I've got to say; Way to go Chris. I agree with you.

Hell freezing over must be equivalent to 50 Degrees in St. Small.

And Thune sayeth:
"I got 8,000 people who live downtown who don't want a bunch of Republican lobbyists puking on the streets," said Council Member Dave Thune, who represents downtown and eastern Grand Avenue.

I wonder how many of your ilk they want wandering around, at all hours, with no place to stay. I assume the artists lofts will be open to provide safe harbor for the malcontents.

I want to drink 'til I'm dry, even if that's not until 4:00 a.m., solicit women, boys and spit up on the poor. I won't consider it a successful convention unless all of those things happen.

David Thune Said: "I got 8,000 people who live downtown who don't want a bunch of Republican lobbyists puking on the streets," said Council Member Dave Thune.

Yet Thune endorses and caters to the radical protestors who will cause more problems than a few individuals that will consume too much booze.....not that it's ever happened at a wild game.

Oh, by the way David, that is a very professional statement for a representative from the City of St. Paul. NOT!

Well of course - most council members are in bed by 9pm. Read any good books lately?

I don't think bars should be serving alcohol that late anyway, hopefully people won't be kicked out right at 2pm and can at least enjoy the buzz for a bit.

I'd make the Marlboro Man a bet. Tally the number of arrests of GOP drunk and disorderly arrests to the number of barking moonbats arrested at the convention. Now calculate which costs the city more...
I know where I'd bet my money.

but if you're Irish , go ahead and walk down the street drunk and puke where you please. but only on that special day when you're Irish. oh, and during Grand Old Day, then it's ok.

Runner Gets Homeless on Right Track

http://www.cnn.com/2008/LIVING/04/02/heroes.m...

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (CNN)-- At 5 a.m. on any given day, Anne Mahlum could be found running the dark streets of Philadelphia -- with homeless men cheering her on as she passed their shelter. But one morning last spring, she stopped in her tracks.

"Why am I running past these guys?" recalls Mahlum, 27. "I'm moving my life forward every day -- and these guys are standing in the same spot."

Instead of continuing to pass them by, the veteran marathoner sprang into action so they could join her.

She contacted the shelter, got donations of running gear, and in July 2007 the "Back On My Feet" running club hit the streets.

The first day, Mahlum led nine shelter residents in a mile-long run. Today, Back on My Feet has teams in three Philadelphia shelters, including 54 homeless members and more than 250 volunteers. The group has logged more than 5,000 miles.

Requirements for shelter residents to join are simple -- they must live in an affiliated facility and be clean and sober for 30 days. Members receive new shoes and running clothes, and teams run together three times a week between 5:30 and 6 a.m.

The runners are diverse -- doctors, janitors, students and shelter residents -- but such distinctions aren't apparent.

"All you can tell is who's the fastest," says Mahlum. "You can't tell who's homeless and who's not."

you'll love the hypocrisy in this story:

***Haight neighbors recycle anger about homeless***

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi...

They want the GUBERMINT to aid the homeless...not allow the homeless to help themselves even if it is by cashing in bottles and cans. Geesh people help themselves?? and in their neighborhood??? What are we thinking?

San Francisco...city of selfish liberal hedonists.

In a city with a choking and dying night life, shouldn't the 2nd ward representative be fighting and clawing for all the business he can get instead of insulting his wards biggest event in years? "Puke" washes away with a little water, but the butcher paper lining downtown's windows doesn't disappear as easily or quickly.

A fair point Dan.
As one of his "8,000" I wish Thune would be less concerned about my 4 am sleep and more concerned about the fact that I am unable to find a place to eat within walking distance after 5 pm. People don't move to downtown for peace and quiet.

My apologies to all the marginalized Republicans planning to come to St. Small. But drinking 24hrs a day isn't a Constitutional Right. Public Protest is. They aren't Leftist Moonbats, they're Patriots.
About 200 years ago you dipsh*ts might have known that.

Anyone see or remember the 80's movie Blue Thunder, about a cool, silent-running police helicopter? The observer cop who rode along with the pilot wore a hat with the letters JAFO on the front. They stood for Just Another **** Observer. The St. Paul city council should wear JAFO hats, as well...Just Another **** Omaha.
