the lady who is complaining knew the dog business was next door before she purchased the house. Tough luck on her part. She should move elsewhere.

I was misled and told it was a small home based business...
I have gotten involved in Johnstown, trying to make a quaint, little village even better... How has the person - who won't even state their name on this - helping this town??...

Just drive by her house and see how beautiful her roses and landscaping is.. She is raising the bar in Johnstown and we should applaud her for trying to put in a business that will make our village better... Johnstown is NO place for a smelly kennel. It NEVER should have been allowed in the first - Let's right a wrong and close it down! No one should have to live next to that. Kudos to her for seeing the worth in our town and doing something about it! We need more people like her!

Elizabeth is uphill from the Dismukes. She is flooding their yard with water and debris. The Dismukes have been complaining about this (and other matters) since last year.
If there is not a plumbing/drainage issue then I have to suggest it is sabotage.

Additionally, Elizabeth keeps her trash on the property line (and it stinks) and she runs a compost pile the length of some hideous fencing she has erected. Evidence shows this is directly uphill from the Dismuke dog area. The Dismukes also have evidence of debris washing through wire fencing and gutter guard she has stapled to the bottom of some of her rotting wooden fencing. It is my opinion that the fences are designed to flood the Dismuke property which is exactly what has been happening since she arrived.

The Dismukes have brought in new gravel twice since Elizabeth has moved in (not even a year ago) which has helped temporarily but the "water" keeps coming. The debris coming downhill from her yard is getting trapped in the gravel. The excess "water" is affecting the entire Dismuke property - not only their dog area. The Dismukes have suggested a retaining wall to protect their property or at least some proper fencing that would better minimize surface debris from entering their yard.

Elizabeth also owns multiple dogs and her frequent overnight guests often bring their dogs so that she has 4 or 5 dogs running her entire backyard regularly. The Dismuke dogs never go near the property line but Elizabeth's do. Again, Elizabeth is upill.

Since Elizabeth has arrived she has been telling almost anyone unfortunate enough to wind up in conversation with her that the Dismukes are running an illegal puppy mill and that she (with the help of others) is working to shut them down. As far as I know, this is a crime as well as a civil wrong.

Elizabeth is also quick to mention that she is a master gardener. The flowers are nice but the Dismukes have complained to the village about Elizabeth's excessive use of chemicals in addition to fertilizers and other landscaping material that are washing into their yard.

Elizabeth disparages and harasses other neighbors besides the Dismukes but the Dismukes may be the only ones that have actually called the law over her harassment. The law was called near the end of May. She continues to approach everyone but Jackie, including minor children, most anytime they are in the yard. To date, she has never had a conversation with Jackie.

And for the record, the Dismuke dogs only bark in the middle of the night when creepy neighbors are doing odd things about the property in the middle of the night. And the Dismukes like it that way.

The Dismukes have had one litter of puppies born this year. In previous years, they had multiple litters. Oddly enough as the volume of dogs decreased, the issues the Dismukes have complained about continued to worsen.

It is my opinion that the only thing "extensive" in this case is the length that Elizabeth (and a few deranged others) will go to in attempt to disparage and harass the Dismukes. The harassment must stop. The flooding must stop. The disparaging comments in public must stop.
Have a very nice day.

Elizabeth is a terrible neighbor who spent 8 months harassing neighbors on the other side of her in addition to harassing the Dismukes. The Dismukes have already had to call the police on her for harassment.

When Elizabeth isn't harassing her neighbors and their children, she is disparaging them to anyone that will listen.

Unfortunately, there are a couple of deranged people (and everyone knows who these deranged few are) that encourage her bizarre behavior just as they did with the people before her. The Dismukes have had enough and will be taking legal action.

The Dismukes have never been cited for any smell or barking which is amazing considering the mischief that some obsessed dorks have been up to.

Furthermore, the Dismukes are always going to own dogs and their dogs are always going to use that area of the yard and they are going to do so without being exposed to Lord knows what coming downhill from the Schwartz property whether the Dismukes have to file a law suit or send some people to jail or both.

how about story about the van deest dogs mauling their owner and sending him to emergency?

i think it would be more newsworthy than well-behaved Labradoodles and especially since the homeowner housing the attack dogs was launching a relentless campaign against other johnstown dog owners at the time her son was attacked by the dogs in her own home.

and guess who lays down the stinky mulch at Elizabeth's house, among other things? uh huh

Oh come on. In my opinion, she's an uppity weirdo living on what must be an amazing divorce settlement.

For $40,000, you would think she could hire a contractor or landscaper with the sense to dial up Call Before You Dig (it's the law) before excavation work. The fences are atrocious. I find it very hard to believe they are in compliance with code.

I have no problem using my own name as I respond to what I know is from the Dismukes...Yes, I mulch to keep moisture in and I use no chemicals other than alittle plant food. There is no debris - other than leaves which get trapped on my side of the fence. Why would I water extensively... God had done it for me. I haven't talked to Jackie as I was told it was her daughter's business.
She told me to call her when the smell was bad and I did while complementing her on her landscaping - she then calls the police on what she told me to do... I do not see you Angela at the Downtown Johnstown Inc. meetings trying to better our wonderful town... The last people moved because of the dogs...please Angela - think before you write - I tried being a nice neighbor... Who in their right mind would think even owning 13 plus dogs wouldn't smell and be a nusiance?

