16 Does this publication make a habit of identifying the political party and values of crime victims? Of course not! Not unless it allows them to add to their long, boring litany of "Republicans are bad" stories. This so-called story is more of a cautionary tale. The moral (and moralizing from news organizations is so rich and ironic) being Republicans are naughty and mean but in the end fate and strange women with unfavorable motives make things right. |

7 Or, more likely, he'll be just another warmongering **** coward. "Bomb the hell out of them! Ha ha ha ha ha! While my cowardly butt stays firmly planted in my lawyer office in Colorado. Throw as many American lives at the war effort as may be necessary, so long as it isn't mine!" This guy's attitude is vulgar. And he's a Republican. You do the math. |

3 May be Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, Barney Frank (D., Mass.), the chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.), a powerful member of the Senate Banking Committee, and Congress will bail him out like they plan to use our taxpayer funds to resuscitate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and return them to profitability. He got screwed without the kiss just like the tax payers are getting it. |

6 Welcome to the real world, boys and girls. Life ain't fair, and not everyone plays by the rules. No, he shouldn't have been victimized... that was wrong... HOWEVER, as anyone who lives in a real city knows, you NEVER tempt anyone with your stuff. That's a fact of life. If your toys are expensive, and you draw attention to yourself, you are an instant mark for anyone with a little larceny in them. It's not fair, but it's inevitable. Just remember, life doesn't give us what we expect, it gives us what we deserve... I'm sure lots of folks are going to chastise me for being so insensitive, so judgemental. Boo hoo. C'mon, why does anyone need a belt costing $1000? And I'll bet that my $50 Timex keeps time just about as well as a watch costing 600 times as much. I know truly rich people, who literally get paid seven figures a year, who, if you saw them on the street, appear to be just like any working stiff. Truly wealthy people have no need or desire to show off how much they have cuz there are very nasty people out there who would do anything to get their hands on someone else's money. Anyone with real wealth either has a very large bodyguard or keeps the real jewels and bling hidden in their private safe. The pretenders and wannabes are the ones walking around with a neon sign on their backs saying, "Hi, I'm naive and stupid and I've got tons of bling that I maxed out my credit cards to buy... ROB ME BLIND!!" BTW, could it be that, by flashing all of the sparklies around, he was compensating for the lack of, ahem, something else? I'm just asking... |

10 "Asked by the interviewer how America would pay for a military confrontation with Iran, he said the U.S. should take the country's resources. "We should plant a flag. Take the oil, take the money," he said. "We deserve reimbursement." A few hours after the interview, an unknown woman helped herself to Schwartz's resources." |

6 You're missing the point. He gave all this information to the police and media voluntarily. Quit trying to turn this into a Democrat/Republican issue, it's not. His braggadocio, swagger, and "full of himself" attitude set the scene for the ALLEGED crime. Which are the same reasons he poured out his life story to the media. The guy sounds like a real jerk, that if his head got any bigger he'd have to grease his ears to fit through a doorway. I've got to admit I'm more than a little curious as to why a single guy, miles from home would be carrying around a necklace, earrings, and a purse, valued together at 10 grand. Sixty thousand in cash also seems suspect. Keep an eye on this story. There's a whole lot more here than meets the eye. |

2 When someone is especially stupid as this guy was, it tends to invite ridicule. Also there's that family values issue again. See if the Republicans would quite trying to act as though they're so moral and upright, maybe they wouldn't get laughed at so much when they prove that they're kind of ... well LACKING in the morals department. |

2 Well...taking a woman that he picked up in a bar to his hotel room while leaving $120,000 worth of valuables just laying about wasn't WRONG but it sure was dumb. And aren't Republicans the ones who usually frown on casual sex? |
