Along with the city's 2009 budget, Mayor Lisa Wong also gave City Councilors a copy of a report compiled by the state's Department of Revenue that outlines the city's past and current fiscal state and proposes ...

I like the "utilize all means to collect property taxes". Deadbeats should have their names listed in the newspaper, have collection agencies calling them at work, be hauled into small claims courts and have their assets including vehicles seized by the sheriff, etc.

Why not? That's where the responsibility should have been to begin with. We have been running up credit card debt for almost 10 years.
Along with total lack of involvement and allowing your past elected officials to run the city into the ground. We all did this. It was easier.
Now it's time to pay. So what, kill the messenger?
The one person who has the intelligence to get us out, however difficult and painful it is?.

Come on Fitchburg, you know this to be true. That is why we voted for her. She and the city council have been working very hard to get us out of this mess. The first time it feels like pain we cry foul..
Let's get behind them. Lets remind them and everyone else that we want a better Fitchburg and are will to suffer through this.

Lets raise water fees, sewer fees, building permit fees, buisness fees and add fee after fee on people who have already been victimized by political incompitence. It's time to cut the costs that have been politically mismanaged and take away the city owned cars and sell the city owned vacant properties that are off the tax rolls. This city already has an attraction problem and it will only get worse if people can't afford to pay all the fees they are raising and adding on.

I guess if you voted for Mylott, then you must do like Mylott, and pass the buck, and call everyone in the City Council and Mayor Wong's administration incompetent.

So I guess it is just better not to pay, and allow the problem to get worse. Just like President Bush, idolized by Mylott, imitated to a "T"!

Wong dosen't have a clue!
The police had 2 new officers quit in July 2008 positions unfilled, two more officers retired in April 2009 positions unfilled, now 6-8 more will be laid off that equals 10 - 12 less officers.
Come on Lisa get your act together.

The cops are also the only City Departmetn not to get a raise for the last two years. Yup zero percent of zero percent equals zero. They are also getting zero for FY09.

How about cutting the Departments that took money over manpower?

Hey Lisa how much money did the Ambulance FUnd make? Good move it went from a private company back to the city where it's made almost nothing in collected funds. Why not send it back tot he private side? What maybe you'll lose a vote or two!
