There’s obviously one difference between the Republican Party of Minnesota (“RPM”), and C.R.E.W.(Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington): when republiCon Ron feels there’s a wrong been done, he files a press release. When C.R.E.W. feels a wrong has been done, they file a complaint. Here’s an example, and I quote from today’s RPM press release: ”In the interest of full disclosure, CREW must acknowledge its close relationship to Al Franken, and explain how they can claim to be an independent group with its long history with Democrats and specifically Al Franken and Charles Schumer."RPM Latest News OK, CREW is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization; as such, they must – MUST – be independent AND non-partisan. If ol’ republiCon Ron had any facts backing his claim of being a front group for Franken and Schumer, he would have filed a complaint, not a press release. But since CREW is a 501(c)3 organization, dedicated to promoting ethics and accountability in government and public life by targeting government officials -- regardless of party affiliation -- who sacrifice the common good to special interests, CREW files a complaint, NOT a press release. In other words, unlike republiCon Ron, CREW walks the walk.

Cheap Rent? If that's the extent of the dirt anyone can dig up about Norm then he has nothing to worry about.

I am not a fan of Coleman, but this is much ado about nothing. My son goes to college near that area and we tried to find him a room hoping it would be cheaper than the dorm. We couldn't find anything for less than 750 a month - for a room! So 600 in the DC area probably isn't that far-fetched, especially if it is in a neighborhood one would actually feel safe living.

So, what's the deal here? A 501(c)3 organization which is not supposed to be political is getting political again. I think someone ought to file an IRS complaint with CREW for political activities which are not allowed by the 501(c)3 tax status. Someone ought to challenge them. Again, the complaints from CREW are pretty baseless as usual, and will most-likely come down to nothing. If this is all that the Al Franken/Chuck Schumer gang have on Sen. Coleman, then I'm really not worried about November.

If you can't be somewhat objective when writing these articles, please stop this type of journalism. This is precisely what most of us hate about politics and the media **** that are looking for dirt to print. Enough. We deserve better and we deserve to see the candidate's positions on what's important to us, not what makes you money.

Leave the poor sap alone. His wife's left him for "acting" (ie another dude) and he's got child support to pay. He's a 10 time loser and Mr Larson's the only friend he's got. So he's getting a little favor on his rent, big deal. EVERY politician is on the take one way or another. I mean c'mon, the poor loner had to sell his furniture so he could pay for Lori's facelift...I mean rent. Jesse for Senate

How embarassing, our Senator rents a room like Fonzie did. Does anyone believe this guy actually spends his nights at this place? No wonder he has drifted so far from conservative policies and has become a Rhino. Senator, thanks for ruining families lives with stupid ethanol. Thanks for being a coward on domestic drilling and only getting on board once a poll says that 70% of Americans support drilling.

It is unfortunate that the only way the Right could get a seat in the Senate from Minneeesota was to run a Democrat in Republican clothing. There is not much about this guy that would make a libertarian/conservative feel pride in his legislative record. That said...He is no Dirty Al. I have a high level of frustration reading the ignorant Left posting about Bushies' guy. This guy would be Ultra-liberal anywhere in America with the exception of the coasts and the wannabe midwest. It is embarassing that so many are so ignorant in Minneeeeesota, that the best we can offer America is a Phonie politician like Mr Coleman, or a Phonie Wealthy Pornagrapher like Dirty Al.

Senate incumbant Norm Coleman speaks to a small crowd outside of a Dunn Bros Coffee in Eden Prarie, Minnesota. "America has to have energy security;" he explains, "we can't continue to be intimidated by thugs and tyrants." (Leah Sorensen) What exactly does this have to do with a story about Norm Coleman's lack of ethics? The story is about a serious ethical violation alleged on Norm Coleman. Why isn't there a picture of Norm responding to it? And why does the Coleman campaign bring up Chuck Schumer? What's he got to do with Minnesota's senate race--and in particular, Norm Coleman's ethical problems? Also, why doesn't the article note that DCI, the company that split off from FLS, is the company that is paid to make the brutal government of Myanmar look good? Nice company Norm keeps. It would be nice if the Pioneer Press had a real political reporter.
