Industrial marijuana growing is not something I favor; the closest it has come around here so far is plantation style growing (I don't like that either). During WW2 there WERE combines adapted for harvesting industrial hemp, and industrial hemp production probably IS entirely industrialized in Canada.

The industrialization of marijuana will put independent small growers out of business, which is why many of us like the current situation of State legalized MedMar. If the Feds legalize, your OG Kush will be replaced by Marlboros - ugggh.

We do have a local marijuana industry which is comprised of many small scale independent operators who carry out all of their work by hand; maybe mechanized to the extent of using a tiller or backhoe. That's a pretty human scale activity, and I applaud it when people are savvy about not pissing off their (sometimes not very good) neighbors.
