“If a person were injected with 500 milligrams of caffeine [less than the dosage recently discovered in some 16-ounce Starbucks brews], within about an hour he or she would exhibit symptoms of severe mental illness, among them hallucinations, paranoia, panic, mania, and depression. But the same amount of caffeine administered over the course of a day only produces the milder forms of insanity for which we take tranquilizers and antidepressants.”
“For five years I worked in a team practice with physicians and psychotherapists. Often, the psychological evaluation would include one or more anxiety syndromes, and the recommendation was for counseling. I would point out that the person was consuming excessive amounts of caffeine and request a trial month off caffeine prior to therapy sessions. In about 50% of cases, the anxiety syndrome would resolve with caffeine withdrawal alone.” http://caffeineweb.com/... |

I'm noticing how hard it is for the 'yes on b' folks to discuss marijuana prohibition in general. Any of you want to try? Why should a plant that is non-addictive and much less harmful than alcohol be restricted more than alcohol?
|
|
Actually, you and I have "discussed" this. It came down to you not believing that a "yes on B" person could be against total prohibition, but for B because prohibition can't safely start at the local level if the state and federal governments don't follow suit. I support legalization, even though you try and tell me I don't. However, I feel it must happen at a minimum at the state level and therefore a separate fight than that associated with B. I know, I know, you are going to spout the rhetoric about grass roots, lead by example, blah, blah. That's fine, unless you live in the county and have family there. I do, and I want my family to be protected as equally by the law as their neighbors in other counties. John Thomas and NORML used the people of Mendocino as an experiment to spearhead their effort, that was inappropriate. Take the effort to the state and federal level, win the support of the people and get it legalized. |

Back in shrink school, I recall a study done using spiders to test the effect of various drugs. The alcohol spiders made really sloppy webs. The speed spiders made tight little webs. The LSD spiders made webs as tight as the speed spiders, but twice the size of a normal web. The cannabis spiders made webs that looked pretty much normal. The caffeine spiders, on the other hand, made the most atrocious webs you could possibly imagine. It was almost as if they had been painted by Picasso. There was no real center, and it looked almost like it was supposed to be a cubist representation of the contents of a truck full of ladders which fell off on the side of the road somewhere. On that note, as a computer programmer, I feel I MUST point out that, in addition to 'Jolt Cola'(all the sugar, and TWICE the caffeine), we also have a sort of 'mascot': Too Much Coffee Man! He's on hiatus now, but you can see the old stuff: http://tmcm.com/ |

According to Measure B - you can have 6 mature OR 12 immature and 8 oz of dried.....So you start with 12 immature, and they turn into 12 mature...so you will have to destroy 6 of them when they start to mature...then if you r lucky enough and you beleive what the yes on B folks state -( did any one see the one plant bigger than you picture they were showing people at the yes on B forums?) you would end up with 6 pounds THEN you would be forced to either SELL-( i.e. drug dealer ) OR destroy the remaing 5.5 lbs you wetre just allowed to grow....Is it me or is this the biggest **** circle you 've ever seen....the State and county must have been high themselves when they cam up with this one..... at least come up with some numbers that actually BALANCE!!!!!!!NORMALIZE MARIJUNA !!!

Legalization of medical marijuana has already happened at the state level and, with 80% of the U.S. voters supporting legalization at the federal level, it will probably happen within the next Congress. This country is taking baby steps toward decriminalization and then total legalization because four generations of voters have been brainwashed by government sponsored propaganda. What's changed is the internet. People now have access to real information, real scientific studies published all over the world, and the real scoop on how and why cannabis got criminalized by the politicians in the first place. The complaints voiced by Yes B voters about growing large medical marijuana grows in local neighborhoods can be resolved but Measure B would not have resolved it. It would only have punished MMJ patients, exposed them to more arrests/prosecutions than they are already suffering, and deprived them of their right to safe, affordable medication. |

Reality Check
Yes. We tried to discuss it before, but we never got past the part where I asked what you were so hysterical about being protected from. The mess in the woods doesn't count for much. We had the same thing during alcohol prohibition. Ending prohibition is the only way to end that. As Truth Seeker said, the growers you were worried about had way over 25 plants, so Measure B won't have any effect on them. There are hundreds of local pushes against marijuana prohibtion all over the country. It is the combination of them all that is bringing down the great fraud. Any person who really loves America's freedom would consider inconveniences there a small price to pay to secure our liberty and justice. Regulate marijuana no more harshly than alcohol. It's the only fair thing to do. |

