Our DA's office is to blame for this guy getting back on the streets and hurting more young girls.

Are they that LAZY that they don't want to do their jobs? Isn't this a pretty cut and dry case? What a shame. What an embarrassment to this community. We should be OUTRAGED at the DA's office and hold the DA accountable come election time.

No one would plead to a felony charge like that(considering what will happen to him in prison)if there wasn't a lot of solid evedence against him. The mother and the daughter are not on trial, MS. Heath, are you trying to add more trauma to their lives. Accusing a 11 year old girl of a crime show makes you look very ignorant. How would you feel if you were that little girl NO ONE ASKS TO BE mistreated or MOLESTED.

Not ignorant at all "Mom2" you sound like a coward.
And "crime show makes" you sound uneducated. No one has been molested is the point I'm trying to make, but you sound to stupid to understand that! Save it.

Readers should notice that the story about this crime is "Most Viewed" on the Ukiah Daily Journal website, even though it is the LAST item listed in small type.
The regional Santa Rosa Press Democrat doesn't even HAVE a story -- which keeps the Fetzer name out of the press, except for this story. The only other coverage of Fetzer's child-rape was a PRO-Fetzer piece in the child-molester-friendly Boonville newspaper.
Ben Brown's article doesn't mention child-sex-offender registration for Fetzer (on Megan's List, mentioned in another comment here). Does the plea deal POSSIBLY provide for Fetzer to avoid registration?
The Mendocino County District Attorney's telephone number -- not listed in the telephone directory -- is four six three four two one one (Topix comments doesn't like phone numbers). Mailing address for DA Meredith Lintott is P.O. Box 1000, Ukiah, CA 95482.
It was in today's press democrat. Also in today's press democrat was the article about Burell being suspended. In that article, it stated that the 2nd man wrote a sworn statement to LEO that Burrell was not the instigator of this operation and did not finance it. If that is true, that he made those statements, how come the UDJ didn't print that information?

If he wasn't guilty and there wasn't solid evidence against him, then why did he plead quilty??????

in all honesty it often (but obviously not always) takes the UDJ a couple of days to get current news to print; this is not a new occurence and doesn't solely pertain to marijuana-related stories, so please try not to read too far into it.:)

So he wouldn't have to rely on people like "Mom2" to be on the jury at the trial. You read what is posted in the journal and you take it as the truth. You hear what the charges for an arrest were and you take it as the truth. I investigated, I spoke with the detective, I spoke with Ben Brown, I keep in contact with all the people involved in this. You do not. It is called a plea bargain it's the name of the game.

Heidi, trying to fight your battle here is futile. You won’t change the minds of posters. There is no point flaming others who bring forth their opinion. People can only go based on information given. Most long term residents of this valley know what a joke the UDJ is and how inaccurate and biased they can be.

For the little girls sake I hope your brother IS innocent, however I would never plea out to charges of child molestation if I was innocent, you have to admit that does not look good.

Just as in Jeff Burrell’s case, people slammed UUSD. Because Chris is a Fetzer your name is going to be slandered as well, it’s a given.

I wouldn’t spend too much energy here on this blog getting upset if I were you.

It is why I stay silent on issues such as this for the most part. I won’t comment with out the facts because I know to well that there is ALWAYS more to the story than meets the eye, or is printed in the UDJ.

Wow, kind of rude don't you think? Stop reading? I was actually being sympathetic to your plight. I have watched similar digressions happen on the Press Demo site and they never go anywhere.

Be that as it may, please then continue your defense on this worthless blog. One would hope you could spend your energy more effectively elsewhere than trying to convince a bunch of faceless people of their opinions here.

It was in fact friendly advice.

Good luck.

That would be wrong but nice try. I know this child and I know she is not to be trusted with anything she says. And the sad fact is I know my brother and he isn't as well so it's a lose/lose situation here people. I don't find myself hostile about this at all I'm just stating facts.

Heidi, I am inclined to believe the spirit of your claims considering personal exposure as to how the Mendo DA's office operates i.e. throw all the charges you can at an indivvidual and see what sticks. If the accused has little money, poor mental health (maybe due to drug use) or has simply given up on claims of innocence then the DA has another sexual predator conviction to show on her track record at re-election time.

But sadly I would hope this is the case as opposed to your brother being the monster he is accused of being.

I am not hiding behind any fake name here. I'll tell you one thing, if someone would have believed the teenage girls that my ex neighbor molested it would have saved my family alot of heart ache and spared my daughter from losing part of her innocence to a 50 year old man that to this day is not prosecuted because it is known only as a misdemeanor sexual battery charge. No justice for the victims! No wonder so many people take the law into their own hands.

Just a follow up to my last comment:

I just wanted to remind parents of a few alarming statistics. 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will be sexually abused by the age of 18. 90% of molestation cases involve relatives or friends/neighbors. Less than 67% of sexual assaults are reported to the authorities. Out of over 500,000 registered sex offenders in the United States approximately 100,000 live in California. And what about the abusers that we don't know about? California laws are very lenient for these people and I believe that's why they move here. For example, if a 52 year old man (who happens to be your neighbor at the time) puts his hands on your 14 year old daughter, in places they shouldn't be, it's considered misdemeanor sexual battery, an offense which he can not be arrested for. HMMM, a ticket to keep offending I ask? Nearly 70% of child sex offenders have between 1 and 9 victims and at least 20% have 1 to 10 victims. Something has got to be done to keep these offenders from getting their filthy hands on our children. Believe your child if he or she tells you something like this has happened. Support him or her and call the proper authorities. And unfortunately sexual predators don't always look like the big bad wolf, most of the time they look like the guy next door.

If this man weren't named "Fetzer", would he have gotten such a deal so quickly? After drugging and raping an ELEVEN-year-old?
People who are concerned about this should make an effort to attend the sentencing -- Fetzer could wind up with probation and a few weekends in county jail, instead of eight years in state prison.
Actually with his track record with the legal system the name probably didn't mean a thing. He has had troubles before and done time for other offences so it is unlikely he will get any kind of a softened sentence. You would be very shocked to see the light sentences that child molesters normally receive. Do some research and you will want to scream. Plea bargains are very common in these cases and the molesters are almost always free long before the public thinks appropriate. The only way to change this is to change the laws. Seriously people need to get more involved if this bothers them.

I have a lot to say to heidi-Heath Fetzer. It is obvious that you do not care for the mother or the victim. But you said you spoke to the investigator. By law, that investigator cannot provide you with any other facts than are reported in the papers. If that investigator did, then he/she could lose the job and be sued. Do you stand by your previous statement, because if you do, then an investigation into that investigator is warranted.

Unfortunately I cannot be at the sentencing hearing as I live far away but I can tell you this - Christopher Fetzer has brought more grief to more people than just the mother and the victim. I know him too!!!! If you want to continue to slander the mother and the victim, be prepared for a lawsuit. You may be a Fetzeer and think you own Mendocino County, but the truth will out and the truth is that Christopher Fetzer is a pedophile. Sorry, but the truth hurts.

By the way, when was the last time you visited your nephews?

My thoughts exactly, I was wondering who that investigator was too! Because if he gave her information about the evidence in the case I think he is in violation of the rules that govern his position. I'm sure she was calling the investigator to compain about the daughter and mother. Remember she has the same DNA.

the daily journal needs to do something about the ridiculous gossiping and spiteful things said on these boards. its not a forum but rather a wall people are hiding behind to say awful things about others in the community that they wouldn't say to their faces. there's a commercial on the radio that goes into this exact subject, but the participants are teenage girls. not grown adults! if you wouldn't say it to someones face don't say it online.
