John McCain threw everything he could at Barack Obama Wednesday night. Down in the polls and with time running out, McCain took every opportunity to put Obama on the defensive, looking to turn a race that has ...

I think if you watched the ONE you would notice that he did not engage but filibustered as much as possible to avoid answers. Is that what we need to lead? Obama found it hard to stay on task since there were too many questions and again, he had no answers of substance. But if you like the "cool" and "composure" go for the O. But if you want leadership, someone with a "known" past and associations that actually like or love America, then go for McCain. The economy is in dire shape, the O did not impress me to vote for him. Taxing only 5% of the country while giving away that away in tax cuts and REBATES (37% don't pay any taxes) will not balance the budget or be enough to pay for all those programs he wants, ie health care? mortgages? green mandates? etc. We are $11 trillion in debt? Raise taxes to kill the economy? Reagan inherited 21% interest rates from the last liberal Jimmy Carter. He cut taxes from 70% upper rate to 28% and cut capital gains, tax breaks for investment in new business/equipment. It worked and can work again. Clinton raised taxes and put our economy in the toilet when he left office. The facts are the facts.

Why is it that the men and women in the military have to list all the people they have known and associated with, if they had associated with a known terrorists they wouldn't get security clearance so why is it that we would a man who has ties with a KNOWN TERRORIST to be president????

Bush has been the only thing the dems have had to position Obama with and McCain took it to him when he said if he wanted to run against Bush he should have run for president 4 years ago.

McCain makes me ill. I and many of my girlfriends will not vote for this wrinkly old geezer. I hope that he enjoys his last few years in the Senate. Certainly, this is where he belongs. Either that, or in a retirement community.

Obama is for big government, taking your money away if you're successful and giving it to others, taxing business which reduces job creation and increases unemployment, a health care plan that does fine a business if they don't participate creating more business stress and downsizing, while McCain wants YOU to control YOUR life with less taxes, less government intervention and more freedoms. So if you like Socialism, Obama is the one you and your girlfriends should support. Good luck.

McCain is just not likable. He comes off as a grumpy old snarly get off my lawn kind of guy. Everyone know that personal attacks are desperation. I just can't vote for him.

Gee Brenda, you and your girlfriends must be reeeal smart...let me say, that, in spite of your lack of intelligent post....you should at least have respect for those who have served your country in war and in peace....can't say that Obama has done either in any significant way...so maybe you just like the way Obama's suit hangs or the size of his ears....frankly, I hope for your sake, you mature into a clear thinking adult.

Now, here is substance. It scares me to realize that someone with these kind of observations and objections is allowed to vote.

Perhaps you can tell us why Mr. McCain's wrinkles disqualify him for president. I'll bet to you John Mayer should be president?

I do have to agree that the snarling isn't helping. Plus, I'm just getting sick all the way around of nasty campaigns. I'm a conservative all the way through, but McCain's having to attack is not building my confidence in his chances.

No he wont....But with any luck, the President in 4 years will be Mrs palin, and VP....Condi Rice.

The grown-ups need to create a taxpayer funded "ACORN" type organization too.
To Hades with ethics, morals no longer have a place in American politics, as we have seen ever since the Sex Offender-in-chief left the Presidency.
If America has any chance at survival, it will require that moral people to set aside thier ethics, and become Democrat-lite.
The destruction that the Democrat Victims Party will bring as they rule for the next four years, will finaly bring "Real Change"....and maybe we will be able to rebuild from the destruction they WILL cause.

Trickle down economics only work if the wealthy actually trickle down the money. Where has that been the last four years?

Let's keep in mind that the economy was strong with Clinton in office and economic changes do not take 8 years to come to fruition. The budget was balanced with Clinton in office. He cut programs, cut military spending, raised taxes to balance the budget.

McCain will cut taxes, increase the wealth of the top 5%, and further the income gap in this country. Some people think that it is fair (conservatives), liberals think that fair wages, healthcare, etc. are rights of the people. Government steps in because the free market is corrupt. In country where someone is worth $10 billion and yet we still have millions of homeless children, is there any question that the free market is not perfect? If the economic downtown right now is the result of Clinton's policies (like someone said) then when are Bush's policies going to start helping Americans? When does the money start "trickling down?" It would appear to me that Bush's policies have lead to some serious greed in American businesses.

Joe the plumber is not registered to vote.

Joe the plumber does not make $250k or year (nor will he if he owns his own business)- under the Obama plan, you have to have a salary of over $250k...not just have a gross business income of over 250k....

Joe the plumber does not understand tax implications

Joe the plumber needs an accountant.

Joe Wurzelbacher may end up being the most embarrassed plumber in America when all is said and done. There are a few problems already with his story:

- He hasn't even bought the business yet, and claims he wouldn't because he might have to pay more taxes. Hmmm
- It is a 2 man operation. Sound like a $250K "Profit" business to you?
- He must have an awful accountant. If he plans to buy this 2 man operation, why wouldn't their salaries and other deductions be taken off the gross - lowering the gross income of a 2 man plumbing outfit WELL below a $250,000 taxable 'profit'?
- Joe already talked to right wing websites and had an agenda by bringing this hypothetical situation up in the first place.
- The only tax increase would be 3% mor on ONLY profits OVER $250,000 - up to $250K NO CHANGE. Taking the above mentioned deductions for salaries that would reduce the gross income of the business an equal amount, it's HIGHLY unlikely a 2 man plumbing outfit would ever NET over $250,000 a year. Even so, say it NETTED (not grossed)$300,000 (after deductions for salary, equipment, milage, equipment, etc) would only be $1500. And this is what's stopping him from buying the business?

McCain thinks he's going to balance the budget by removing earmarks. Which is less than 1% of our budget. Grampy isn't capable of bringing us out of the disaster created by the last 8 years because his policies aren't much different than w's.
The guy isn't healthy and his running mate is downright scary and corrupt. I wish I could get a free house like she did for granting a contract to a building company for the city's ice rink. Nice gig if you can get it. Maybe we should all join her church (?) group to participate in rituals to get rid of witches. Her accent is laughable.
