Senators voting no on the substitute SB12 were: Adair, Asbill, Beffort, Boitano, Campos, Cisneros Cravens, Duran, Harden, Ingle, Jennings, Kernan, Leavell, Lovejoy, Martinez, Munoz, Neville, Payne, Pinto, Rue, Ryan, B. Sanchez, Sharer, Smith, Ulibarri

That would make the ten Democrats voting no: Campos, Cisneros, Jennings, Lovejoy, Martinez, Munoz, Pinto, Sanchez, Smith, Ulibarri

How can we get the roll call on it?
Find the Bill identification and search on googel. But even easier is to call and ask one of the House members who voted in favor of it.
Then post the info on here and I will post it on Topix
Pics of the ones who voted no are also good. If you can, apply to become an editor on Topix for you local, county or State. What ever area Topix has listed. Then you can empower yourself. There is a reason I spend hours online each day. And gay dating websites aren't it.

Father, I'm praying for "Ivan Sanchez" to choose to live in obedience to the Word...

Help them be those who faithfully obey You. May they desire to obey You and what You ask of us in Your Word as an expression of their love for Jesus. Your Word says we are slaves to what we obey, so I ask You to help them become slaves to obedience, the obedience that leads to right living and holiness.(Deuteronomy 28:11a; John 14:15; Romans 6:16, 18, 19b)

Open their eyes to see the wonderful truths of the Bible, and teach them to choose the way of truth, setting their hearts to live as You say we should live. May they be eager to learn what You want them to do, for You have set their hearts free!(Psalm 119:18, 30, 32)

Teach them to follow Your commands; help them to understand them. Give them the desire to obey You with all their hearts. Take away their foolish desires.(Psalm 119:33–34, 37)

May they love You and follow Your commands, for they're not too difficult. In every weakness, Christ, who was obedient even to death, is their strength! And You'll be faithful to bring them through every temptation.(1 John 5:2; Philippians 4:13; 2:8b; 1 Corinthians 10:13)

And thank you for making me gay. It took me many years to stop questioning Your Will for my life. When I did I understood that you had a purpose for me in your Creation. I pray that people like Ivan will also stop questioning Your reasons for what You do. They claim to have faith but I find it difficult to truly believe them. So I do as I was bidden. I pray for them.

In Jesus' name, amen.

What the biblical Lord finds abominable:

Pro. 6:16-19, "16 These six [things] doth the LORD hate: yea, seven [are] an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness [that] speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren."

God oughta get a life and tell his followers to stop trying to micromanage the lives of others, gay and straight.

What is it about fundamentalists that makes them dissatisfied with living their own lives by their own lights, that they have to tell everyone else what to do. For our own good, of course.

The Senators don't want to loose their jobs.
I think this would have passes if Bush had not broken America's neck.

I posted this little rant in another thread, I still feel pretty much the same way.

While I support the idea of civil unions in NM...I tend to agree that it will simply lead to legal battles for full gay marriage. I say we cut out the middle man and go for the gold. We may even be able to help solve the state's financial crisis in the process. Before California passed prop 8 it was estimated that gay marriages would bring in over $640 million to the state coffers. Why can't New Mexico get that pie? Considering how one of our top industries is tourism it seems like a no brainer to me. Recognize gay marriages, and to really make sure we get repeat business - allow for no fault gay divorces as well. Not only would the state collect in license fees, etc but our local economy would boom from wedding planners to resorts and countless other industries. I'd support that; it would help the state budget without raising taxes, boost the economy, create jobs and put NM on the map as one of the most socially progressive states in the country. Its a win/win situation

Think about it, if NM were to both pass gay marriage as well as recognize gay marriages from other states (for the purpose of divorce) the $$$ would start to roll in statewide - not just in Abq and Santa Fe, but all the border cities: Carlsbad, Las Cruces, Raton, Clovis, etc etc etc. Everybody who thinks gays can't manage a relationship longer than a few months would be banking on this!

Of course we could never pass something that easy to make money for the state cuz they say it'll make baby jesus cry or something. Conservatives need to worry less about other people's personal lives and concentrate more on economic isssus.

Thank you to the courageous senators who stood strong in the face of bullying and rich special interests. Thank you to the senators who truly represented the convictions of their God-loving constituents. Let the City of Holy Faith be a beacon of discernment to a faltering country.

Bullying and rich special interests? Uh, that would be me, disabled and old, and my partner, old and nearly retired, who have pleaded from our hearts with the Senate to protect our civil rights?

You, madame, are a self-righteous, evil hypocrite. I can't even begin to imagine how you live with yourself. In my religion (Judaism), there is no hell--so I can't look forward to your going there. But if there were ever a reason for a hell, you provide it.

If one of your children is gay, YOU will be the LAST to know and the first to go.
This is a temporary set back, it is only a matter of TIME .
Too bad for the people gay and not who need it NOW.
Furthermore, it was a lack of courage for this vote to be against. NOT a courageous act as you imply.
Backwoods,backward B/S.
You are confused,I think because it is inhumane to not agree that the people who would befefit from this bill deserve to regarded fairly.
INHUMANE is what you are.
And I know of no Religon whereinhumanity is considerd to be an acceptable symptom of the belief system.
It IS confusing because it is grey, not black and white.
Please try thinking with logic, intelect and wisdom.
Your own children will benefit.

Please

It's time for gay Americans to start boycotting vactions and products from New Mexico. I for one will actively promote this boycott among my out of state friends starting today. Fortunately, my partner and I are relocating to a more progressive state this summer. We will not be returning and we certainly will not encourage any one supporting New Mexico business or tourism until there is equality in this state.
