House approves bill that aims to help strapped homeowners facin...
The 272-152 vote reflected a congressional push to send election-year help to struggling borrowers and to reassure jittery financial markets about the health of two pillars of the mortgage market.

Oil hence gas prices being high are from speculators. It is responsible for anywhere between 20-50% of the present hike in oil prices with the moist agreed amount being 30 percent of oil price increases.
Up until 8 years ago (before the Bush Administration took office) when you purchased oil futures you had to take physical possession of the purchase within 30 days. That meant if you purchased 500,000 barrels of oil you had to take it and store it. Today thanks to former senator Phil Graham – the guy that just resigned from the John McCain committee for president – he pushed through the Senate and the president signed it a bill that allowed the oil futures to be traded on paper with NO physical possession needed. No other futures received this type of leeway! Phil Graham was head of the Banking Committee, Finance Committee and the committee that oversaw the futures market Remember he is the one that recently called people who complained about high gas costs “Whiners” and “It was all in their head about a recession and loss of jobs” This is a first class piece of **** if there ever was one. Since then up until today you have companies who have NO manufacturing plant, nor airplanes, no merchant or cruise ships or any other type of machinery that uses oil purchasing shares only to resell them to one another on paper driving up the price that eventually legitimate manufacturing or transportation industries have to purchase. Naturally the price is passed on to the consumer in the form of higher prices. Some of these trades involve millions of barrels of oil and have been purchased by Wall Street banking firms, investment firms and even large legal firms. You the customer are paying right now about 80 cents to a dollar per gallon more on the price of gasoline due to this. Bush said just recently (regarding the real estate problem we are now in) on camera that “Wall street had a drinking problem and now is suffering from a hangover”. Is the leader of the Free World?????? He had a smirk on his face! |

I live in a smaller house than I want, will someone please pay me so I can get a bigger one? Please, Mr. Obama, solve all my problems for me?
|

There ya go taxpayers. You folks who were wise, prudent, intelligent with your money......you just got nailed with the cost of paying for those who WERE NOT!
All under the warm-fuzzy words of 'rescue' for those who are 'trapped' INSIDE OF THEIR OWN STUPID MOVES! |

So now we bail out irresponsible borrowers and dump the debt back on the responsible citizens via higher tax burdens. It's no wonder the GOP is projected to get another drubbing this November when they betray their base like this. Fiscally they are no different than the Dems now.

If my crystal ball had been working at the time that I purchased my home I would have made a different decision. Had the ball told me that I would lose my job to one that paid HALF what I was making I would have held off, had the ball told me that greedy gas giants would have us over the preverbial barrel I would not have bought. Has nothing to do with being stupid,
I'm sure this bill will have no help in store for me. Hope all the people that can forsee the future can hold on for the next few years. Maybe if your crystal ball is working you can send me tonights winning lottery numbers. |

The article fails to explain how I can get in on the gravy train. Should I discontinue making payments on my home now? Where do I apply for my share of this outrageous scam?

Has anybody told the government that many of these people do not want their houses because they are not worth as much as they owe on them.
|
|
Doesnt make much sense does it. Do something right get punished. Do something stupid get bailed out. I for one am sick and tired of the cant do, do nothing, know nothings and entitlement seeking idiots that expect the government to bail them out at every turn and expect hard working taxpayers to give them something for nothing. We have the worst politicians in the free world here in America and it doesnt matter if they are democrats or republicans. They all are just about smart enough to come in out of the rain and thats about it! We as a society should just agree on the stupidity of some of these political ignoramuses no matter that party they are! |

What about us RESPONSIBLE lenders who hpay our mortage and taxes on time every month. What do I get Mr. Bush? Being responsible DOES NOT pay is the message sent here. What a crock of s*#@!!
|
|
Quit your crying. Bush started what will be a $1 trillion war and got the economy in such bad shape that billions of dollars must be spent to save us all from its implosion. I don't follow a party, just the truth. It's all that matters. |
|
|
Unfreaking believable. So now we responsible homeowners who pay our mortgage on time every month and didn't buy a home with a mortgage payment beyond our ability to pay, get to bail out all the investors like that guy in Sorrento Springs who bought four homes, and greedy individuals who had to have it all, or had no business buying a home in the first place. So how long will it be before we have to bail these people out, AGAIN!

Some of you guys lack minimal amount of intelligence, firstlt, this bill will only help home owners not investors, meaning people who lost their jobs or income due to the mess this government created by going to an unnecessary war and all kind of mess thet made, and it will only offer those cash strapped home owners a new loan with low-fixed rate that will enable them to keep their homes and not be a burden to the government and the banks, because if those houses go to foreclosure, EVERYBODY loses, banks, government, and neighbors.

Damn I'm glad I bought (and paid off) a house I could afford so now I can pay for some dumba** that doesn't have a hope in hell of keeping his house even with assistance...
And to think that our stupid "representatives" think that this bailout is going to help them come election time! |
In case you haven't noticed it was the Democratically controlled Congress that passed this bill |

Wrong, this market needs to correct, and until it does all this acomplishes is prolonging the inevitable. And if this is not a bailout, why does the government need to be invoved? There is nothing to stop a bank from renegotiating a loan if they want to. |
|
Let this be a lesson to all...forget about responsiblity and always make the dumb choice. Your responsible neighbors and socialist government will be there to help you out. After all, it's not your money - it's theirs!

Let prices fall all market correct itself. What is bad for sellers is great for buyers.

All I'm saying is i want a new low interest rescue loan like yesterday! I should get a lower rate because I actually pay my mortgage.
