Wow, there must be a strange monster that sucks cars into the Florida canals. I read stories like this all the time, it can't be the people crashing into the canals, it has to be something else!

My friend and I were the first people to see the accident. We were heading west bound on orange when the tail lights of the suv caught my eye. I made a u turn but by the time we were out of the car and on the bank of the canal the car was going under. To the family I am truely sorry there was nothing more that I could do to try and save your family memeber. I hope you all the best and am truely sorry for your loss. I wish there was more I could have done we called he cops as soon as we saw the suv was in the canal. I am so sorry.

How the hell did he end up in the C-14 canal along Atlantic Boulevard? More fact checking sunsentinel, the C-11 is the canal along Griffin Road. P.S. Regards to Montano's family. Sorry.

I knew Joe ad worked with him for almost a year. He was not Spanish, by the way and was as American as apple pie with blue eyes, blonde hair and big dimples - and a lot of muscles! He was a good guy who always had a joke ready and a smile...his death has left a lot of people that I care about hurting. My heart goes out to all. Joe was a great guy and had a lot to offer the world. He'll be missed.

I wouldn't imagine that, if one were driving anywhere near the 35 mph speed limit posted there, that they would be able to lose control and flip into a canal. But that's just an opinion, nothing more.

Joe was everything to me. The love of my life, my entire world. He was the most amazing person i ever met. He cared so much about everyone in his life. Everyone always came first before himself. His life was just starting to fall into place and he was really trying to get everything together. I got to see him a couple hours before he died and he told me that i was his hero for always saving him and that he felt like god was giving him a sign to get his life together. I understand there wasnt anything anyone could do. God needed him in heaven. Joe was an angel here on earth and now hes watching over his family. My life will never be the same without him and I'll never love anyone the way i loved him.

Joe was a phenomenal person with a big heart. To all you heartless bastards, who do you think you are? Joe was not Spanish, so apparently you are just so ignorant and narrow minded that you fail to see that there is a chance he wasn't spanish. And to who ever this Mangler guy is wow I bet that you have never once done over the speed limit, even by five mph. You are another ignorant person who would rather say hurtful things than to say this is an unfortunate loss. Why read something if you are a cold hearted ****. Put yourself in the shoes of his family, how would you feel if you were to read something like this. Get a life, grow up, and before you criticize others maybe you should take a look in the mirror and find out who you are.

And there is no monster in sofla sucking people into canals. Cities like Davie refuse to put up guard rails along the water protecting any drivers that may lose control. Also, there so much construction that goes on for miles and is so unorganized.
Hopefully they will be less worried about keeping the town looking rustic and be more responsible and concerned about their citizens. Put up some damn guard rails!!

I think it is sad that someone who has their head up their arse cannot give a darn about anything but starting crap when someone dies a tragic death. Next time you appreciate your freedom you can thank his family you idiot.
My deepest sympathy to all of the family. My heart goes out to you.
