This is clear child endangerment, in addition to trespassing. Maybe the police will step in. God knows DSS won't.

I totally agree with JRR! The DSS will step in if a parent gives a well deserved slap on the butt for the child's own protection, but this incident resulted in a DEATH of one child and another in the hospital...Dss deserved the D- they recieved!! It's incidents such as these that are TRULY "child endangerment"!!

Stacie, I agree with you 100%!!!! I am appalled at those first commenters. This family is devistated and the father has enough to deal with without people saying it was his fault. Some people just disgust me.

Stacie & Ranae I am with you. This is just an awful accident. Fathers and sons do these kind of things all the time. I am sure both boys were in their glory out 4-wheeling with the "guys".
My prayers go out to both families.

I agree Stacie and Renae! I can't believe others are talking this way. I don't know the people involved at all but I can tell you that there are TONS of people that go off roading up there, and this was a complete accident. They were trying to protect their kids by keeping them in the car, they didn't relize that CO2 was going into the cabin of the car. How can you people talk like this. Clearly you are not from this area and no nothing about how much fun offroading can be! This was a treat for these kids to be able to take part in it and EVERYONE goes up in those woods to offroad! EVERYONE! It's a very common place!

as a family member to this child i am in total agreeance with stacie....matti loved his son...they were two peas in a pod...alejandro was his fathers side kick....were you saw matti you saw his son...... i am so frustrated and fed up with these bias negative opinions you **** are giving out because if god forbid in you were in a giving situation like this one...... it was a tragic accident that not only is the father suffering through but also the mother and the rest of the family opinions are like **** we all have one but come on in a time like this keep the negativity and lack of knowledge into the family and accident to yourself

oh my goodness!! a tradgedy like this really brings out the morons!! Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless gas that we have all come to be to comfortable with feeling we are safe from. Would you know what to look for, or what the symtoms of CO poisoning are?? If you put your children in the back of a car after a day out having fun, and they appeared to fall asleep in the back of the car, would you be alarmed??? People who don't know what happened need to shut up!!!!

JRR & CAJ, What would have been better? The child be left at home while the dad goes out and plays? It's called being a parent and letting your child experience different ways to have fun other than go to a bar or drink at home. You two just love pointing fingers don't you?

I think what everyone is missing here is that this was truly and accident. I am sure no one set out that day and said hey let's get stuck in the mud and maybe just maybe the boys will get carbon monoxide poisoning. Get real. If this was a case of neglect the fathers would have left the boys home alone while they went out for a joy ride. This was a couple of fathers thinking they would do something nice and it just so happened to turn out very badly. I hope all you ill wishers never have to endure what these two families have endured. Just remember what you have all said here when and if you are ever presented with a personal tragedy such as this.

I agree with the majority!!!! Alejandro was greatly loved and well cared for. It sickens me that society today has nothing better to do than to give opinions on subjects they know nothing about!!!! Trajic accidents like this happen. ITS NOT ANYONES FAULT!!!!!!!!!! a 9 year old boy will never know now what it wouldve been like to experience life, and all JRR and CAJ can say is that someone should be held accountable. In a time like this more attention should be paid to the grieving families instead of society's cynical outlook on everything!!! My heart and prayers go out to Matti and Elena and all their families in this time of mourning, he will be greatly missed!!! but we can take solace in knowing that hes aboves us now watching over us!!!

Just ignore these stupid morons! The father shouldn't be listening to these comments either, or feel at fault. It was an accident and it could have happened to any of us. TO THE FAMILY: Keep your head up and keep in mind that a lot of people are praying for all of you. God have plans that we don't always understand. My heart TRULY goes to all of you.

Angry in Lunenburg

The majority of this property is owned by the Lunenburg Water Department. Another large portion is owned by the people at Mass Ave Motors, who have no issue with people accessing the trails. Also, the employees of the Lunenburg Water District use these trails to ride their dirtbikes and go off-roading in their trucks. Several property owners abutting this land (including ourselves), use these trails for hiking and snowmobiling. So trespassing is hardly an issue as obviously the town police and public officials are aware of this. There is only one back area of this property that is marked no trespassing on property owned by a private citizen, and these children were not on that property.

This was clearly an accident. I cant believe anyone would consider this a DSS issue. Obviously they do not have children or they would know spending time with your parents is the one things all kids love to do. These kids probably were loving the experience of the 4wheelin with the guys. Im sure the guys did not realize the pipe was stuck in the mud or how badly the vehicle was stuck in the mud. This is just a tragic accident and my heart and prayers go out the the families of both children.

Prayers are Answered
|
There has been many who have prayed for the family of the child who is now with the Lord and the child who now has come out of a coma. This is an opportunity to rejoice that our prayers were answered by a gracious God so that the child may live. May our prayers continue to be with both families. As a father of 6, my heart goes out to both fathers. May God strengthen each of you and your families.
