Favre is terrible, I hate the Packers but feel bad for Aaron Rogers. I just imagine Aaron Rogers going 19-20 250yds 3TD's. Media:"You got the win, but, Brett Favre cringed at your one incompletion, how can you live with yourself. The man is a legend, and may come out of retirement since you're so terrible." The guy just can't catch a break, Brett Favre is a moron for even allowing the talk to happen, saying it's a rumor doesn't dispel it. Pop some pain killers Brett and lets have you play Monday night opener when your jersey is going to be retired.

Man, you are on crack. Our 20 pass per game strategy, which allows Petersen to run is where it's at. We need the run game and Favre is all about the pass. This is not the right fit for the Vikes! Defense wins championships and the right moves are made there. Run (and therefore protect) the ball.

We still wouldn't have a superbowl victory. Wouldn't that just be following the trend? Haven't the last 2 Super Bowl winners been the Mannings (Peyton and Eli). Even if the media didn't report as if our VIKINGS had won a Super Bowl. We'd all know we did and I could live with that. Tommy - VIKINGS Fan for Life!!

lmao. Wow. Favre to MN? No, Powers, those people you talked to are right. It would never happen. Why? Because he's a rival QB. A good rival QB, sure, but still a rival. It would just be wierd having Favre on a team other than GB, especially if it was our's. That and the fact I'm pretty sure last season was a fluke. He didn't have spectacular numbers the years before last year. I'd rather not take a QB who's going to decline. Regardless, I bet he'll come back. Why? That last pass is eating him up. People say he finished on top. Umm, no. He didn't. He got outplayed by Eli Manning, in his own stadium, and his last pass was an interception. That's not on top at all. I'd rather have my last pass be a TD, or hell even a completion, over an int.

Agree with what you say, but doesn't Favre have a terrible record in the dome?

I actually pondered this for a moment yesterday, before reading this column. Then I quickly concluded that I'd drop the Vikings as my team if they so much as negotiated with Mr. Fraud. I'm quite serious. I'd end a 44-year run of loyal fandom. Favre is pathetic in his desperate need for attention. I really do feel sorry for the guy on some level. And his "fans" are simply sheep if they cannot see him for the needy megalomaniac he is.

An excellent example of "How to write a column in 15 minutes or less" by Tom Powers. I mean with all the stories affecting Minnesota sports, Tom goes out and mails in his column with a stupid, never-gonna-happen hypothetical.

Farve said himself that it wasn't his responsability to mentor Aaron Rogers so why do we believe that it will do T-Jack any good to back him up and "learn" from the HOF'er?

Finally, an idea more repulsive than having Jim McMahon as Vikings QB. One other thing, the Packers are coming off a 13-3 season and they _don't_want_Favre_back_. What does that tell you???

come up with real ideas to stimulate discussion. this conjecture is totally absurd for obvious reasons lots of them. the twin cities has two great sports writers, walters and hartman. both really good. we deserve more quality than that. we don't need contrived conjecture. do research. come up with constructive ideas. one of the others asked are you insane? how about are you devoid of any intellect allowing for intelligent possibly constsructive ideas?

Oh wait, didn't he end his career as a LA Ram? Yes, I think he did. Great show of loyalty right? This discussion is not really worth having as Green Bay would never let him come to Minnesota so even if everything else WAS real, they wouldn't let it happen. End of discussion.
