The paper looks pretty good, but I don't like the squiggly type you're using for movie names in the review sections and for words like "jazz" and "rock" in the calendar listings. Lose that, and I think it's okay.

Did you change the content/scource of the crossword? I know it says New York Times but the content and clues seem different. If so - I much prefer the previous puzzle source.
I am not crazy about the new size and positioning either. Tha fact that it's bigger makes it impossible to fold into a nice 1/4 paper unit.
I bought the Friday and Saturday editions and noticed that the NYT Crossword did not seem as challenging as it ordinarily is on Fri and Sat. I was wondering, too, if you had changed either the source, or, while still pulling from NYT archived puzzles, you no longer publish the puzzle parallel in the week to its original printing in the NYT, i.e., Monday puzzle on a Monday, Tuesday on a Tuesday... etc.

When they said that the font hasn't changed, they meant the main body text. That definitely hasn't changed. Still the same font, still the same size. Find an old paper and compare it yourself.

I'd love to know the names of the new fonts that are being used. I really like them, especially the unusual serif headline font.

I'm not a big fan of the loopy font that appears as a pre-headline or column title. That one just looks ridiculous in a newspaper (though it is a good font for other things).

Please tell me that it was only in my paper at home yesterday that the TV Weekly was not shaded to indicate movies!

I used to work in advertising for many years at the PP. It was an awful awful place to be. They treated their employees very badly. Most that are still there can only survive the place by being on medication. I don't care about their new look. I wish they would just shut down for good and stop pretending that they even care about the community. Their employees are part of that community and they clearly do not care for them. Par Ridder set a good example by leaving them for the Strib. It's what we should all do.
i used to work there too - i call them my "nightmare years"

You have stopped high lighting the movies in your TV schedules. It would be nice if they were high lighted again.

Thank you, Diane

Does the Pioneer Press have a website or book of crossword puzzles that have been published in the past in the classfied section of the paper? I just love those puzzles!
