Here is what we are saying - Johnny Isakson, a Republican Senator from Georgia, proposed an amendment similar to the House bill's Section 1233 during the Senate HELP Committee's mark-up of its health care bill.
Great. You're NOW saying A.

Unfortunately, the dumbest President in history said B. Chief sponser, I do believe was the term.

Really. I want these people to design my health care system!

Congress could put a stop to the arguments today if they wanted to. All they have to do is stipulate that they get the same EXACT coverage that is in the plan 100%. I think starting today with Ted Kennedy. Ted gets public healthcare as written in the plan 100%. If there will be end of life for terminal then it starts with Ted. If the physician says hey Ted is not worth saving then ok I am on board.
Congressmen do get coverage as in the plan.
Congressmen have the same health plan choices as all other federal employees. All of these choices are with the same companies that U.S. private employers contract with. The biggest difference between the federal employees' plans and the private employer plans right now is that the federal plans may not cover abortions except where the health of the mother is endangered or in cases where the pregnancy is due to rape or incest. Private plans are allowed to pay for abortions in any case. http://www.opm.gov /insure/health/pla ninfo/index.asp

The federal employee plans are affected by the proposed HealthCare bills equally as much as any other private insurance plan.

A doctor doesn't get to say who's worth saving now or under the proposed health plans.

Isakson isn't exactly thrilled with Obama's historical revisionism:

"Isakson spokeswoman Joan Kirchner told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution newspaper after the press conference that Obama and Gibbs still have it wrong.

"Johnny supports living wills and durable power of attorney. He supports individuals making the choice for themselves — whether to get one, what should be in it, and whom to seek advice from in drafting it," she said.

"He opposes the current House bill because it is the government deciding who has the conversation, how often they have the conversation, and what is to be discussed in that conversation," she added.

Isakson's office said initially: "Isakson vehemently opposes the House and Senate health care bills, and he played no role in drafting language added to the House bill by House Democrats calling for the government to incentivize doctors by offering them money to conduct end-of-life counseling."

Later, Isakson went further.

"This is what happens when the President and members of Congress don't read the bills. The White House and others are merely attempting to deflect attention from the intense negativity caused by their unpopular policies. I never consulted with the White House in this process and had no role whatsoever in the House Democrats’ bill," Isakson said.

Isakson did not sponsor the controversial House language but is the bringer of an amendment in the Senate that is quite different.

His amendment would allow patients to receive the end-of-life counseling but does not provide financial motivation to physicians who participate in Medicare to urge them to do so.

"My Senate amendment simply puts health care choices back in the hands of the individual and allows them to consider if they so choose a living will or durable power of attorney," Isakson previously told the Washington Post.

HA Ha! 2010 is going to be a bloodbath.

For the first time in over two years of polling, voters trust Republicans slightly more than Democrats on the handling of the issue of health care. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that voters favor the GOP on the issue 44% to 41%.

"Democrats held a four-point lead on the issue last month and a 10-point lead in June. For most of the past two years, more than 50% of voters said they trusted Democrats on health care. The latest results mark the lowest level of support measured for the party on the now-contentious issue."

It's so easy to attack Ms. Palin personally, but can you refute anything she said about Obama's evil plan?
According to liberals, everyone will be covered in Obamacare. Considering we'll have the same number of doctors, how will this be possible? Rationing will be inevitable, as Ms. Palin said. The government will decide who lives and dies.
If Ms. Palin is as dumb as liberals claim, how can she see through Obama's snake oil?

Who the hexx cares about her kids, I was in a hurry and she was holding me up. So I want Obama to let me give old people the pill so they won't hold me up in the lines...oops I wonder if the guy behind me has the same kind of pill, after all my name is wheelchair charley?

Why do the right wing nuts argue that "everyone has health care through the ER" but then argue that there are not enough doctors to provide services to everyone if all had access to insurance?
why don't you read everything instead of responding to just this post? I am NOT in favor of using an E.R. like a clinic.

blaming someone else.

