Why bother writing all these stories about what commuters are doing and what they will continue doing? Who really & truly care??? The BIG people are gonna continue playing their gas price raising games and sit in the corner and laugh.

Someone needs to step in and put a stop to this game playing! All the raising gas prices is a BIG racket and game playing! The ones responsible are making BIG profits off us hard working middle and poor class people! It needs to STOP!!

Its ridiculous that the man we call "president" has not stepped in and stopped this non sense.

Heres the game they play...they make a huge spike...for an example...Gas prices will be sitting at 3.12 a gallon...then bang all of a sudden it will hit 3.45 out of nowhere...were in outrage...lasts a week...then they will drop it to where they want it...like 3.28...just so we go...phew gas prices went down...and are overjoyed to pay the 3.28 a gallon...they will leave it for a month...maybe two...jumping a cent here droping one there...then they will repeat...it will jump to 3.55...we are outraged again...lasts a few days then goes down to 3.40...we are happy again.

ITS BS and our president sits in the Oval Office and wonders why we are in the midst of a recession...HELLLLLLL000000000 0000...maybe if you weren't so busy trying to clean dear old Dads mess you would have noticed...out of the 8 years...what has he delivered to us that he promised? Not much.

I suggest you read this article first:

http://wcco.com/business/gas.price.breakdown....

And maybe, just maybe, you'll figure out how the real world works.

The value of the dollar to the rest of the world's currency would have to improve. For that to happen, both the Federal budget needs to be balanced (and neither Republicans or Democrats are going to make enough changes for that to happen) and consumers need to stop buying stuff made overseas.

That would be the first step. But there is a lot of other countries involved in the process where the President has no say about what happens. He can just ask nicely to get things changed. And he's done that. What more would you have him do?

good. unfortunately money is the only really good wake up call for most americans. We need alternative energy sources, and maybe now that we're feeling it in the pocketbook, we can unite as a country (world really) and figure out what's gonna power the future.

These stories always bring out those that know nothing about economics and government policies and the relationship between the two.

If we didn't have such a bad relationship with the Mid-East...yeah he could. But the fact of the matter is that The Bush's have declared war on the leaders in the Oil Industry...limiting the amount of Oil we receive from those countries.

Now don't even come with the BS about Terrorism...Terrorism occurred with Al-Qaeda not Iraq...oh...and most of those terrorists were from Saudi Arabia...Bush had an agenda for Iraq when he went into office...finish what old pops didn't...and that is the reason we went to war in Iraq. Unfortunately, Bush used 9/11 as an excuse for the War on Iraq.

Price Freeze would work...this excerpt was from Business Service Industry....

With war under way, U.S. Rep. Bob Filner demanded an immediate freeze on gasoline prices nationwide. Filner accused big oil companies of gouging the public. Besides the price freeze, his bill directs the Secretary of Energy to conduct an investigation into rising prices. Also, the bill would make it illegal for anyone to sell gasoline at a price higher than the price on March 10.
