This is ridiculous! The TV ads by both campaigns prove nothing, but aggravation and anger directly against the two candidate's character; the voters however never get anything out of it with the exception of emotional bitterness and inner rage.

If this Senate race wants to move forward, start with the debates first between the two candidates running for office. Otherwise, the 527s don't prove a thing for a reasonable message to the general public.

Both sides have adds that are junk. Then you add the mix of outside ads which really tick me off.

I would rather see ads on the issues and not these attack ads.

I won't throw my vote away on a third party, so much to my dismay my only choice is Coleman. Franken has nothing but jokes behind his campaign. I hope the true Franken comes out at the debates, then Franken will explode like Dean did.

Choose between the whiny liar or the angry liar...
mmmmmmmm delicious choices.

I agree with 'fix'- make ads about their own issues and their own views. All I've seen are playground children masquerading as grown-ups screaming, "No! He did it!"

As I have said before, they are both large-government liberals who don't really connect to minnesotans. Since they don't have much of substance to disagree on, and are not inclined to discuss the issues anyway, all they have is petty and trivial superficialities to fight over.

The republican party has completely failed in leadership when it had both houses of congress and the white house. I get the sense the voters will treat us to both houses and the white house as democrats.

The complete failure of leadership from the democrats will be the next thing we see.

The republicans don't deserve to hold office--all they did was wage war, expand porkbarrel, explode the national debt and serve special interests.

We can all see that when bush wants something bad enough, he gets it. He never cared enough about protecting the financial system from excesses, so we have this mess. Sure the dems used the mortgage system as an instrument of the welfare system, but it was bush's job to protect us from imprudence and speculation.

The next 4 years are going to be ugly, but at so has 8 with the "millionaire's president" W.

Maybe it is time to choose the third party candidate. I am disgusted by the other two.

FBI Raids Obama Friend's Home

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2008/oct/...
Washington Times October 3, 2008
The FBI on Wednesday raided the county offices of a former Illinois state senator who is a poker-playing buddy of Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama.
According to Chicago authorities, the FBI visited the offices in Joliet, Ill., of Will County executive Larry Walsh, a longtime friend of Mr. Obama's, and his chief of staff Matt Ryan.
Mr. Walsh, who served in the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2005, was endorsed by Mr. Obama in his county executive election bid. With the support of some of Mr. Obama's U.S. Senate volunteers, he easily defeated incumbent Republican Joseph Mikan.
Will County auditor Steve Weber confirmed that his office had been asked by the FBI to assist in an investigation, but he did not elaborate on the specifics.
Two FBI agents out of Chicago reportedly spent more than an hour in the Will County offices on Wednesday morning.

Wow you really changed my mind with your insightful facts.

You do realize that Ventura had the highest approval rating EVER for a MN governor!?!?!?

We should vote 'idiots' in more often.

I've never heard it, and I never want to. There is NOTHING funny about rape.

I would vote for a meth addict off the street before I vote for Franken!

* If he was so popular why did he decide not to run for re-election? Duh.

* Ventura massacred the state budget. He was the worst governor in state history. Even the Democrats were fiscally responsible in comparison.

It would be easier to take Franken seriously if he had accomplished anything of note in the public sector prior to this race.

Franken is doing nothing more than trading in his celebrity status for political office. Can you see anyone in Washington taking him seriously? Can you see him working in a bipartisan manner at all?

For the next Olympics - The fast mute event.

I am doing a lot more reading lately, but when I do have the TV on, the remote rarely leaves my hand. By the end of this election, I'll take on anyone in the world in fast muting.

You have more then two choices. People tend to forget about Barkley. I glad they gave him notice in at least one line! The same is true for the president. Nader has his name on the ballot in 45 of the 50 states. Sometimes I think that this country needs a kick in the pants and remember that there is more then 2 parties. The independent party is stronger then ever. Let's have a debate with the three candidates for Senate and see where it goes.
Barkley is/was and always will be governor turnbuckle's flunky- not a good choice for senator and Nader runs every election and never gets elected. Why would we want someone in the office of president who is too stupid to realize that a large majority of people don't want him there?

I find it rather amazing to those who try to defend Norm Coleman. You can use the words like hypocrite or disingenuous to describe our boy Normy. In the early 70's Our boy Normy was a long haired, pot smoking, draft card burning hippy student at Hofstra University who tried to commandeer one of the campus buildings. And why did he consider this behavior ok, he was opposed to the Vietnam War and did not want to be sent to that environment. And here he is today one of war mongering George Bush's close personal political friends supporting sending people who were his age into another questionable conflict. Normy, what happened? When did you forget about those things that were so near and dear to you in the 70's?
What I wonder is why Al Franken does not bring up this matter in a commercial when Normy can dig up old video's of Franken. Franken probably smoked pot at one time and would have definitely been opposed to Vietnam, but he has not changed his position. Personally I am not a fan of Al Franken,
but he is not a phony like our buddy Normy. I know people from St. Paul who never trusted Normy when he was mayor. Just for the fun of it, Google "Norm Coleman hippy" and you will see his whole dossier.
Vote for Barkley, he is a voice of reason that is a lot more appealing than either of these choices.

LOL. You would be amazed at how many Republicans this describes. They grew up, so did Norm.

Like someone pointed out above, Barkley was Ventura's flunky. No more need be said. No way.
