*Pork Chop on a stick - great seasoning
*Sweet Martha's Cookies - so many, best with milk :)
*corn on the cob and cheese curds are tied for third.
*Fries by the haunted house are great too :D

Pork chop on a stick is over by MPR I think, its smoky so its easy to find.

So many choices, so little stomach! Definitely Sweet Martha's, but only when eaten at the Moo Booth with lots of cold milk.

Pork chops, malts from the Dairy building, pronto pups (gotta be the pups not the dogs...), and cheese curds.

My kids were out yesterday (they come from Chicago just to eat) and tried the chocolate bacon; it's served cold, which surprised them, but they thought it was good. They also loved Axel's tater tots on a stick (not to be confused with hot dish on a stick) and "frogs legs" (deep fried green beans).

For those who want a "little-less-guilty" pleasure, check out the Vegetable kabobs, sold streetside from a little booth (last year, it was on the main east-west street on the south side of the Fairgrounds, on the north side of that street.

Oh yeah, for first timers, its fine to bring your own water and pop. I think the going rate there is $2 a piece for bottles of pop and water.

.yes the corn on the cob is tops, sometimes they give a 2 for 1 if they are smaller
.yes sweet marthas and carry them to the one dollar milk stand, I saw someone put that, I agree
.and if you get soda, save your cup, and a lot of places just charge 1 dollar for a refill instead of you buying another at full price.

I keep hearing a lot about those piglickers, the bacon and chocolate thingys.
Can't believe they are cold though.
Anybody tried them? Any good?
My real question is; would you BUY them AGAIN?

I gave a friends some money and asked them to bring me some, and they said they found them at Famous Dave's. Since I didn't get them myself, I'm not sure if this is what everyone's talking about. They were quite good. It wasn't "on a stick", though-- it was a half-dozen thick slices of bacon, with about half of each slice encased in chocolate. Good quality chocolate (not the brown, vaguely chocolate-flavored wax that passes for chocolate these days). And I'm sure that's the reason they need to serve 'em cold-- the chocolate wouldn't cling too well if it were warm. Good quality bacon, too, and a few grains of coarse sea salt sprinkled on, just for overkill.

I'm not sure I'd buy 'em again, but if you're willing to spend $5 for the novelty of it, I'd guess you'd tell yourself you came out even.

Yes, by all means, stop by the roasted corn booth! They give you an ear the size of a WW2 submarine, baptized in butter, and even if they have to call in the EMTs, you'll be smiling as they wheel you off.

My perennial favorite: fried green tomatoes. Dip them in ranch dressing and enjoy a little nibble of heaven.

I am also a big fan of the deep fried pickles.

As for the chocolate bacon, I have added it to my list of never-agains, along with walleye-on-a-stick (I have never had a more unpleasant piece of fish in my life), mini cinammon rolls (revoltingly doughy), and the deep fried candy bar (it made me hallucinate like Lisa on the Simpson's: "I can see through time....")

Actually I wasn't going to try the deep fried candy bar, but the way you describe it..I just may want to experience that :)
