Norm could stay rent free if his buddy chose to not charge rent, so what does it matter if he has cheep apartment rent from his pal or if he is late in paying him?

Talk about REACHING!

As a Republican, at least he hasn't tried to get sex in the men's toilets like Mr. Larry Craig of Idaho. Come on, leave Norm alone. He is fighting for Minnesota and doesn't plan to ever leave the Senate. Give him another 30 years. Vote for Coleman.

When do we get to the point when we just kick them all out and start over? The political system has become a joke, overrun with lifelong politicians and lawyers - and worse yet, lifelong politicians who are lawyers. Doublespeak, lies of omission, sex scandals, ripping opponents, passing bills with loopholes then taking advantage of said loopholes - I've had it with the lot of them.

This is such nonsense. And a so-called "newspaper" publishes this pap as news? No wonder you're all bankrupt.

I can't believe that three times as many people are commenting on this story rather than the story of the father that put his toddler out on a highway to shoot her. Give me a break. Where is this really going?

Wow, here's a non story. This makes Franken's Nonpayment of income taxes and failure to provide insurance seem pretty tame, doesn't it.

Of course BOTH parties are digging for whatever dirt they can find!
Why attack the suit bringer? Why not question whether or not what Coleman has done/is doing is ethical?
When one reads the rule that applies to gifts it seems to require an investigation.
Why would a landlord not require rent? Why would a landlord not cash rent checks? Certainly wish I could find one like that.
Would your landlord accept your old furniture as a months rent or haul it away and charge you?

Hey, Lay off. This is the first funny bit that Franken has ever had. I know, I've been seeing him on TV since he started to do guest appearances with the Not Ready For Prime Time Players, where he did some screams that would have embaressed Howard Dean.

Compared to FRANKENSTEIN, Senator Coleman is an angel! Check out their long time track records. Frankenstein is a nut case and Coleman has been a great public servant and continues to do so.

Perhaps you should read/re-read the rules.

Many of us take ethics violations seriously in our elected officials.

i've been hearing & reading about this in the news. guess i'm out of the loop about why is he renting this apartment in the first place? doesn't he live with his family in d.c.? guess i was under the assumption that his family moved with him when he was initially elected to the Senate and they had a home in the area.

What ethics violation is there to take seriously? It would have been more serious if he had skipped putting a dollar in a Starbucks tip jar.

If THIS is the most they can find....

<< Why attack the suit bringer? Why not question whether or not what Coleman has done/is doing is ethical? >>

1> Their motives are legitimately suspect.
2> What was unethical about what Coleman did?

<< When one reads the rule that applies to gifts it seems to require an investigation. >>

If you are right, then it is sad that we would spend tax dollars on something so trivial.

<< Why would a landlord not require rent? Why would a landlord not cash rent checks? Certainly wish I could find one like that. >>

Have you ever rented a room to or from a friend?

<< Would your landlord accept your old furniture as a months rent or haul it away and charge you? >>

Depends on the landlord.