Please do not involve Travis Van Deest.. He is an amazing young man working very hard to support himself. He did a beautiful job helping me landscape and had to put up with the dog smell while doing it. He is extremely respectable and I would recommend him to do any job. The "Call Before you Dig" was called and there was no problem. As far as spending $40,000 - that was my savings which I thought would be a wonderful investment in this wonderful town... I never in a million years would think that a neighbor would ever mind someone spending money to better the house right next to them... It only increased the value in your home... can you say yours does the same for mine?

Elizabeth is being dishonest about a lot of things and she appears to be fixated on Angela.

Before You Dig assigns ticket numbers. The Village can check the dates and contractor names on those tickets. That might put at least one item to bed.

Elizabeth also houses larger dogs like labs and lab/golden mixes.

She not only waters on rainy days, she sometimes waters while it's raining - especially since Angela mentioned soil testing. The furious activity after that would've been hilarious were it not having such an adverse effect on the Dismukes and their dogs.

Elizabeth often sprays chemicals with a bottle in each hand. Her friend mixes "lawn chemicals" in the trunk of his car and carries a commercial size sprayer. In addition to flooding her neighbors and washing debris into their yards, she physically deposits yard waste into all surrounding yards - broken glass, branches, trash and leaves.

When she had to dig a trench between her sidewalk and the street to drain some black sludge coming out of the front corner of her property (opposite side, uphill and far away from Dismuke's dog area, she flung the grass and dirt into the street. She has a habit of flinging things off her property and onto the property of others.

She claims she didn't notice a pond of raw sewage sitting (for quite some time) on the other side of her property (opposite and uphill from the Dismukes - closer to her sludge issue). Right.

Some of Elizabeth's hodgepodge fencing is erected backward and in a state of disrepair. They are not only ugly fences, they are impractical, too far off the ground and do not contain her dogs. She has stapled different kinds of wire fencing and what looks like plastic gutter guard all along the bottom of her wooden fences. Evidence demonstrates debris has been coming through the wire and plastic since they've been there. She did not bother to remove the debris between these fences before stapling the wire creating a compost pile which the Dismukes suspect she may be adding to.

After one of her more recent contractors left (perhaps the only one that called ahead for utility markings?) Elizabeth washed a bunch of sand and debris into the Dismuke yard. It has not only been photographed, much of it is still sitting there.

The Dismukes have spent even more money than Elizabeth on their property. They've spent that much on their dogs alone, having been in their home for nearly a decade and all the while owning dogs. Of course spending money gives no one permission to violate the rights of others or to break the law.

Elizabeth was certainly notified a dog breeder was next door, and a sign advertising puppies for sale was in the yard. There were more adult dogs in the home at that time (of the 13 "dogs" 7 are puppies for sale, another is a young male under a year, also for sale, 4 are adults of breeding age and the other is a young female being raised and evaluated for future breeding). Elizabeth has known all along that Jackie is the owner.

Not only has she never had a conversation about the dogs with Jackie, she has never had a conversation about anything with Jackie.

Elizabeth was never friendly. She came in hostile, immediately adopted some very bizarre and strangely familiar habits, and appears to have stepped it up since unannounced visitors told her they didn't smell the Dismuke dogs on her (uphill) property and even more so since the Dismukes have been a lot more insistent regarding the3ir complaints about Elizabeth.

The pattern that has been emerging for quite some time is one of vindictive and horrible behavior toward the Dismukes and it must stop.

I believe the barking dogs in the middle of the night is "disturbing the peace" and should be addressed as well as the odor problem. I live in the country and won't tolerate barking dogs at night since I do work and must be able to sleep. I can't imagine barking dogs with the houses as close as they are in Johnstown.

William, the Dismukes have been under surveillance by some of these dingalings, slandered and harassed over the dogs for a very long time. Don't you think if the complaints were legitimate, the Dismukes would have been cited by now?

I'm not saying you can't tell the Dismukes have dogs. Do the dogs ever bark - yes. Does it go on for more than a few minutes? No. They are some of the best behaved dogs in Johnstown - certainly better behaved than the dogs belonging to those people. Do the dogs do their business outside - yes and it is cleaned up several times a day, especially in warmer weather.

The Dismukes are currently (and for the third time since Elizabeth's arrival) bringing in new materials to better protect them from the excess water and debris coming from her yard. The Dismukes have been dealing with the effects of flooding since she arrived and brought in new materials just last fall.

Since you have such an issue with barking dogs, I'm going to bet you would never buy a house in town next to a dog breeder. But Elizabeth did and she did so being fully informed of that business ahead of time.

They own dogs, they breed dogs and they sell the puppies. It's all legal and frankly protected use of their property.

Elizabeth should maybe move to the country near you. As far as I know, she has harassed neighbors and property owners on both sides of her since she arrived. The Dismukes are certainly no where near perfect but Elizabeth is a nasty neighbor.

I don't know either party involved, but honestly, it sounds to me like they are both acting like children as far as the posts on here.

Do dogs smell? Yes. Does it flood when it rains? Yes.

Can't we all just get along? Apparently not.