Always looking for that high... |

Your arguments are tiring and repetitive. Your classification of hysterics is insensitive to those of us who have lived surrounded by commercial grows and the crime associated with them. It is the only way you have responded to my question of why it is inappropriate for us to expect equal protection of the law as provided to residents in surrounding counties. Why can’t my family be protected in the same manner the law provides in Lake County? Measure B places enforcement of the laws being broken by the commercial growers back on the priority list. In that sense it absolutely affects commercial growers, because at least they won’t have the comfort of thinking that the laws they are breaking will be of lower priority of the sheriff’s and DAs office in Mendocino County, as opposed to if they were in Lake County. Given the choice, where do you think an illegal commercial grower would choose to base his operations? Easy one, yet a factor continually ignored by your side. I agree that MJ should be regulated the same as alcohol. Alcohol prohibition was imposed, and then lifted by Constitutional amendments. If your local pushes are so successful, why was Mendocino the only county to go for nearly eight years with MJ laws as a low priority? You were unable to get Humboldt, Del Norte, Lake, etc. to follow suit and liberalize their MJ laws to the same degree in eight years, and you want me to believe complete legalization is just around the corner? Really? Then just get it done. I, and for that matter Measure B, am not standing in your way. However, might I suggest that hostility and insensitivity (i.e. suggesting that the protection of my family is just an “inconvenience”) are not helpful to your cause. |

Where do you get your information from that Mendocino voted for large commercial to be the lowest priority? Hmm...another exaggeration by the pro b side Measure g protects the MMJ patient's and the ma and pa caregivers not the large commercial grower. The sheriff department has continuously year after year have stated that their top priority is large commercial grows, violent crime and meth. It's time to legitimize the industry. Time to regulate time to certify that the medicine grown can be called medicine by guaranty of organic certification'. Time to create a new Legitimate "green cottage industry" That would create 1000's of jobs in county. Much needed revenue to Improve our school's. The sheriff would have the resources to provide the safety that you are looking for We would also have nicer road's. You could even break down the county's different neighborhood's into district's and those district's could vote on whether or not they want it in their neighborhoods. Time for Mendocino to take action and spearhead the industry less the feds and corporations Try to take over the industry and make a mess of thing's. This is the kinda "green cottage " industry We need in our county..in our state..in America With proper training and guidelines There would not be polluting With a regulated system you would not have people sucking water from one place and hauling by truck to another. Anyways as I'm sure you feel in you gut your measure B will be an epic failure It is not what our county wants. We want progress and don't want to take 1 step forward and 2 steps back. And most of us feel that if you don't like the smell MOVE! |

Thank you yes on B'ers, I have plenty of recomendations. As far as I can tell this might be the best summer out here in a while. With local cops like boss hog & roscoe picotrain who cares about yes on "b".

Not an exageration, here is the section you guys love to ignore: Sec. 9.36.040 Law Enforcement Priority of Cannabis. Through its budgetary authority, the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors shall seek to ensure that the Sheriff’s Office and the District Attorney give lowest priority to the enforcement and prosecution of marijuana laws.(Measure G-2000, passed Nov. 7, 2000.) As such, the laws that the commercial growers violate are to be the lowest priority. Again, where is a commercial grower going to go? How about the only county with the above code section? Doesn't take a genius... |

Why do you fail to mention the sections that follow? You know, these ones: Sec. 9.36.020 Purpose. The Ordinance codified in this Chapter will: (A) Instruct the County government to support all efforts toward the decriminalization of marijuana. (B) Instruct the County Sheriff and District Attorney to make marijuana enforcement their lowest priority with respect to other crimes. (C) Establish a maximum limit of plants and weight for cultivation and possession of marijuana for personal use in Mendocino County, and prohibit the expenditure of public funds for enforcement of marijuana laws against cultivators and users in possession of quantities below that limit. (D) Remove the fear of prosecution and the stigma of criminality from people who harmlessly cultivate and/or use marijuana for personal medical or recreational purposes. (E) Extend police protection to those growing or possessing marijuana for personal use. (F) Provide for the continued enforcement of marijuana laws against those who cultivate, transport and possess marijuana for sale. The purpose of this Chapter is to establish Cannabis enforcement policy for Mendocino County.(Measure G-2000, passed Nov. 7, 2000.) Section F is the best one, its where it still gives priority to illegal cultivation, and it specifically states "..provide for the CONTINUED enforcement..." Why do you fail to recognize this? Its directly on the Yes on b webpage. do you NOT believe it exists? |

Yet year after year the sheriff office
makes a statement stating OUR HIGHEST priority is going after Violent crime Meth large commercial grows. I don't like to ignore that section I love that section! And you will have to live with that section! Like i say the best way to get what you want is to legitimize it. Not make criminals out of good people. And once again if you cant stand the "stench" move. Move to a town with a pulp mill or an area that raises livestock. or mabey next to a field of non organic strawberries. Or mabey you would prefer in a town with a refinery. Not for you? well there is the city you must like smog ? no? not good enough? by an island you would be perfectly happy there. ohh no the stench of the sea life washing on the beach to horrid ohh how life smells to bad you cant just bust out a can of air freshener and deodorize the planet. |

This is the clause that is defined in the subsequent sections of the statement as twenty-five or less in giving them specific instruction. You guys leave out those 'specific instruction' sections to make the above mentioned clause seem scary. If the DA can't argue that (and I agree, she CAN'T for some reason, make that argument) then we need a new DA, NOT a new law. recall her: lintwit.com |
