The Roman Catholic Church really turns me off how they stigmatize planned parenthood.

The Catholic Church is slowly becoming more and more irrelevant in todays world. Witness the long, gradual decline in their membership. And I'm a Catholic, but not a sheep.

The real issue here is that the church wants the money given to them.

If you agree with abortion, which is promoted at Planned Parenthood (an oxymoron) then you are no Catholic, and you should leave with all who believe like you. It is murder, plain and simple. Justify it any way you like, the truth is the truth.
look...im sure you dont do every **** thing that there is to do as a catholic so get off your high horse...how about just paying attention to your own life..and get off the ..holier than thou...crap ....people will pick and choose what they believe in and dont believe in....take ten catholics ten jews ten whatever and you got everyone feeling different about something .........does that make them bad people...i think not...if you had a daughter that needed an abortion because of medical or whatever reason....then what....

I think Jesus and God determine who are the good Catholics and who are not. Why don't we let them decide. Our job is to forgive our neighbors 7 x 70.

Actually I think that the real issue is that the shepards of the church are becoming too detached from the flock.

This is the most repulsive display of support for an agenda over the health of women. This has nothing to do with their phony "respect for life". It has to do with expanding their influence and power at any cost...it's no wonder our children are becoming more ignorant and haven't mastered even basic science and history.

planned parenthood is not only a abortion factory its also a political movement ! all we ever here about is breast cancer marches! why is that? its because only some of the money goes to its ADVERTISED agenda ! its funny how liberal socialist just hate the catholic church! it gets in the way of there agenda.
The Catholic church is the largest political movement on the planet. Furthermore, it is not truly concerned with life at all....only expanding it's influence and power. Just look at the South American continent. The Catholic church would have the United States reduced to a third world backwater...ignorant and pregnant, bowing to its phony images.

It's a tragedy that you would allow a religious agenda to educate your children on "true history", while it disavows the science associated with the use of birth control, and espouses extreme views on women's rights.

No, I do no think Catholic schools are any better.

jjr,

It's nice to see that you're educating the next generation to be just as full of ignorance and hatred as you are.

PP is an abortion provider first, and a counseling outfit/contraceptive provider a distant second. Why is is "stigmatizing" to point this out?

Their free and anonymous STD testing services do wonders for preventing the spread of diseases and providing treatment. I think that that's a pretty good thing whatever your opinion of abortion may be.

I mean, the catholic church is anti-condom. How outdated is that? I give them three more generations. Three.

Wow.

Just wow. I'm shocked at your level of malice directed at women. I'm not sure exactly what your issue is with the female of the species (they make drugs for that sort of anger now, you should try some), but women's rights encompasses much more than the right to control her body. Man you're bitter...

From PP's annual report (easily accessible online if you care to learn the facts before you spout):

2007 Medical Visits:

358,614 Family planning
61,245 Pregnancy tests and counseling
22,135 Primary care, adults
13,764 Pediatric care
18,641 Prenatal care
13,847 Abortions
18,234 Other services
232 Sterilizations
506,712 Total medical visits

By my calculations, that means that abortion accounts for 2.7% of the services they provide.

But let's be honest here, okay? Why don't you admit that you have just as much problem with family planning, STD screening and other services that PP provides?
