It is amazing. When I moved into the city last year, my choice was based on a tax and water rate that was lower than the city where I previously lived. In the 6 months I have lived in Leominster, my taxes (in Leominster) have increased over $200 a quarter, the assessment on my home increased (in a tight market, that is amazing), and now water is going up. One question is, Is this an water rate increase over and above the one that is coming? If I had known the city was run like this, I would have moved elsewhere or stayed where I was. I am looking forward to my first chance to vote because someone needs to held accountable for these constant increases. I appears that city councilors don't understand that Leominster residents have less money to spend but the city wants more of it.

Yes, it is amazing....I received my water bill and now there is a "minimum" rate...This should be illegal.. I inquired on the city website about this new billing fee structure and did not receive a reply....My question is with the new minimum billing is: if I use 35.00 of water per bill but am billed 41.00. Where does the difference go????

Counsilor Rosa has excellent ideas to get this problem under control. His vision is what more politicians should share in.

Vote Dennis Rosa for state representative!

Have you priced water or taxes in other areas? I know no one like a tax increase or a rate hike but, Leominster has a lot to offer in quality of life. you get a pretty good return here for your hard earned tax dollars. Low crime,Good services and trash removal is still free!

Two years ago when my out of town rate increased twofold there was no one in Leominster who could have cared. My rate will probably increase again, but so will all you good people who live in Leominster.WAH !
As far as starting an entrprise for the system, all the workers on the "public teet" will have to see how the real world works,as their jobs would be privatized, saving the city countless dollars in benefits.

Leominster may have a rising water rate, but who doesnt? Look at fitchburgs rate. Rising prices are happening whether you want them or not. get used to it and stop complaining. If you moved here and dont like it, move back. Leominster doesnt need any complainers. There are much worse places charging more. SUck it up.

What other community in the area can claim to have a balanced budget,$8 million in free cash in the bank, low crime, booming construction, both retail and residential? Mr. Rowlands is always finding fault with things, which are running just fine. Really, we have a 10 term Mayor, and if things were so bad, how come he gets re-elected time and time again.
Then there's Fitchburg...

Watch out for Leominster's "Top Notch" fiancial team. Richard's is a shady weasel and your next State Rep Rosa (the self proclaimed watchdog of the taxpayer's money) is his puppet. They're crooked. Demand a refund of this illegal overcharge now so they know we're on to their thieving ways.

Yes that MAY be true. Where are your new schools? where is your new fire department? where is your new police department?
Oh ya yo have a new library. See where that is going to get you when the roofs' fall in.

It is a shame that someone can not voice an opinion without someone needing to berate them. I have noticed a lot of that lately and people wonder why more people don't come forward to make changes in society. Instead of obuscating an issue, people should be able to discuss one issue without being occused of condemning the whole city. I am not planning to move back because I do like living in Leominster as it has many redeeming qualities. But, I am planning on making my voice known when I feel it necessary and working for positive change. I hope you can do the same. God Bless.
