The article said the criminal complaint was filed on Monday, but it never indicates when the crime occurred.
Regardless, the lot of you are getting all spun up about the fact that the father stopped at a liquor store with his daughter in the car. That in itself is hardly deserving of such admonishment. Sure, it's a boneheaded move, but it's reaching to say this guy is a drunk, or a bad father, based on that alone.
Granted, leaving your daughter in a running vehicle isn't the brightest idea, but let's put the focus of the rage on the dirtbags who stole the truck and tossed a kid around.

The complaint is the criminal complaint filed by the county attorney. If an arrest is made on the weekend, the complaint usually is not completed before Monday. Where in the article did you get that the police did not respond accordingly and timely? The police responded IMMEDIATELY! Your claim that the police "can't be bothered on weekends" is plain stupid. Do you know any cops or just rip them? Most cops I know work weekends and nights for the first 10 years of their career.
