David Rubin's office in Beverly Hills was raided by the FBI in relation to this probe. I haven't read anyone bringing that up

I really disagree on our Bill being like Blago.
Politics is about the power to get things done. Moving the power around with your partners to get things done is as old as politics.

What makes it different is that Blago did it for his own personal gain.

I am proud of Bill Richardson for playing his political chips for the people of New Mexico and now for the people of the United States.

Go Bill Richardson

I knew it was only a matter of time the gov would get caught. A saying in Spanish is perfect: "Tanto andas entre la **** que al fin algo se te prende!" "You hang out around poop long enough and some will eventually get stuck on you!"

Yes propilot...sausage and laws...the process is bloody and smelly...in the end some good comes out of it..

This is the society we have allowed to happen...

...wake up and pay attention to what is happening and develop your own political capital by coming up with solutions in your neighborhood and find your legislature and become a "player"..find people that can see a win for you and win for others...this is politics

I think what's really missing from this conversation is a recognition that --if these things are true -- Richardson DID do it for personal gain. Since when is negotiating for a campaign contribution "getting things done." If he had negotiated a lower price for taxpayers to pay the contractor or better quality construction in return for the interchange, that's one thing. Building the interchange in exchange for a contribution? I would say that's very hard to be proud of and downright dirty.

"The Signet facility will produce silicon photovoltaic modules for commercial rooftop and ground-mounted solar power systems. The first phase of the plant will produce enough to power approximately 20,000 homes, Signet officials said Tuesday."

"In 2005, the average monthly residential electricity consumption was 938 kilowatt hours (kWh), according to the Energy Information Administration"

I just knew that once they found the right closet door, all his dirty skeletons would come tumbling out. I don't know whether to cheer because he's finally being exposed or cry because we may not be getting rid of him after all.

Since when is playing political chips to get campaign contributions a good thing. Just another Democrat defending their own, probably after picking on Republicans. The old it's okay if my people do it. Get a clue, dirty is dirty not matter what party.

I doubt he should give up his day job just yet.The probe will expand and long before February confirmations. I doubt the Obama Administration can divert its attention to defending "common New mexico practices'

This is just the beginning of the all the skeletons in Billy's closet. None of which should make any New Mexican "proud' of his so-called "accomplishments" for the state done at our expense for his personal agenda.

This story broke nationally on Monday. Local paper doesn't do a story until Wednesday? Not even anything on the web site Monday or Tuesday with a link to any other source. Think there would be a 2 day delay if the story was about a Republican? We all know the answer to that.

Actually, this is scene II in the new 4 year reality show called the "Obama Administration" ...

Finding honest politicians is about as easy as "being transparent"...

Perhaps what is more important is how he could go from a budget surplus-to be shared out- to a deficit in less than 6 months. Something to do with an election?
