See what happens when other towns get a whiff of all the marijuana publicity coming outta mendo. They need to stop putting weed on the cover of every paper and giving out people's address's. Thanx to measure b everyone knows where to go to go rip off some weed. I've lived here for 7 years and didn't know measure G until B made it known. To think this whole time personal use was legal here. Measure B made mendo a magnet for jackers.

What an idiot you are. There was no publicity about Mendo, ganja capital of the world before Measure B. No one moved here to grow dope and no one came here to rip it off. What a crock. Maybe now you and your grower friends can move to Arcata where they love your type.

You don't need any listings, just walk down the street during harvest time, you know who's growing and who isn't.

This type of violence has been going on for years with the pot. If you play you pay and it may be your life.

The Sheriff's Office is "not currently pursuing drug charges"...?... why the hell not!!!?? What an INJUSTICE! This is CLEARLY beyond the boundries of 215. Or is someone going to tell me he needed over 800 plants for his sick mom?

MCSO don't know how the robbers knew of the pot farm? Well how about they are drug dealers and they've purchased pot there before?

Come on... where is the justice. This is all crap.

You're growing over 800 plants... there is a chance bad people will hurt you for your drugs and money. You're breaking the law. Deal with the consequences.

What I love is how the "Other three incidents" were not reported.....?!?!?

Is this not a huge Public Safety Issue...? Do people deserve to know what to look out for...? Detailed descriptions of perpetrators, and their vehicles, no where to be found on these "pages."

Let me see if I have this straight. 3 Criminals, armed are invading houses, thieving, holding people hostage (in reality) perpetrating various cruel and inhuman physical beatings,(and an unreported rape or two)...

Not reported....

Whoever made that decision really needs to be removed from their position. Truly irresponsible... ANd the Newspapers, who no doubt, heard of these eventualities, but were compelled (by whom?) to keep it quiet...?

These are the people with the least personal accountability, in the whole process.

Leave it to (primarily inland) Mendo County people to argue about the weed, and ignore the extreme problems these sorts of behaviours (on all sides) cause, from a Public Safety perspective.

Demand the info IN A TIMELY FASHION from your Law Enforcement officers, and media outlets.. Deplorable.

icysurfer-Not reported, as in, the victims are not reporting the attacks because they don't want to let the police know about the fact that they are dealing. The police are finding about the attacks through word of mouth in town. Who are you going to fire exactly? Not reporting a crime because you your self are a criminal is not a new concept. Blaming law enforcement is, to use your own word, deplorable.

First think if it weren't for weed mendo county wouldn't be wat it is today. Alot of businesses in mendo and fort bragg were started with weed money. If there wan't growing in mendo county it would be one sad town. who would even be able to afford to live here. If a person is dumb and greedy enough to grow 800 plants and brag about it to everyone then he deserves whats coming to him. Maybe the growers should be a little more hush hush about teir operations so stuff like this doesn't happen. The sheriff's office should have pressed charges on him for having 800 plants. If they want to stop the commercial growing then they should take note of the huge ops and do someting about it.

Oh....I see, so your saying unless towns are full of drug dealers, they cant survive? wow, I have had it wrong all along. I was wondering how towns all across our county have been making it. Thanks for the insight!

Why does it always have to be a black thing? And was it even mentioned these men probably all have medical marijuana cards for their cataracts; that weed was rightfully theirs.

Sincere thx, BMD, I hadn't considered that....
Makes sense.

I am just shocked/saddenned, like everyone by the fact that it all is happening, I suppose. Random violence is truly bad for a community...
