Ain't "democracy" grand? REGISTER and then VOTE! Don't let only 12% of the electorate make law. Well if all the stoners had any brain cells left and their short term memory wasn't gone maybe they would have remembered to vote! Dude Where's my car?

Measure B will be tossed out on constitutional grounds. Even the repeal of the PERSONAL USE, measure G wont stand on the same constitutional grounds, as measure G was brought by the people, and measure b was brought by the supervisors. The only way to repeal measure g for non medical patents is a VOTER brought initiative. We shall see

Old Uncle Dave,
Democracy is alive and well, everybody had a chance to vote and what makes you think all the people who didn't vote were no on b's?(besides the short term memory thing) Suck it up and deal with it.

This article (unlike the Press Demo article) does mention that the so-called "final election report" posted online right now isn't definitive, but it doesn't really explain how non-definitive these initial results could be! If this election is like the last few elections we've had here in Mendo County, there are many, many ballots still to count. In the February election here in February this year, a full ONE-THIRD of the final total number of ballots remained to be counted after the "final election night report" with 100% of precincts reporting that today's UDJ story is based on. This is thanks to the previous voter registrar changing many precincts to mail-in-only voting, and since a lot of those voters do not want to vote early, they drop their ballots off at the polls on Election Day. And those ballots aren't yet counted. So supporters of Measure B -- I wouldn't celebrate yet. If there's anything close to one-third of the ballots remaining to be counted, with the slim 4-point margin we see right now, there is plenty of room for a turnaround in the final results.(just like the "final election night report" in February 2008 showed Clinton winning the Dem Primary in Mendo County, but the final report showed that Obama had actually won.) And if that does happen, I'm hoping that some of the bigwigs in the county who supported Measure B, will finally realize there's a problem with our Voter Registrar's office counting so many of our ballots so late these days, and request/require that the registrar's office count all the absentee and provisional ballots as soon as they can, and then issue an interim report, not waiting until the final certification 28 days after the election. the 4 people of our household took in our ballots yesterday...you mean we haven't been counted?

[Hamburg said no matter what the results of the election were, it would be counted as a victory by No on B because the campaign had created a dialogue about marijuana in Mendocino County.]
Laura Hamburg = The Hilary Clinton of Mendocino County.
The dialogue has been there. You lost, get over it.

You have to look for the rabid drooling nature of the beast to know the mad dog from the guard dog. Tom (whom I spoke with yesterday, and fulfilled my promise to LEAP to hand deliver their pamphlet and DVD), is as far as I can tell, just a Sheriff. I suspect he'll jail the people he's paid to jail, pretty much. http://leap.cc has the same info, if you'd like to see what I brought him. Lintott is a 'drug-warrior'. She's pretty rabid about it, and is absolutely willing to lie in order to get her way (see the story I posted with her statements on the 25 vs 6 plant limit that we elected her on): http://www.topix.net/forum/source/ukiah-daily... She's either lying then, or now (or both, IMHO). Help recall her at lintwit.com if you'd like. This weird stuff in Covelo NEEDS to be looked at by the state AG, IMHO. I don't trust anyone in this county to evaluate that situation fairly, and if you note the timing, it might well have been a planted issue to detract from any possible shift to 'No on B' by the Sheriff. I mean, I KNOW your side plays hardball. No reason to suspect the continuing dirty-tricks tradition isn't continuing. That's why, on the face, Les Crane's murder is a murder. It's not till you see the story that SIX MONTHS LATER they still hadn't bother to process the forensic evidence that it starts looking fishy. Science is an accumulation of fact over time, coupled with hypothesis fitting until one doesn't break. The theory that Les' murder is being investigated seems broken, actually. I guess we'll have to wait and see on all sorts of things now, won't we?

So we have a 701 vote difference and a 151 vote discrepancy in the count as of now according to the county's own count 701-151=550
Now if you count the people over the last 2 weeks that have been arrested and not allowed to vote.....20 minimum 550-20=530 Now the provisionals...... This isn't over by any stretch. MAKE SURE TO CHALLENGE THE VOTE COUNT.

