I've seen the ad and no, it doesn't invoke memories of Wellstone.

I have seen the ad and the footage does not match. If Al is elected we will look like a bunch of fools to the nation. Like a bunch of inbreds.

Well, Bogeygman, maybe if more people like you left the state the image of us being fools and inbreeds would probably be diminished.

what Barack Obama has said - in his own words: 1.) From Obama's website: "I've been fighting alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career. Even before I was an elected official, when I ran Project Vote voter registration drive in Illinois, ACORN was smack dab in the middle of it, and we appreciate your work." 2.) SOCIAL POLICY (journal) Toni Foulkes, Chicago ACORN leader, and member of ACORN's National Association Board Pages 49-52 Winter 2003-Spring 2004 issue, vol. 34, No.2 Vol. 34, No. 3 "... Obama then went on to run a voter registration project with Project VOTE in 1992... Project VOTE delivered 50,000 newly registered voters in that campaign (ACORN delivered about 5000 of them). Since then, we have invited Obama to our leadership training sessions to run the session on power every year, and as a result, many of our newly developing leaders got to know him before he ever ran for office. Thus, it was natural for many of us to be active volunteers in his first campaign for State Senate and then his failed bid for U.S. Congress... By the time he ran for U.S. Senate, we were old friends. " ACORN: American Corruption for Obama Right Now

Of course it matches, it's just another desperate attempt by Norm before he has to switch back to the winning party...again...

The ad clearly states that Coleman has used footage of Al telling "this story". It doesn't state that it's the same footage. Al is clearly telling the same story in the footage from the Coleman ad. I never liked Norm, the sleazebag, but this just takes the cake. Despicable!

Iam surprised whenever a republican is voted into office in communist minnesota. Plus there are more gov. workers here than private workers, its a workers paradise. So is any wonder Norm as to vote the way he does one for your side and one for the other side. Anyway I loathe the democrats liber mischief making with the truth so don't believe them either.

"Iam surprised whenever a republican is voted into office in communist minnesota." You must have been surprised alot. With a Republican Governor and Republican House of Reps for much of this decade. How that qualifies Minnesota as a Communist state is a mystery. You must just loathe politicians in general or think that all politicians are democrats.

This country will survive with McCain or Obama at the helm for the next 4 years, I can accept that. Electing Al Franken makes the "Jess the Body" election look like childs play both in Minnesota and around the nation. The man muscled his way onto the democratic ticket with $$$ in spite of the best efforts of Betty McCullom, Ms Lord and other prominent Democrats. He might be good at what he does in the entertaiment industry but I don't think he'd represent Minnesota's best interests in Washington.

Good Lord People. He IS telling the same story. I've seen him tell that story in person on two different occasions. It is part of his regular stump speech. When he gets to that point of the story, he always waves his arm in the air just exactly that way. In fact, you can even read his lips on the Pro-Coleman ad. It is clear he is telling the Wellstone story. What is NOT clear is why you can not see this. Maybe Coleman is buying you suits on the side? Maybe flying you to the Bahamas on vacations? Maybe he owes you rent money on your rental property and you're worried that angering him will cause him to stiff you further. Is your name on his gas bill? Just curious.

My guess is 99% of the people on these boards that throw around terms like "communist" don't actually know what it means.

" ACORN: American Corruption for Obama Right Now Some how you think being an advacate for poor people is a bad thing and you also think that poor people voting in elections is also a bad thing. I think your wrong! I think this country is in so much trouble because we have a failed President who shows little leadership. Who seems clueless and out of touch with the reality that middle america can't maitain it's standard of living. The problem is also corrupt business and finical leaders who let their greed get in the way of good business decisions. Now they don't have the money to buy votes and false advertiment for the McBush campain. Plus they are now all in line for cooperate welfare. BLEEPING HYPOCRITES! It's time for change and I say vote every incumbent out of office and lets start over again with some new fresh ideas because what we have been doing over the last few years has not been working. It's time for the people to riase up and throw the bums out of office!

Kettle, this is pot. I realize your unbiased take on things is probably right on and, like you said, if the ad stated as such, well, it must be true, right? Here's a little something for you though, does Franken's ad blame Coleman? If so, you may want to research that a bit but, hey, don't let logic, reason and fact be a part of your thought process.

In my book, a moron is someone who doesn't bother to pay attention, yet speaks like they know what they're talking about. Did you bother to watch the ad? or compare the Coleman and the Franken ads? It's so obvious that, while not being the same video, Franken IS telling the same story. So...the organization that created the ad, which Coleman approves of, is being intentionally misleading. This is also the same organization that Coleman wants to be the leader of...the NRSC. By the way, the ad does not blame Coleman. I must be missing your point.

Here, I'll explain it to you and I will use small words and really easy concepts- The NRSC is just that, an ad from the NRSC, it is not approved of by Coleman, he doesn't say that little phrase at the end. Franken's ad states that "ads for Norm Coleman...", no mention of the NRSC. Get where this is going or does everything have to be spoon fed to you? Also, Coleman wants to be "leader of the NRSC", huh, I thought he was running for Senator. Honestly, tell me you are just that biased because no one can be that dumb.

Hah wrote: <quoted text> My guess is 99% of the people on these boards that throw around terms like "communist" don't actually know what it means. Finally a kernel of wheat amongst the chaff! You are right, I suspect most people use "communist" as a universal bogeyman -- some unknown Great Nasty -- and probably wonder if Karl Marx was Groucho's older, non-showbiz brother. I have seen similar clueless references to Socialism and Maoism -- just a clever-sounding ad hominem, a social pejorative of unknown meaning. Time for some wisdom from Woody Allen on this matter: With Capitalism, Man Exploits Man With Socialism, the Reverse is True. From "Love and Death"
