The Morning Call
Pa. driver picks up peacock along roadside
Picking up hitchhikers can be risky, but this one in northeast Pennsylvania was a bird of a different feather.

Why didn't the driver just leave him there??

What a fluff piece. Plus it's not even local news.
This guy's lucky he didn't get slammed with a fine by the State Game Commission for tampering with a wild animal that's probably looking for a mate, not a car date. |

Should have left it be. Several farms in my township have peacocks and they wander the area. No issues.
Take it back. |
|
EAT IT.

I am sure who ever owns the bird will get it back. I am glad It was not hurt.

What's wrong with the Game Commission, Animal Control, and especially the Zoo?
What are we paying them for? He should take the bird to the Zoo and leave it there. Let them deal with it. |

I hear peacock tastes like spotted owl.

This is a domesticated bird. He probably wasn't far from home. Hopefully, the owner will be able to contact Mr. Dimmick and get his bird back. If not, there are quite a few people who raise peacocks as pets. One of them might want to take in the stray.

He must have thought it was a new
NBC Reality Show with the Peacock! |

You're the one who got her? I drove around wasting gas last night yelling the same thing and a drag queen ran over to my car. I was so disappointed. |

Good to know there are good people out there.. anyone who says that he should have left it, is probably a bad person. I mean its obvious this creature is not indigenous to the area. he was trying to help out.. you know being a good citizen.. its a shame some of you think otherwise.. just another example of a falling society with decreased morals and value.. its a shame really.. i feel bad for you.
