If he wants to play for a Super Bowl title, he could do worse than join the Vikings if Green Bay releases him.

If we can't get Favre, we should check on Bart Starr's availability.

If the Vikes were to sign Favre would he wait till Sunday AM each week to let us know if he wants to play, or would he decide by Fri PM?

His shtick is getting real old. If he plays he will have 9 million IT's and everyone will say it's just Favre being Favre. He has become an embarrassing brat.

Not likely; but hey, didn't Jim McMahon play for the Vikings for a year or two?

I would consider bringing back Les Steckel before Brett Favre

Loony is what you are Tom
Do you know what brett's playoff record is since SB XXXII? He's 2-5 with 11 TD's and 16 Int's. I would take my chances with many QB's before Favre if I wanted to win a championship.

Why wouldn't the cheapskate TT trade him for 42 7th round picks?
Favre will play, but hopefully for the Raiders.

Although I dont Like Farve. I respect him, and he would make us a superbowl faviorte. It will be good for T-Jack and JDB. Think of how T-Jack would play if he get a year or two behind a proven hall of fame qb. It will improve him to play a season, and come back and learn from Farve. I like the idea of T-Jack learning from Favre then signing Favre.

The knuckleheads who see him as the enemy don't seem to recognize that the NFL is a league of mercenaries these days. They play in the uniform that pays. Also, Brett Favre is a class act and a fascinating player. I have been a Vikings fan since day one, but I have often hated the team, like an alcoholic hating the bottle. But I have always felt a fondness for the purity of the Green Bay experience and the simple wisdom of their citizen ownership. Brett Favre represents football at its best; why shouldn't our carpetbagger owner hire a mercenary to get his beloved shopping center development/cash cow stadium? We'd get a superbowl and he'd get superrich. Isn't that what we both want?

The Vikes want to lead the league in interceptions, but on defense not on offense. It would be a joke to bring him to the Vikes. A old washed up QB is the last thing we need.

I like the idea. Say what you want about Favre, but he's a proven winner.

And if you are all about "loyalty," then the best thing you can do is take Favre from the Packers and win a champion. See also Yankees v. BoSox and what the trade for the Bambino did for Baseball lore and history.(Granted this is late in Brett's career so this is apples to oranges, but...)

Yes, Favre's playoff record hasn't been super lately, but let's be honest. The Farve factor is a big reason those otherwise mediocre Packer teams even made it to the playoffs. If you give Favre some talent, he goes to Superbowls. Wins Superbowls. He goes 14-2 and loses to the eventual Superbowl champs.

Be loyal to your team!

Like 40for60 said, this never happens. What Tom didn't tell you is that the Pack will hold Favre's contract and if they think he is coming out of retiremnet they will trade him to the Dolphins for Jason Taylor or something. The point is that they would trade him so they control where he ends up.

Vikings fans don't want him, Tom, and we're tired of Favre-struck media rubes, like yourself, talking & writing about him! Get over him, please!!!! He's a complete narcissist, whose been toying w/the emotions of Packer fans for years. ce.

We don't need Brett Favre. Could you imagine, the vikings winning a Superbowl with Favre at qb? The media would have it Favre's Superbowl and not the vikings. We still wouldn't have a superbowl victory.
