Well "FATHER" What in the name of god are you leaving your child in a running truck alone is beyond belief, That is your baby you are to protect her with every power and action you have in you.

You should be charged with a crime.

And to the idiots who took the truck and terrorized the sweet innocent little girl, well lets just say if there is a next time you do such a viol act to such an innocent child, well lets just hope the party you try and throw that baby on is not so kind as to let you still be standing and functioning when the police get there

well at least he didn't leave her at home alone. Or, would that have been better?

I cannot believe that nothing is going to happen to her father for leaving her in the car like he did. That was child endagerment! He's lucky those people ditched the car and didnt hurt her, it could have been so much worse.
What an idiot!
NO KIDDING! If he had gone into the casino for 20 minutes and it happened, he would've been arrested! He's not the lucky one, that little girl is. Living as a victim of sexual abuse is horrible. You never get over it, and if you are lucky, you learn to cope...

Did this happen over the weekend or something? Because A) Liquor stores close at 8pm in Ramsey County, Monday through Thursday, and B) Liquor stores are closed in Minnesota on Sundays. So this could not have occurred Sunday or Monday night.
The article said the criminal complaint was filed on Monday, but it never indicates when the crime occurred.
Regardless, the lot of you are getting all spun up about the fact that the father stopped at a liquor store with his daughter in the car. That in itself is hardly deserving of such admonishment. Sure, it's a boneheaded move, but it's reaching to say this guy is a drunk, or a bad father, based on that alone.
Granted, leaving your daughter in a running vehicle isn't the brightest idea, but let's put the focus of the rage on the dirtbags who stole the truck and tossed a kid around.
It says he called at 9:42pm on Friday night. I don't know why they didn't file the complaint on Saturday...apparently law enforcers can't be bothered on weekends....

As a mother of a 5 year old the child should be in bed BEFORE 9:45. children need about 11 or 12 hrs of sleep.

Kudos to the cops for investigating, recognizing the ****, and making an arrest.

A lot of people get upset with the police when they stop people because he or she matches the description of a suspect. If you're not doing anything wrong, don't worry about it!

If you are....watch out! You will get caught!

To the father....I hope you never forget this for the rest of your life....leaving your child in a vehicle. WOW!

From the article:
According to the complaint, officers found a group of residents detaining Jaworski in the 200 block of Birmingham after he tried to "drop a female child in a parking lot and run away," according to a police news release.

Jaworski, 22, of St. Paul, told police "he had seen somebody throw the girl from a vehicle and had called the police," the complaint said.

Officers recognized Jaworski from other police contacts (he has convictions for drug possession and fleeing police) and noticed he fit the description of the man who had stolen the truck. He was arrested.

The complaint is the criminal complaint filed by the county attorney. If an arrest is made on the weekend, the complaint usually is not completed before Monday. Where in the article did you get that the police did not respond accordingly and timely? The police responded IMMEDIATELY! Your claim that the police "can't be bothered on weekends" is plain stupid. Do you know any cops or just rip them? Most cops I know work weekends and nights for the first 10 years of their career.

Educate yourself before you post a sarcastic and ignorant comment.

The parent gets the parent of the year award. Leaving your kid in a running vehicle, with the keys in it, in a liquor store parking lot. CLASSY!!! What a winner. Another reason why some people should never have kids.

I am the cousin of the lady that helped the little girl. Thank God that my cousin found her because the area that they dropped the little girl off isn't the greatest area. Thank god that little girl is ok. That is a very busy area and highway 61 is right there so they actually could have escaped and not got caught!

Can't automatically assume that it is the mother's fault: maybe dad had visitation, maybe he was enroute from picking the child up after the mother works late - who knows? Regardless two major errors here: 1) leaving the child unattended in the car (along with the "invitation" of the keys) and 2) meth heads stealing a vehicle. As for dad - cite him for neglect and have child protection notified. As for the meth head, throw the book at him - especially if there are priors.

Calling him a drunk is probably an understatment if you ask me! If by chance I was going to stop at a liquor store and noticed that my 5 year old was asleep in the back seat, guess I would have kept on driving home. I really don't understand having to leave the child in the car especially with the car running and unlocked. Everyone is so focused on the fact that you should never have to worry about your car being stolen and the criminals are at fault! Pull your heads out people...its time for a reality check. This is the world in which we live and it isn't going to get any better. You have to protect what is yours with your heads out of the sand. This man is just as much at fault as the criminals are.

Actually I wasn't referring to the police, as they had been called at 9:42. Maybe you shouldn't read into things...If I was referring to the police, I would've said police. My comment wasn't ignorant, but I will give you the sarcasm.

I understand the father made a horrible mistake leaving his daughter in the car, I'm sure no one is more sorry than himself. A lot of people keep saying, he's a drunk, I'm assuming if he had been drunk, he would have been arrested or at the very least it would have been in the report. And as far as the child needing to be in bed by 8pm, it was a weekend she could probably sleep in, I always let mine stay up late on the weekends. So many judgemental people on here. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones!!

I'm sure glad the $1 per year tax on my car insurance, to run ads telling morons not to leave their cars running unattended, is working to perfection.

"There really needs to be more education for people about how to care safely for children. Stop cutting funding for Early Childhood education!!!
This Dad hopefully learned a huge lesson. Too bad his little girl had to suffer for it! "

Pam, I agree, but I think you might be a little confused in your terms. Early childhood education is for the children, not the adults. But I do understand what you're saying and I agree wholeheartedly. This poor father probably had his job taken away by greedy Republicans who want to avoid paying their fair share of taxes to begin with. Then the conservatives want to not fund basic adult educational programs that would teach people how to be better parents. If this man had been given a fair shot to begin with we would not have had this story.

Poor kid. I hope there's some responsible adult in her life. Otherwise she just doesn't stand a chance.
