossings.
In the past two years, authorities have arrested more than 40 people, and seized roughly 4 tons or $24,000,000.00 of marijuana, 805 pounds of cocaine, three aircraft and $1.5 million in cash.
During a news conference Thursday at the Bellingham International Airport, officials played surveillance video from a camera hidden in a remote clearing in the Okanogan National Forest to illustrate the smugglers' methods. It showed a helicopter with hundreds of pounds of marijuana lashed to its skids swooping in before dawn last summer, unleashing its load without landing, and flying off again. A man was waiting at the clearing with a pickup truck.
“The smugglers are exploiting the terrain after we put a lot of pressure at the ports of entry,” said U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Special Agent Peter Ostrovsky, who worked the case.
Leigh Winchell, special agent in charge of Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Seattle, said the smugglers have been so brazen that they took a reporter for Playboy magazine on drug-running flights.
Playboy published an article last July describing smuggling operations similar to the ones described by border agents. In it, one smuggler was quoted as boasting that they were “better than Fed-Ex” and could deliver “anywhere in the state of Washington.”
“I don't read Playboy magazine,” Winchell said.“But I would be lying if I said we didn't take it as an affront.”
U.S. Attorney John McKay said ring leader Robert Kesling has been sentenced to 17 years in federal prison. More than a dozen others have already been sentenced – including Mark Vanderveen and James White, lawyers who accepted drug money as payment – and others are awaiting trial or sentencing.
Drug smuggling operations based in British Columbia that were targeted in the investigation used helicopters and airplanes to drop drugs at prearranged sites throughout the region, including locations in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest and the North Cascades National Park, officials said.
Julie Myers, Homeland Security assistant secretary for immigration and customs enforcement, said the means the smugglers used showed a measure of desperation in response to beefed-up security on the ground.
“They couldn't walk across the border. They couldn't drive across,” she said.
In many cases, the pilots involved were inexperienced and unlicensed. In the past 13 months, two helicopters crashed, killing three people.
During the investigation, U.S. and Canadian enforcement teams intercepted more than 17 drug shipments, including one in February 2005 involving five suitcases packed with more than 328 pounds of cocaine. It was the largest cocaine seizure in Washington state last year.

Parents Accused of Rewarding Sons With Pot
CHANDLER, Ariz / AP 20060611

Arizona police arrest two parents accused of giving marijuana to their sons as a reward

Police have arrested two Chandler parents accused of giving marijuana to their young sons as a reward for good behavior.

Toni Lynn Carlson, 31, and Aaron Virgil Carlson, 23, were booked on suspicion of possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia, possessing marijuana for sale, contributing to the delinquency of minors and endangerment, police said Friday.

The couple were taken into custody Thursday night after detectives served a search warrant at their home and found a quarter-pound of marijuana.

Police said the boys _ ages 12 and 11, and a 4-year-old girl _ were in the care and custody of a family member.

The investigation began after authorities received tips from a neighbor about the possible usage and sale of drugs at the home, police said.

Detectives didn't know about the family possibly smoking marijuana together until the parents and children were interviewed.

Also under investigation is the possibility the Carlsons supplied drugs to other children, police said.

6-Year-Old Minn. Boy Brings Pot to School
AP 20060526

ST. PAUL, Minn.(AP)-- When a teacher asked a 6-year-old boy to pull a folder out of his Scooby-Doo backpack, a bag filled with 25 smaller bags of marijuana fell out instead, a court document said.
The teacher gave the drugs to a school administrator, who called police. Before officers arrived at HOPE Community Academy, the boy's father showed up. He took the backpack from his son and quickly walked away, according to a criminal complaint.
The father was later arrested and told investigators he hid the marijuana in the backpack, and left it in a bedroom closet. When he discovered the backpack was missing, he ran to his son's nearby school.
Corey Randle, 29, was charged Thursday with a fifth-degree drug-sale charge.