LIMBAUGH: The reason we're not supposed to talk about the Nazis is because of the genocide of 6 million Jews. So, no comparison to Nazi Germany and German socialism. We can't go there simply because of the genocide of 6 million Jews. When Pelosi starts calling -- saying people running around carrying swastikas, that is what she means. She is trying to associate people like you and me with that event in the world. And I'm not going to sit here and take it anymore. I am not going to sit here and sit idly by while a bunch of fascist socialists in this country try to smear and impugn mainstream conservatism rooted in the founding of this country with a genocide of 6 million Jews in World War II. That's what they are trying to do. That's the association they are trying to link.

earlier.

AUDIO: Limbaugh again refers to "similarities" between Dem Party leaders, "Nazi Party of Germany"; adds Pelosi "started it"
http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/200908070033

and.

AUDIO: Limbaugh: "Adolf Hitler, like Barack Obama, also ruled by dictate"
http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/200908070033

interesting.

I'm out there every day speaking the truth about their attempts to guide this nation into socialism:

Their government-run health care proposal that will put government bureaucrats in between you and your doctor and end up rationing care -- and the most vulnerable will suffer first and most.

Their cap-and-trade national energy tax that will drive up energy costs for every American and send our jobs overseas.

Their spending spree that has pushed the national budget deficit over the $1 trillion mark for the first time in our history. We're already closing in on $2 trillion and there's no end in sight to their spending.

Their dozens of White House czars with power over your lives and futures and absolutely no accountability to Congress or the people.

And, speaking of unaccountable -- when are they going to open up the Fed's books to the public?

Their political patronage to groups like ACORN -- doling out billions of your tax dollars and partnering with them to collect your private information for the Census.

Without payment, how much time is a doctor going to spend explaining the many choices to be made in a living will?

A person could probably draw up their own but on what experiences would they be basing their choices?

An attorney, too, would draw up a will (for a charge) but how much medical experience could they draw on?

I'd go with the doctor's experience in making end-of-life choices but Medicare doesn't pay for those consultations now.

<quoted text>Well, if you read what i was responding to, you would see my comment in it's true context. The poster before me said that people dies from lack of health care coverage. I said "no they don't". They can go to the E.R. for life saving procedures if they have to. I'm not talking about people using E.R.'s like docotr visits. Get a grip, ok? By the way, we do have healthcare options in America. Buy some, or don't have any and leech off the taxpaying citizens. I'm not sure why people can't understand that concept!
I don't understand how you can ask someone who makes minimum wage to spend half their paycheck on health insurance, just to be able to see a doctor! The average health care coverage for a family is over $1200/mo. The minimum wage earner makes approx.$7.50/hr. Do the math, sparky....
Here's a list of "average health care insurance premiums":http://www.usat oday.com/money/industries/heal th/2005-09-14-family-health-po licy_x.htm
If your company does not offer health benefits, or the benefits are too much money out of your check every month, YOU DON"T HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO BUY HEALTH INSURANCE....
Our government right now GIVES insurance companies 1.7 BILLION dollars to subsidize medicare gaps....for which they often DENY the participants' claims....so they just pocket OUR TAXPAYING MONEY and leave the policy holder high and dry...
HOW IS THAT FAIR???
HOW IS THAT ETHICAL???

Health care is being rationed now! If an employer doesn't provide it and a person can't afford it, that person doesn't have health care available.
Their cap-and-trade national energy tax that will drive up energy costs for every American and send our jobs overseas.
There's lots of fortunetelling over this issue. It's effects won't be known until the law is implemented.
Their spending spree that has pushed the national budget deficit over the $1 trillion mark for the first time in our history. We're already closing in on $2 trillion and there's no end in sight to their spending.
The "spending spree" is modeled after Ronald Reagan's strategy for recovering from the last recession in the '80s. If Reagan had stopped his spending once the recession was over, he'd be regarded as a genius.
Their dozens of White House czars with power over your lives and futures and absolutely no accountability to Congress or the people.
And, speaking of unaccountable -- when are they going to open up the Fed's books to the public?
The Fed is run by bankers. Why don't you ask all those fatcat contributors about this?
Their political patronage to groups like ACORN -- doling out billions of your tax dollars and partnering with them to collect your private information for the Census.
ACORN isn't receiving a dime for collecting private information and they will not be collecting a single piece of private information. They are one of thousands of organizations that the Census Bureau is paying to publicize the 2010 census.

I think our representatives, of all people, should become a little better informed on the issues.
