The law's original intent was to hold those manufacturers of the items that polluted responsible since it was always the government and the individuals that had to suffer the costs of recycling.

This was a good first step to get evil pprofit mongering companies to help pay for the problem they created.

Now, they are bringing suit against this reasonable program? If so, then I say that our government ought to step in ans show them who is boss here. Slap the entire program's cost on their shoulders. That will teach them.

Let's see...there are two choices:

1) The consumer needs to properly recycle used equipment themselves, thus the people who are recycling equipment pay the real cost.

2) Charge the manufacturer, so that every unit that is sold at an increased price, whether there is an old unit coming back or not.

Which one is:

a) Fairer to the consumer?

b) Not going to increase overall recycling costs because the government is involved in the administration of the program, and gets to hire a few more people into government jobs?

Good joke Mr/Ms Recycle.

Only problem is that the American people spoke one year ago. Mr. Obama own the White HOuse. Ms. Pelosi owns the Congress - as you saw with the very historic vote this past weekend. And the Democrats have 60 seats (a veto-proof majority) in the Senate.

The Health Care Bill will pass the Senate. Mr. Obama will sign it into law. And all of your fat cat rich friends will cry in their imported beer.

IRISHMN,

You really are making a fool of yourself in every forum you post to.

You seem like a person that is so angry that you take it out on posters.

Congrads on having your guy in White House, and Congress!

But think back when is the last time this country was really prospering?

Was it ever A Democratic controller HOuse or Senate. Could it be that the last six years of Clinton and first six years of Bush II was our greatest.

No look back and see what the common factor was?

It certianly wasn't a White House controlled by a Democrat. Was it a Republican controlled House tha tled to such great economic growth.

Now comes along Obama, Pelsoi and Reed and this country is in shambles and a President that has no leadership capibilities ( and is a bad public speaker to boot)and he is running our country.

I think Obama should be compared to the Captain of the Titanic.

Perhaps you would prefer a world free of electronics. That way you don't have to sound like a hypocrite when you rail against the evil company that made the computer you spout your nonsense from.

I see some folks here responding to the ridiculous "IrishMN", and feel compelled to tell you that I know this person, and they do not believe the tripe they write. They write it merely to get the readers to respond, and the more adversarial the response are, the more he gets "off" on it. Sick, and in need of help describes him accurately.

A chemical company should dump poison on your kid.
And you can get poisoned and die.
Then you can whine about how the consumer should be
better off dumping a TV on a county road than paying the
real costs and letting the companies that sell the stuff get off scott free.

Interesting how a person thinks that being honest, and being themselves is not enough to keep an odd ego inflated.
It's a sad day when being ourselves is not enough, regardless of those who disagree with what we feel in our hearts.
