You knew the Pack won't give Favre an outright release. He might sign with the Vikes or Bears. His ego is too big to accept not starting so it is either trade or staying retired.

Thompson and McCarthy act as though they are clean in this whole mess. If they thought for a second this was going to happen they should have have had a contingecy plan for Favre's return.
I guess we now know the contingency is to hoard the talent Favre still has and not let anyone else get a shot at signing him. What a patehtically selfish organization and Favre is too for that matter.

You think the PACK organization going to trade FAVRE to a divisional rival??? The PACK would be smart enough to trade FAVRE to a team that desperately need a QB like San Francisco or even Miami.

From a strictly business perspective, this is the only intelligent retort the Packers could have come back at Favre with.

Brett Favre has gone from a great team mate and great quaterback to a self centered old man, every year wanting the Packers to do the will he or wont he retire dance. The packers need to get on with building the future of the organization and it is obvious that Favre is NOT a part of that future. Brett, at least keep some of your dignity and stay retired and do not put the organization that you grew up and old with through this crap. I am a long time fan of the Packers and remember the great games had by the Bart Star Packers as well as the games that Don Ski played and through the Favre era, however, that era is over and please Brett, last year was a great send off year, do you really want to be the next Johnny U. looking like an old man in a Chargers uniform?

Before all the dreamers about seeing Favre in purple get too excited, let's not forget he ALSO has thrown more interceptions than anybody else , and how MANY in very crucial times ? STAY RETIRED Brett . Nobody wants to see you make a total JERK of yourself

Until you've walked in his shoes boys just shut up. Brett Farve is the best thing to happen to The Packers since Vince Lombardi and everyone knows that. Give him a break of course he's confused, he loves the game of football and thats the only thing he knows. Just because hes 38 (which isnt old) doesnt mean he doesnt still have the fire in his belly he did as a kid for the love of football. GBay should let him go and let him play until he can't anymore. Thats called passion something most of us can only dream about. Dont judge unless u have the record for the most touchdown passes of any quarterback in the NFL!!!!!!

Did any of you comparing Farve to Johnny U ever see them both play? The difference is Brett can still play, check the stats. Johnny U couldn't, check the stats. By the way, study some Viking history, how old was Marshall when he retired? How many years did the reporters that couldn't find anything else to write about bug Jim about retiring? Just like the lazy jerk media has been doing to Brett. Heck most of us would have told them we were retiring long ago just to get the media off our backs. So get a life, forget the racist "white boy" comments, and worry about real issues, like finding and keeping decent jobs here instead of shipping them overseas, finding real alternatives to burning crude oil which is running out. Sports is supposed to be for relaxation, not all important, grow up!

Farve is a girly man. Indecisive and cries like a little girl.

If you are so interested in the "Real Issues" then what are you doing on a topic board about Brett Favre? You seem somewhat confused and lost.
