What's 'For Lease' at Trader Joe's site in St. Paul?

That "For Lease" sign that has popped up at the Lexington and Randolph intersection doesn't suggest a change of plans.

...anything to clean that eyesore up. While your at it, tear down the dumps next to it and across the street. The east side of that section of Lexington is an embarrassment.

And now I have another chance to express how much I feel that Dave Thune is an Anti Saint Paul Success zealot.

Yes! Can we please put a Starbucks in, and perhaps a CVS pharmacy, they should also tear down those eyesores across the street and put in a Caribou and an SA or better yet a fast food joint.....Taco bell! This would really turn this area into a quaint, one stop shopping area.

Isn't it already zoned commercial? Do the owners of that property have any rights at all? Btw, the city IS desperate for jobs for its residents. At least, that is the caterwauling I hear.

This wouldn't have happened if they hadn't passed the smoking ban.

The smoking ban caused this.

It is ruining us all.

Hey, lets not build a Bridges of St. Paul project, that would employ thousands, and not cause too much chaos... Lets cry about TIFF... Lets not think about the money we would make as a city from the taxes on that project, and lets leave the flats as a site for hobo's and rapists... This whole St.Paul place has it backwards... Lets build a bunch of condos downtown with nothing to support it... hmmm... no shopping, no light rail, no restaurants, bars, nightlife, nothing... good luck st.paul... go get duped by another guy asking for 10 million dollars to build a horse ranch on the flats!!! HAHAHAHAHAH... wow.. IDIOTS

That corner has 2 commercial businesses, one of the corners is a large apartment complex, busses all day long and if memory serves me correctly, Lexington Ave. & Randolph Street are main throughfares.Nevermind of course that 35E entrance and exit ramps are a mere 100 ft or less from that intersection. Trader Joe's actually might bring some class to that corner. Bob, you must have some serious issues to make those kind of statements or what's more likely you have a hidden agenda. I can't wait til they open. They carry so many unique items and check out Consumer Reports and how many of their items were rated the best. Now all the east metro needs is a Costco Warehouse Store and the area will be set. Costco blows Sam's out of the water.
Woodbury or Eagan would make a great place for a Costco. The closest one is St. Louis Park.

I don't think Costco makes its expansions plans based on your personal needs.
