Sad. People need to be more careful when they shoot guns as a celebration on New Years. They don't know where that stray bullet may land.

Looks like somebody fired a gun from their car on the Turnpike to celebrate the New Year. When will you people learn - the bullet has to land somewhere.

They have Shannon's Law in Arizona because a girl was killed by someone firing shots into the air on a holiday. Why do people feel the need to shoot guns?!! Let alone into the air?! What fun is that? Stupid people

Great job fire rescue.

Looks like the hospital believed you when you told them it looked like death from natural causes.

It's impossible to be careful when firing a gun into the air. I hope there's an arrest on this. A man is dead for no damned reason.

I see that now these days noone can enjoy the holidays anymore. cause everyone is getting killed or injured and its just rediculous. its not even safe to be out anymore. i just believe that they need to make the law a little more tuffer. cause childern are dying. people are vanishing into thin air. it just needs to stop.

What is wrong with you people and your love of guns? We are not living in a combat zone? Then you wonder why some of "us" think most of you are weird. Too much "gun happiness" among all of you. Shame on you.

The law of physics never fails Brent. I wonder how many deaths occur in the middle east from stray bullets? Over there that is all you see - discharging their automatic guns into the air.

It is sad that people just don't care or that they are just that ignorant.

The paramedics on scene should have exposed the patient to find injury. If the patient was in cardiac arrest the chest area must have been inspected due to the fact the paramedics would have to place the ekg pads for defibrillation.
And if they placed him on a backboard the back should also be surveyed when logrolling the patient onto the backboard. Its hard to believe there wasnt a speck of blood on this patient. Id like to know exactly where he got shot? That would tell if a lawsuit is in order. If the guy was shot in the chest its a slam dunk for the plaintiff. If he was shot in the back it might be a little tricky, but standard of care here was definitely deficient. As paramedics , we are also investigators. The investigative techniques here were not good enough and this man died.

The chances of locating the origination of the shot is highly unlikely, and ashame that someone's ignorant sence of "fun" has caused a loss of someone's loved one. Sometimes I hate reading the newspaper, it make me realize how unintelligent my fellow man really is.....

Are you serious? If the hospital couldn't even tell there was a bullet, what the heck makes you think fire rescue could have? That's whats wrong with this sue-happy world we live in. No matter what, he was dead, wether the bullet was discovered at the scene, at the hospital, at the ME's office, or wherever, he was DEAD.

If the bullet was fired in the air, when it came down, doubtful it would have hit him in the chest or back. And since it killed him, I would think that the bullet must of gone through the top of his head. Strange that there was little blood, but then again, I am not medically trained, so maybe it makes perfect sense -- Only thing I know about gunshot wounds is what I see in movies and on TV.

Everyone who insists on shooting on new years should get blank adapters or barrels and they can fire as many shots as they like. Also maybe shoot into a backstop instead of the air. Dont shoot at all. Use firecrackers.