MEASURE B IS ILLEGAL AND UNCONSTITUTIONAL! ROSS LIBERTY AND HIS BAND OF POLITICAL NAZI'S HAVE DONE IS CREATE A HUGE LAWSUIT BURDEN FOR THE COUNTY WAY TO GO REPUBLICAN FASCISTS!!! CHEW ON THIS: The state’s medical marijuana guidelines were ruled unconstitutional by California’s Court of Appeal May 22, 2008– a decision that makes most limits, including those in Measure B unenforceable. The decision, People v. Kelly, specifically struck down the same section of law cited in Measure B – Health and Safety Code Section 11362.77 – which sets default limits of six plants and eight ounces per patient. In effect, therefore, Mendocino County citizens are being asked to vote on a proposal that, if approved, would be illegal. The new decision is certain to spark a challenge to Measure B if it passes, clogging the courts and burdening local taxpayers, according to attorneys. “At this point, passing Measure B would create more problems than it would solve,” said attorney Myron Sawicki, who specialized in marijuana-related prosecutions with the Mendocino County District Attorney’s office for 23 years. Sawicki is the recipient of several awards in excellence for marijuana prosecution from the United States Drug Enforcement Administration and the Campaign Against Marijuana Production (CAMP). “Since there are no state guidelines anymore, why pass Measure B? It’s a waste of public funds,” Sawicki said.“Why spend the money? Even if this passes, it will result in spin-off litigation.” The California Appellate Court (Second District) ruled Thursday that state legislators overstepped their bounds in 2003 by limiting the amount of medical marijuana that patients could possess to six plants and eight ounces. The unanimous opinion in the Los Angeles court said legislators acted unconstitutionally when they passed a statute (known as SB 420) that effectively amended Proposition 215 -- also known as the Compassionate Use Act of 1996 (CUA). "The CUA can only be amended with voters’ approval. Voters, however, did not approve the eight-ounce limit and other caps… hence the section (11362.77) unconstitutionally amends the CUA,” wrote Justice Richard Aldrich in Thursday’s opinion. Text of the Kelly decision is available at: http://www.courtinfo.ca.gov/opinions/document ... Measure B has the same problem since it is based on the same six plant, and eight ounce limits, which were struck down by the Appeals Court.“As of today there are no state standards,” Sawicki said.“Everyone needs to go back to the drawing boards because if approved, Measure B will just add to the chaos and confusion.”. The Court’s decision means it will now be up to courts and juries to figure out how much marijuana medicine each patients needs, not legislators in Sacramento or voters in Mendocino County, according to Susan B. Jordan, a local criminal defense attorney and nationally renowned legal expert. “If it passes, the part of Measure B that asks voters to set a limit on the number of plants for Mendocino County patients or caregivers, is an illegal effort to put medical marijuana in the hands of the “politicians (who are asking for the support of the voters) and not in the hands of judges where it belongs,” Jordan said. “Unfortunately, Measure B will not be a way out for what we all agree is a big problem,” she said.“And now it turns out it will be thrown out by the Courts if it passes.”

He registered for a party that "wasn't recognized" and didn't know what a "primary election" was! HA! All he cared about was voting on Measure B. Too funny. I can't believe B pass by such a small margin. So, now all you dope growers need to leave our County. Take your drugs and crime somewhere else... how about San Jose? I heard they have a no limit canopy city ordinance. I don't think you know that some of these growers you hate, for some misguided reason, helped you pass B.Because they think if you run the competition out of the county the prices will go up. So you see you got some support for this measure from the greedy growers. The people you want to get rid of. Some of these people have made so much money they don't care if they get caught. They got a good defense fund. So all this does is hurt people who are trying to be reasonable. But this seems like a moot because of the court ruling. Strange world huh?

The big commercial growers are celebrating today.
Every recreational smoker who's now afraid to grow his own becomes a potential new customer.
Every hour the sheriff wastes going after a mom and pop garden is an hour *not* spent going after commercial grows (or meth labs).
The Mexican mafia says: "Thank you for voting Yes on B."
