This story is ridiculous, did anyone condsider that he may have just hit the tree by accident, not the one beer or the pot.. ridiculous anyone who knows anything about marijuana knows that the intoxication level is nill and it is more about the mood it puts you in.. as far as the beer one beer is not enough to even get a five year old a buzz. call it what you want people get into car crashes everyday,talking on phones, playing with radio,just not paying attention and being overworked and underslept.. including the police maybe they are high when they crash too.. mechanical failure, lack of sleep, bad road conditions may have also been factors, but because there is a vote in november about decrimilization of marijuana in Mass, the police and media are going to play up, and over play every accident and story that pertains to marijuana... Lets be real this story is more about politics and less about facts.. The fact marijuana is no where as intoxicating as alcohol and infact heavy marijuana smokers feel almost no effects other than that of a very weak tranquilizer... and if alcohol is legal than marijuana should be also. more police calls are alcohol related than all other drugs combined. alcohol has high rate of accidents and domestic violence incidents and people commit crimes they really cannot remember under the influence of alcohol and black out all the time some even drown in their own vomit and die... the current laws against marijuana are a disgrace to america and to freedom, and the only reason that marijuana was criminalized was to harass african americans in jazz clubs and to round up mexican migrant workers.. before you even judge marijuana take a look at the history of the drug itself.. if white people were smoking marijuana in 1937 than it would have been another pro-hibiton just like alcohol ending in failure,,,, oh wait that's what happening now, it just took 70 years for America to wake up, and realize marijuana is a far better of a substance than alcohol and is not dangerous like the government made people to believe with the absolutely riducouls commericials in the 50's and 60's. if we live in a country of equality and justice, we as a people should have laws that are based in fact and reason, and not out of ignorance and paranoia... think about it.. the largest sponser for the adds for (partnership for drug free america) are paid for by alcohol and tobacco, both deadly drugs and nobody has a problem with that. Do alcohol and tobacco have the american people's best interest at heart ?????? ya right don't think so. be educated and not ignorant...

Anyone who knows anything abot weed knows thay you never tell a cop you only had one joint. You also never tell the cop you had more than one beer. What you wrote is a little different than what you see on the street every day. Any way you look at it, it is a mind altering drug, if it changes your mood, it has altered your awareness of you surroundings. Take a look at some of the people in substance abuse treatment centers and listen to their stories, it's a little different than that rosy little picture you paint.

Some people makes me sick! what difference does it make what effects any drug can cause on you? you just CANT drive under the influence of any drug,what if this looser killed someone on that accident!!! justifiying and even talking about it is SICK!!!! sick country!!!

kinda ridiculous when they block you from posting your opinion on here I had to log in as a new person because i was blocked. what does it matter if it was one joint or 5 if you really have been there and done that you know you only get so high and if you smoke anymore its just gonna result in a head ache, unlike alcohol which you can use till you are blacked out or unconscious.. as far as rosy pictures most people aren't in rehab for marijuana, if you believe that than you are being ridiculous and if they are in rehab for weed, believe me they are being forced by the courts and their probation and can't wait to take their last urine exame so they can go home and smoke marijuana again. they just do the drug treatment classes cause they are manditory whan you are arrested, people check in for crack,heroin, meth, and perscription drugs and even yes everyone's favorite drug (alcohol) has the biggest rehab following in AA, or did we forget about that, its not about painting a rosy picture or what somebody does on public road ways... my point is about freedom, and if you can socially enjoy alcohol with all its harmful effects on the person and society, then you should be able to use a far less dangerous alternative in marijuana.. if you get pulled over and are intoxicated and cannot pass a sobriety test then yes, that is when the government should intervine. But if you can drink booze, you should be able to smoke pot in your home or in public a establishment designated for the use of marijuana like in amsterdam... the only thing that makes me sick is ignorant judgemental people, because they try to ruin everyone else's life, because they disagree with certian lifestyles, and they got their head up in their own shade so far and don't bother to seek the truth....
