My friend has been a card carrying medical marijuana patient in Mendocino County for ten years and has recommendations from three physicians who are treating him. He has no criminal record and has never had any involvement with illegal drugs. He was arrested in Mendocino County shortly after Lintott became D.A. and charged with felony possession with intent to sell for having 1.5 pounds of UNPROCESSED cannabis in his car. Lintott's office charged him and prosecuted him knowing full well he was a valid MMJ patient with extensive medical records showing he had been in treatment for the same chronic, life threatening disease for over 20 years. After a dozen pre-trial hearings and $22,000 in legal costs, the judge finally dismissed all charges against my friend. On that same day, the judge also dismissed charges against the FIVE other MMJ patients Lintott was prosecuting, over her office's objections.
Lintott ignored all California statutes and California Supreme Court and appellate court decisions by prosecuting all of these MMJ patients, including my friend. I am a witness to the fact that she is definitely abusing the power of her office and costing the taxpayers hundreds of thousands, maybe millions, of dollars prosecuting MMJ cases she knows will have to be dismissed under state laws. I think we should petition for a recall election and get rid of Lintott immediately.
why am I not surpised? I read that someone had a collective garden in rural land area, not residential, called leo for 3 YEARS to report garden, and was arrested with weed that was only cut down for 72 hours max and none was processed. Still being tried. total cost to attorneys and experts so far:$50,000 and still fighting! RECALL the BIOTCH NOW!

Vroman was apparently under investigation by the government (DEA or FBI i believe) for large scale marijuana cultivation. it was also widely reported that he had a penchant for firearms.
Why don't you start a Vroman topic if that is your interest? This one is about the current, living, DA.

I think its $20k to get her recalled. must be the cost of writing the petition and signature gathering. Definately worth looking into!

More sleezy propaganda from the Yes on B liars?

"Libertarian D.A. Norm Vroman Dies

Norman L. Vroman, Mendocino County District Attorney, died Thursday, September 21, 2006. He was 69 years old.

Mr. Vroman was born in Los Angeles in 1936, and raised by his adoptive parents in Pomona and San Dimas, in San Bernardino County.

Mr. Vroman’s career was long and distinguished. He began working as an ambulance driver and a volunteer fireman while still a teenager. He was hired by the Pomona Police Department when he was only 18 years old. Mr. Vroman was promoted to sergeant, became a La Verne City Councilman, and earned a degree from the University of LaVerne while working as a Pomona police officer.

Mr. Vroman earned his law degree from the University of Colorado in 1961, and accepted a job with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, where he ended up in charge of the county’s West Covina branch.

In 1971, when he was only 33 years old, Mr. Vroman was appointed by Ronald Reagan to the Pomona Municipal Court, becoming the youngest judge in the State of California.

Mr. Vroman moved to Mendocino County in 1975, where he sold real estate, hauled cattle, taught school, worked as a public defender, a judge pro tem, and as the Assistant District Attorney for the Mendocino County District Attorney’s Office.

Mr. Vroman was elected Mendocino County District Attorney in 1998. As District Attorney, his availability and accessibility to the people of Mendocino County and his commitment to the Constitution characterized his administration.

His wife, Raleigh Page-Russell of Hopland, daughter Kathryn Vroman Benner of Santa Paula, Ventura County, daughter Melissa Vroman of Glendale, Los Angeles County, son Brandt Vroman of West Linn, Oregon, a half sister, Denise Cook, of Lima, Ohio, and six grandchildren survive Mr. Vroman."

RIP Norm

Wow, recalling a District Attorney for wanting to prosecute criminals. This is truly a "seeing colors" and "Clockwork Orange" County (Translation: MORONS). Even your elated Measure G states that it is ILLEGAL TO PROFIT from the sale of marijuana.

So I guess what you all are saying is that you want the District Attorney to check with you before proceeding with criminal matters. Just in case there is some misunderstanding or illegal addition (not including the existing) to measure B that you failed to include in the first interpretation.

You guys crack me up and your desperation is juvenile at best. Keep crying..........

Wow Again, took fifty lashes for the whole Measure B and measure g typo. Anyway, why is it that every time that someone comes out against the so called "left" (in this county the dope growers) does it result in an immediate and violent response. I haven't heard anyone questioning the District Attorney as to her reasons for endorsing Measure B. All that I have seen is the typical "Sue them" and "Do whatever you can to restrict their voice". I expected as much from a bunch of criminals with guilty consciences, SO SUE ME..........
