Public financing should have been already in place per our vote in March 2008 for the upcoming 2010 election. The Mayor and City Council ignored our vote, dragged their feer until it was too late, and pushed off until later dates campaign reform. Do you think their was self interest involved by the current officials? ABSOLUTELY.

Shame on Richardson and his Lt. Gov and their campaigns. Richardson milked the system to further his ego and failed to take care of New Mexicans and their problems. According to the media, Richardson has thousands of dollars in his war chest... since, Richardson milked the system and turned his back on New Mexicans... Richardsons Lt. Gov. was lobbing for CASH for her next campaign for Gov of New Mexico. The Lt. Gov has learned alot from her mentor Richardson by using the New Mexican tax dollar to promote her agenda. Maybe the Lt. Gov and her BOSS and mentor Richardson should donate the Campaign CASH to National Association of Free Clinics a non-profit organization that could provide medical care for New Mexicans who have lost their jobs and can not afford health care. New Mexicans understand it is frustrating when they have no medical care and they have no place to go for medical care... Richardson and his Lt. Gov. have muncho bucks left in the banco which should be used to help New Mexicans get immediate immediate medical care by donating their campaign CASH to the National Association of Free Cllinics (a none profit medical care organization). Shame on Richardson and his Lt. Gov.

It's high time we had publicly funded campaigns as a national policy. Get the legalized bribery out of politics!

If you really want to see who's getting the big money look at all the candidates Campaigne statements then you can see who's gotten the big money and from who, Then pay attention to the City Council and see how these councilors vote. If these people donated to their campainge a good bet is that they are going to see in favor of that person when they come before the council.

The Mayor alone for this upcomming election has gotten money from Richardson, and I'm sure is on pace to break what was spent in his first election. Not a good move to have your name next to Big Fat Bill and other big money in this city.

Don't say I didn't warn you Mayor Coss.

It's a shame that races need to be decided by money.

I'm gald that this initiative has passed and hopefully it will keep all these big money developers and people who are only in it for themselves out of the elections in 2012 and thus allow for a clean election and electing the person who will do the best job, not who raised the most money.

It's too bad that this didn't pass in 2005 as Councilor Ortiz wanted it to. Goes to show you who on the council at that time needed to create a nest egg.

I wasn't opposing the financing of elections, I was opposing Coss and the Council dragging their feet until after they run unopposed and get re-elected.
There is so much loose money floating around and Coss and the incumbents don't want to have any of it going to fund opponents.
