September 02, 2008 Barack Obama vs Sarah Palin In spite of vile attacks from the Left, Conservatives and Republicans are rallying around John McCain and Sarah Palin. Campaign donations are flooding in and workers are volunteering faster than they can be put to work. The attacks on Sarah Palin are now being fought from the top of the campaign to the smallest neighborhood in America. In short: This has become a fight between Obama and Palin, rather than Obama and McCain.
Pundits are comparing Barack Obama's experience, history, pastors, morals, family ... to those of Sarah Palin. Obama comes up wanting in each and every category. Are people excited to hear Obama speeches any more? Not like in the beginning. Are people excited about hearing John McCain's speech Thursday night? Not so much. BUT, Sarah Palin's speech, that's a different story. EVERYBODY wants to hear what she has to say.

Let's roll over Hussein Obama and his disingenuous partner Biden. VOTE McCAIN/Palin. **** Dang tootin this is exciting. Given the climate within the party I would immagine McCain knew his running mate choice would truly define himself in the eyes of his critics. Sen. McCain, you did us proud. I can think of no better choice, bar none. This team will bring the base together, and set a path for the future of the party we didn't even see coming. John McCain didn't get enough credit in the past from me, I underestimated him.

Larry wrote: There were other Muslim attacks in those 8 years. The embassy in Kenya and the USS Cole are examples. The Germans and Italians did not attack US soil. I only included attacks on US soil. The recent security measures are for domestic attacks, not for embassies and military targets. The internment was not because of an attack on US soil. It was because we were at war with Japan and the government worried that Japanese American citizens, specifically on the West Coast would try to commit acts of sabotage and espionage. It was purely racially motivated, which is why people with German or Italian ancestry weren't locked up. Congress backed up this point and apologized for the internment in 1988 attributing it to "race prejudice, war hysteria, and a failure of political leadership." Does this sound familiar Larry? Maybe a parallel to what's going on today?

Dear Gabe, I don't think Bill Clinton could have been any clearer if he had tried. Presidential elections in the US are very, very close affairs. If the Democrates picked a black man with no record of middle class values, there would be a high probability that the so called Reagan Democrates would vote Republican. With great wisdom or great folly, the Democrates decided to ignore his advice. If, when, the Democratic Party losses this election because many working class whites vote against Obama, you will have no one to blame but yourself and your own hubris. You were warned by the best of your own party.

You're right there were: - 110,000 Japanese Americans and Japanese interned.(Citizenship laws barred Asian-born persons from obtaining citizenship)
- 11,000 German nationals interned.
- 3,000 Italian nationals interned.
Both Germans and Italians were actually given loyalty hearings before being interned. Also anyone with a drop of Japanese blood were fair game, but 2nd generation German and Italians could not be interned.

As John Wayne so eloquently put it "those slant eyed Sons-of-Nippon" were not real popular after Pearl Harbor. Yes, I know, anger is such a bad thing, but, unlike the Japanese, we never actually ate our enemies.
